We stayed at 'The Redbury' during the first week of August. All the staff were extremely helpful, especially Johnny and Sam on reception. Alexandra, the concierge, was very knowledgeable of all the attractions and advised us of the best ways to travel there. The hotel itself was grand, clean and tidy. It is located within walking distance to the Empire State building, 5th Avenue and Times Square. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable, we would love to come back soon! - The Roth family

So extremely disappointed by our experience at this hotel. First off, hotel staff is rude and unhelpful. We arrived early and requested that if the room is available before check in, that they notify us so that we can get some rest since we had a long flight. They never called us and a room was available at 11 am. We became aware of this, because I noticed I was charged a $3900 hold on my credit card for the room. Once we got back to the hotel, we inquired about the charge, to which we were told they were unsure what happened and would get back to us with a resolution. They never did! I asked again the next day and again I was told by a hotel staff that it was odd and they would look into it. No one ever communicated anything to us. Until check out, when I brought it up again and they advised the money would be reversed and they gave us about $180 credit. Now lets get to the actual hotel itself. There is construction being done in the lobby area near the elevators, so the free breakfast that they offer does not exist, since the space is being renovated. So we did not get our breakfast like we believed we would when we booked the room. There was no credit given for that either, nor were we notified upon booking. Second, the hotel used to be a hotel for women, meaning that some of the previous residents are still living at the hotel. On our floor, on the 8th is said one of these women. She has numerous signs all over her door claiming the hotel staff has harassed her, stolen from her, and sexually violated her. This was very concerning and alarming for two women like us who were staying there for multiple days. We were never given a warning about this, and nothing was done to make sure we felt safe in the premises. Third, although our room was fairly large, there was only maybe two light fixtures in the whole room to light up such a huge space, which makes no sense. Also, the ac unit is in the room, which means that every time it turned on we woke up from the loud noise. All in all, do not stay here! Save your money and stay somewhere better.

We have stayed at The Redbury 4 times now and the hotel and staff are always a pleasure. Very comfortable rooms, and it is a swanky, hip hotel that our adult children enjoy visiting us at and dining with us at Marta! Front desk staff and valet gentlemen are always extra kind, and personable, Remembering us upon return and making us feel special...nice touch amidst the craziness of Manhattan! The Location works well for us with work and pleasure, very central! Special shout out to Nomi at the Front Desk who Went above and beyond with recommendations for everything from shopping to boutique gyms for us to get our workout in, and ensuring our stay was excellent! We will be staying here again and highly recommend The Redbury!

We have traveled all over the world, and stayed everywhere from five-star hotels to beach huts- and never expected that a hotel in NY would have such exemplary customer service, the equal of the best we have ever experienced. My wife, although she is pregnant, had to fly to NY from the west coast on the red-eye. She arrived at the Redbury exhausted and hoping against hope that there might just be a room available for her to rest and recover before the day began. Shelley, who manages the hotel overnight, couldn't have been more kind or caring, and took great care of her, making sure she was comfortable and able to face the day. She was equally kind to me when I arrived a few hours later, and each time we came back, remembering our names and making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel itself is quite nice, well-restored, quaint and comfortable, and well-located- but we will come back for Shelley and her outstanding colleagues more than any other reason.

The hotel is very charming and has this New York City vibe. Location is fantastic. We’ve got a room upgrade upon check in, king size suit is spacious and very well decorated. Bed is super comfortable. I was in between The Redbury and Citizen M hotel in Bowery as the room rate is similar. I sow CitizenM in reality and did not regret my choice for a second. Great breakfast and dining places around (in addition to indeed very very good Marta at the hotel, which was busy 7 days per week, always looked fully booked). World best jazz clubs within very short walking distance, Jazz Standard and others also. Overall the hotel itself and the area are so retro classy, I enjoyed every minute there. If there is a one thing that can be improved is availability of bathrobes without the need to ask for it and probably more towels. These were the minor issues that did not affect our impression anyway. Don’t expect “luxury” but elegance, style and Midtown atmosphere at its best.
