I know many people feel this property is way overpriced, and I've waited over 25 years myself to be able to afford and stay at this hotel, and took advantage of the summer special rate, but it was worth every penny. I've been to Disney over 30 times, it's my favorite place to visit. We usually stay off Disney property to get more space for our money and have stayed on 2 onsite Disney properties in the past. Although, it's pricey, there is soooo much to this resort that I would come just to hang out here and not even go to a park. Check in was online so we didn't' even have to stop at the front desk for check in or check out and room key was digital and given to us before we even made it to the resort. Ground are immaculate and gorgeous. My daughter and I came on this trip and spent our first evening just walking around the grounds, that was like a vacation in itself. 3 pools, a small beach with sand. The resort had marshmellow/smores at the beach the first evening and it was fantastic. We walked to the wedding pavillion, so beautiful. There are so many restaurants on site, we used our deluxe disney dining to go to all of them (I of course made reservations ahead of time). There is an island grill, which we used to get all of our snacks and refillable drinks each day and you can also sit outside and watch the fireworks from there as well each evening. Our room was by the marina where you can rent several different types of boats and we enjoyed watching them come in and out throughout the evening. We had an outer building lagoon view in conch key, and it was so nice! Showers were wonderful, beds super comfortable, so cozy that we actually waked to our alarms every morning instead of waking tons of times because we were somewhere different. Robes were a nice touch in the room too. We were able to watch the fireworks every night from the resort. And even though we were at magic kingdom on the 4th of july I wished we had watched the fireworks from the resort on the ferry dock, great view, which we did the following evening and you can hear all of the music/sound as well thats playing at magic kingdom so you don't miss anything at all!! We swam in the main pool which was fantastic, a bit on the warm side but still so nice, extremely clean. we got drinks at the bar/ and can bring your drinks in the pool and also use snack credits as well. Everyone is so pleasant and nice at this resort didn't run into any employee that wasn't helpful and nice. Normally, we always rent a vehicle when we come to Disney but I didn't this time so I was able to save that money. With the monorail right outside the resort, you're one stop away from Magic Kingdom, and we also used the monorail to go to the Polynesian for breakfast there one morning and you can go to the ticket center to transfer to epcot. They also provide transportation to the other parks. After staying here I want to come back so badly, I already booked us a room with a castle view for next July and I'm paying it off weekly to be able to go, thats how amazing it was for us!! In my opinion this resort is what I call "VACATION" or "HOLIDAY" and worth the expense to relax and enjoy every aspect with ease. Highly recommend this resort!

I have food allergies and found a dessert that I could have. I asked if the dessert had any of my allergies in it and the waiter said it didn’t. After eating the dessert my stomach started hurting and I ended up having diarrhea that night. On the plus side, the decor was nice.

My wife had this hotel on her bucket list since she was a kid. So, when we became passholders, we decided to take advantage of the discount to stay here for 4 nights as a second honeymoon after our 10 year vow renewal. The room was nice but not overly impressive. Even with our discount the room cost as much as some oceanfront rooms in Hawaii. They were certainly clean but other than the view across the lagoon toward the Polynesian it seemed like just another hotel room. The grounds were nice and very well kept and the pools were great although I would say that the pool at the Royal Pacific is much better. The staff was friendly and I would say the Bell Service is definitely top notch. Disney transportation is what it is. For Magic Kingdom we always took the monorail to get there and resort boat to return. Because we drove and had a car available, we drove to the other parks so that we weren’t at the mercy of the bus system or trying to transfer on the monorail to the Epcot line. I would say we enjoyed our stay but given the price, we probably wouldn’t stay again even with the discounted rate because there wasn’t a wow factor or anything that made it more magical than anywhere else we have stayed in the Orlando area.

Not as grand as I expected

I was born and raised in Florida, going to Disney since I was very small. As annual pass holders for several years now, my family goes to Disney frequently. We occasionally stay on property but more often stay off property. We have never stayed at a deluxe resort at Disney before but rates are good this summer so we booked a couple of trips. Our stay at the Grand Floridian has been a longtime dream of mine so what better way to celebrate a milestone birthday? I was lucky enough to score a last minute res to Victoria & Albert’s on my actual birthday as well as a good rate on a room so I went for it. My husband and I were excited for 24 hours as a couple and had a lot to celebrate. Check in was ok, nothing special. The cast member was gracious enough to find colors of magic bands besides the gray we were assigned (I had booked the reservation a week prior so there wasn’t enough time to customize magic bands). We went to our room and it was just ok. The building was sort of dingy with a sign stating that WiFi was down and we passed a room that had someone’s bra outside their door (so weird). The room had two queen beds which I wasn’t very happy about. Apparently not many rooms have king beds in them (who knew?). We called the front desk and when my husband mentioned it was my birthday they found a room with a king sized bed in club level and graciously upgraded us. The club level building (Sugar Loaf) was much nicer inside and not dingy like the other building. They had a pretty good spread of food out which was nice but I’m honestly not sure what other perks club level entails. No one really talked with us much about it but hey, it was free so I can’t complain. I don’t really understand why I would pay a significant amount extra for club level in the future though. We had dinner at Victoria & Albert’s which was about a 4 hour experience and it was exceptional. By far the best part of our stay and my birthday and I highly recommend it. Everyone at Victoria & Albert’s was extremely good at their job and made us feel very special. The harpist there is absolutely wonderful, the manager was very approachable and friendly, sharing stories about one of the dishes and the inspiration behind it, and the servers were fantastic. We did a little shopping at the resort and the Basin White store is a favorite of mine (they also have a Disney Springs location). The cast members in all of the shops we visited were very helpful. We had a breakfast reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe that was terrible. In hindsight, I should have cancelled it and just had breakfast in the club level area. Service was nonexistent and our waitress barely spoke to us. My French toast came with strawberries on the side and one was obviously moldy. Instead of bringing me a new dish, the lady who brought the food just took the moldy strawberry away and brought some new ones. This is NOT what I expect from a resort that charges the prices they do. The waitress didn’t mention it and no manager came by about the issue either. All in all, I would say a stay in the Grand Floridian wasn’t really as grand as I had hoped. It was nice and definitely convenient after a meal at Victoria & Albert’s, but I still don’t really understand why they charge so much to stay there. The rooms and service in the hotel as a whole were just ok. For the same price, we stayed at another deluxe resort the following week and had a better experience, better rooms, and much better food options than the Grand Floridian Cafe. Do go to Victoria & Albert’s though, they are fabulous in there!

    The Best of the Best

We have stayed at many Disney properties and the Grand Floridian is by far the best! I tend to be very particular, trying to make sure everything is just right for our vacations, and the Disney Signature Services staff were so patient with me before we arrived. Once we checked in, the staff at the Grand Floridian, from the concierge services, to the staff at the Royal Palm Club, all made us feel very welcomed and special. The club level in the main building was just outstanding...convenient breakfast every morning, nice snacks at lunch and throughout the day (scones to die for!), and a wonderful variety each evening at dinner. We were traveling with 7 adults so we definitely took advantage of the complimentary beer and wine, too! We have wanted to try staying at the Polynesian, but each time we plan a trip, our hearts take us back to the Grand Floridian!
