Wonderful time and would definitely return

Neil B (Manchester, United Kingdom) on Apr 19, 2024

Wow where to begin. Firstly, we had to change our holiday dates, and our original hotel wasn't available on the dates we moved to so this was our 2nd choice. I am happy to say what a 2nd choice it was. Super clean, super friendly check in and this resort is huuuuggee - do not underestimate how big this resort is. A good 10-15 mins DRIVE from one side to the other. There are free resort shuttle buses that can take you around. There are so many things to do onsite, a lot of which i can't comment on because we were off busy doing other things. Golf, river rapids, bowling, crazy golf, arcades, tennis just to name a few but there's plenty to keep you going if you don't intend to move off the resort at all. A lot of things are included with the villa price like the swimming pool access but there's also an upgrade plan for the extra stuff if you wish. We ended up with a villa in the west village, not too far from the west gate side entrance. This meant we were also close to one of the smaller pools available on the resort. All pools are gated and can only be accessed using your room card/wristband. (Wristband is a small version of your room key) The main pool and reception area were around a 15 minute walk from us. North village includes the river rapids - if thats your thing look for one up that way. So the villa itself (its referred to as an apartment, I call it a villa) was a semi detached type bungalow with it's own driveway space, a full kitchen with a massive fridge freezer/microwave, oven and washing machine/dryer, a living room, a main bedroom with king/queen sized bed including an en suite and a 2nd bedroom with 2x double beds and a doorway to the main bathroom. Also had a balcony type area outside with 2x sunloungers, table and 4 chairs. A huge amount of space for a family of four. It was also very clean and very modern and the A/C worked well. It's close location to the smaller pool and exit to the 192 meant we actually didn't visit the rest of the resort much, it was an ideal spot for us. We booked via Virgin Holidays (UK travellers) which meant a $30/day resort fee was waived. Check in was seamless - other reviews on here mention of timeshares and problems getting keys. We had our room keys within 5-10 mins of walking in. They provide you a voucher for Orlando park discounts at reception and to redeem this you head over to the timeshare counter. It clearly states this on the voucher and as we already had park tickets we didn't redeem it, and therefore never got any hassle/mention of timeshares at all. We had a car, and we were around 15 mins drive from Animal Kingdom, about 25 for Magic Kingdom and about 35-40 to Universal. Also about 10 mins from nearest Wallmart, a <5 mins drive to a Publix and there are plenty of good places to eat nearby on the 192 all again with 5-15 mins away. Couldn't have been happier with the place in the end. It was immaculate and it's location was ideal. Would 100% return.

Best Resort in the area

Finlay B (Zalaegerszeg, Hungary) on Apr 18, 2024

love coming to this resort with my family. Had a very bad experience this time as we were solicited to buy timeshare at checking in. We were very clear that we were not interested as we own too many banked weeks already. The sales person then said that we could get a free week and $50 to spend at the resort if we go on a tour of the village that is openeing soon. Thos appealed to us as we could see if we wanted to book there next time we came. We were picked up early next morning only to be taken to the sales centre and then sat down at a table to go through the whole timeshare sales pitch. When ai explained that this is not what we signed up for. Everyone apologized that we were mislead. No we were lied to not mislead and therefore we left - no free week or $50. This is the only thing that leaves a bad taste in ones mouth about checking in. The pressure to buy and they dangle this carrot of freebies and lie to you. I did fill out a complaint sheet so I hope this is rectified.

Nice stay but mishap.

LouisCantin (Laval, Canada) on Apr 18, 2024

Nice stay but mishap. In downtown Varadero. Near the Beatles and other nightclubs. Clean room. Resort open so the majority of rooms are located on the other side of the street. The food is okay, nothing more, like in Cuba. DANGER Be very careful, the hotel toilets have maze doors, this means you have to zigzag to the right, left and right to get to the toilet. What I couldn't have known was that the guy before me had spilled his beer there and the floor was wet. I really wanted to pee and went in quickly, feet went off me and landed on my head!! I lost consciousness and a vacationer (Vancouver firefighter) was giving me CPR when I regained consciousness. It was a nurse from Gaspésie who revived me with ice. I have never been in cardio-respiratory arrest, not at all! Back in Montreal, the CHUM operated on my brain on January 13, to remove a large hematoma on my brain. I had my last control scan yesterday and everything is fine. The morning after the accident, the manager Angel of the hotel came to see me at lunch to tell me to ease up on drinking, which was not the case. A harmless incident that could have cost me my life!

A pleasing vacation!

Tom B on Apr 17, 2024

The original resort includes houses which is better for seniors convenience. Separated bedrooms are great for friends. Everything was clean in the home. The kitchen was well supplied. The a/c unit worked very well. The golf course view was pleading to the eye!

Renovated Villas and Impeccable grounds

mga001 (Miami, Florida) on Apr 15, 2024

We have been coming to this resort for over 20 years since my parents are owners. We absolutely love it and look forward to our yearly visits. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our villa had been completely remodeled, new floors, appliances, furniture - everything. My parents stayed in a 2 bedroom villa while we stayed in another 2 bedroom villa a couple of doors down (thank you to Melanie in guest relations for making that happen!!). I love that you can walk out of the villa and be surrounded by beautiful trees and lakes. The villas are very comfortable, very clean and it was so nice to have shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. The kitchens were also very nicely stocked. The grounds here are very nicely kept with everything you can imagine. There is golf, tennis, mini golf, several pools, arcades, shops and dining options. You are also extremely close to a publix for groceries and several dining options within a 5-10 minute drive. This is a relaxing stay and highly recommend when visiting Orlando.
