I have been coming to Disney World on and off for the past 24 years with my family. Starting from when I was a kid and into my late 20s now. I have always loved coming here and will continue to do so. We have stayed at numerous hotels, but the last couple times we have stayed with the Yacht or Beach Club. It has an amazing location, the theme is great, and the pool is one of the best in Disney. We just came home from a trip during the 1st week in May. And although we understood things would be different and a little less "magical" as a whole in all of Disney World due to covid, we still knew we would have a great time. And we did have a good time but a few things at the hotel made it a little less great: - I will start with the worst part of the stay. We had a lateish flight home on our last day. Originally scheduled for 5:30 and got delayed until 8:45 pm. With that we were hoping to have a late checkout because we already spent money to go to a park. We figured we could go back to the hotel to hang by the pool and shower before our flight. We called the hotel the night before and they told us they would call back in 15 minutes with an answer. No call. We went down to the desk and they said they would call us in the morning with an answer. No call. We delayed our plans and called in the morning, and they once again said we would receive a call in 15 minutes because the manager was in a meeting (at 7 AM?). No call. At this point, my hot headed Italian father is furious and goes to the front desk and they finally told us late check out was not possible. I understand this with covid but at least give us an answer and not drag us along, so we are not delaying our plans we paid for on a very expensive trip. -Housekeeping was also definitely below par for Disney standards. They were not making beds (makes sense for covid). But we also just had a pile of towels that we could barely get anyone to come get. Just very unorganized in that department. -A couple other things were not typical for Disney like places not being open and shorter hours for everything as a whole but I won't go into detail on that as it was all also probably because of covid. As a whole, the trip was good but very messy, chaotic, unorganized, and a little less "magical". I will continue to go to Disney and stay at the Yacht Club but hopefully they get back to normal once covid dies down more.

Just Wow. We headed over for a romantic couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. Originally, we were booked in at the Art of Animation resort, but we upgraded the night before to the Yacht Club. We did the mobile check in and the room was available before we pulled in. We went straight to our room and unlocked it with our existing magic bands. We only had a standard, but we were right behind the elevator on the second floor so close to everything. We had a fantastic view over the rear courtyard and lake and just an elevator ride down to the marketplace. We went ahead and got the resort mugs for our stay so the proximity to the marketplace was terrific. The room was, in a word, GORGEOUS. It reminded me of a larger, grander version of a verandah stateroom on Disney Cruise Line. Amenities were top notch and there was even a Keurig with Joffrey's in the room! As per usual, every single cast member we encountered were so friendly and terrific. I only wish I could remember names to call them out individually. The pool is just....WOW...I mean I really need to extend my vocabulary, but it was just amazing. The hot tubs were so nice after a day on our feet and likewise, the lazy river was fantastic for just being weightless and floating around in circles. I think I could live in the pool area alone. We are not in the financial position to make a habit of coming here, but because of the pandemic and annual passholder discount, we were able to make our dream of staying here a reality. Now we are so freaking spoiled. I hope, someday, to be able to return because this was just a dream come true.

We enjoyed staying at this resort. We love the location on the Boardwalk. This resort is walkable or boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The resort is very clean as were all of the parks. We never had any concerns for our health. Due to Covid, not everything is open on the boardwalk. The main pool area gets crowded in the afternoon and reservations are being accepted. We didn’t know that when we checked in. Make sure you make a reservation if you plan on a pool day so you are not disappointed when you get there. Wait times for rides seem long, but they move quickly. Bus lines are much longer due to covid and safe spacing. Use your Disney experience app to determine when the next bus is arriving at your resort. It will save you time from waiting in line in the hot sun. Overall a great trip. This is one of our favorite resorts.

We had a lovely stay at the Yacht Club. It was our second time staying here, but the first time during Covid. We knew about the reduced housekeeping and reduced dining options, and Disney sends out reminders about these issues, so people should be aware of them before arrival. We love the beauty, safety and convenience of this property, near the Boardwalk, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The access to the Beach Club pool is also a great perk. Our room was near the tennis courts, so we enjoyed tennis while staying here. Rafiq at the front desk was very helpful and gave us tennis racket and balls without even asking our room number. Finally, we loved dining at the Ale and Compass Restaurant at this resort, for both breakfast and dinner. The food was fresh and outstanding. We would stay here again.

Check in is painful, trash pile ups

Property is lovely and conveniently located but a few things bug us especially considering the cost. We have gone twice and both times the check in process has been painful. Rooms are never ready at check in time of 3 pm with no explanation or apology or even a rough estimate of when it would be ready and the magic bands don’t work well to open the door. They open maybe one in three tries. Even the manager couldn’t do it consistently. Also the toilets at the hotel and throughout all Disney properties are TOO HIGH. I am an adult and my feet dangle which makes them very uncomfortable to use. Housekeeping now is reduced to only taking out trash and replacing towels every second day. Seems to be a covid thing but not sure how reducing the trash removal accomplishes anything. It’s very depressing to return to a hotel room with overflowing trash cans. We and many other guests resorted to putting our trash out in the hallway outside our door to get it out of our room but in the age of covid this seems even less sanitary to walk the hallways past other people’s garbage. Lots of people are doing take out and mobile orders for meals since the restaurants are operating at reduced capacity and you don’t want your leftover pizza box sitting in your room for two days. You would think Disney of all places would remove trash from the rooms daily.
