Really nice hotel and lovely surroundings. Easy access to Universal either by boat or walk. We walked most days. Personally I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star hotel though, maybe a 4 star. Just watch for the parking charges, they soon add up.

    Nicely done

This is a chic hotel. We stayed at the club level two weeks ago. The rooms were extremely clean and had all the amenities we could have ever wanted. The proximity to all the Universal parks is the main reason we stayed there. At the club level, we expected more. They served basically cold, carb-loaded breakfasts, i.e., donuts, bagels, puff pastry filled with ham and cheese. We were hoping for some scrambled eggs at least. Luckily, I could enjoy hard-boiled eggs, yogurt (ladened with sugar), and fresh fruit. We try to stay at the club level at any hotel around the world that offers such accommodations and receive hot breakfasts. The cleanliness and attention to detail was exceptional. Book your stay if you're going to any of the Universal parks!

Really a hotel of two halves. One is the actual hotel function which for the price is very poor. Check in and check out is slow - even on the Royalty level - and staff are pretty poor. They took days to respond to my request for an upgrade despite the repeated texts ‘how is everything?’ texts they kept sending me. Cleaning is also abysmal. Rooms not cleaned by 230pm each day and on one day - when we had our DND sign on the door for a grand total of 45 minutes - they couldn’t even clean it at all! Yes, that’s because a hotel that charges $500 a night has no cleaners after 5pm!! Cleaning itself is shoddy and there were lots of crumbs and dust around. Room itself is basic. Rock Royalty double queen was bigger but the standard is really of a 2 star hotel. Bathroom is horrifically basic (even on the Royalty Level) with a small tub and feels depressing. Royalty level club lounge is ok - a few bits of decent food and nice alcohol but not a wonderful selection and very limited space. Pool is quite nice though ridiculous they make small kids who can swim wear a life jacket to go on a waterslide into exceptionally shallow water. Bizarrely not required for the deep bits of the pool! Music and service round the pool are good. Express pass perk is incredibly useful and the location of the hotel is excellent for access. Overall I’d definitely try a different hotel next time though the Express Pass necessity means I’d only go for the Royal Pacific or Portofino.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando twice now, and we absolutely love it! First of all, it is one of three hotels that provide complimentary Express Passes for the two main Universal Parks. It is also located right next to the main Universal Park, and takes about five minutes to walk from the hotel to the front of the park. Or if you're like my wife, you can take the free water taxi to the middle of City Walk instead. If the perks pertaining to Universal Studies aren't enough for you, the hotel itself has some exceptional features. It has a great buffet (The Kitchen), a nice "upper-scale" restaurant (The Palms), a convenient store (Emack and Bolios), which has virtually anything you could ever need from snacks and food, to alcohol, to laundry detergent, to milk and so much more. They also have a really classy and fun bar (Velvet Bar) which often offers live music (Micah Read plays acoustic there often, and he is a lot of fun...you can follow him on social media.) To that point, they even have musicians play during brunch at The Kitchen on some days. That leads me to their theme, the musical artist theme reverberates around the resort, and it makes for a very fun and exciting atmosphere. A couple other amenities worth mention are their fitness center, which I used every day of my visit and found it to be spacious and to have equipment consistent with a small, professional gym. They even have chilled towels, citrus-infused water, complimentary fruits, and complimentary headphones. The gym was excellent. The pool was also amazing. They have a slide which is great for all ages, as pointed out by my wife who went down it twice. They have two hot tubs, one for adults only, and they even play movies on a screen at the pool on some evenings. They have a bar where they also serve food directly at the pool, and they have cabanas you can rent which include TVs, couches, and snacks. We did not rent one ourselves because it was just the two of us and there were so many other things to do, but we noticed multiple families and groups renting them, and they all looked to be having a blast. On our second visit we stayed on the Royal level, which was AMAZING. We didn't think the extra cost would be worth it, but it is. The top floor is exclusive and private, but it also includes a lounge which provides snacks and drinks throughout the day, breakfast in the morning, dinner in the evening to include COMPLIMENTARY ALCOHOL, and desserts at night! Not only was all of this included, but the quality of it was outstanding. Last but certainly not least, it is clear that ALL of the people working here actually care about the guests, not just about their paychecks. On our first visit, we had a staff member that was on a break spend it by showing us around the hotel just because he enjoyed it so much and wanted us to do the same. The people here are amazing, and they truly make this place a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The best part is, you can come as many times as you want! My wife and I will be visiting again soon, and we hope to see you there!

    Excellent Choice for Universal

From the appearance of the grounds to check-in, the stay, amenities and finally to check-out, the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal was excellent and delivered first class service. Our room was immaculately clean, updated and had a very large bathroom with two large sinks. The hotel itself was impressively clean as well; this included the bars, pools areas, grounds and common areas. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel, parks and general Orlando area. The excellent bar staff were professional, polite and good company. In particular I would like to thank Ken from the Velvet bar and Kyle from the Beach Club. The pool in enormous and good for all ages. It may be among the larger pools that I have seen at a hotel. There are towels available right at the pool deck as well as the Beach Club that has good food service. As far as location goes, two of the parks are less than a 10 minute walk away, but the water taxi which takes about the same time was a pleasant ride as well after a full day of walking around. With the park privileges that come with being at guest at the Hard Rock Hotel and the location I would not stay anywhere else for a future trip. The Universal Express passes alone was worth staying at this hotel, notwithstanding the caliber of facility this hotel presents. I highly recommend the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal for families, singles and couples. Well done Hard Rock Hotel!
