Very nice facility in a pleasant setting. Rooms are nicely appointed and service is pleasant and efficient. The public spaces are fair but not as generous as they could be. The primary pool is a bit haphazard, especially if you are not traveling with young children. Fortunately I had access to the "adults only" pool at the Spa. That is fantastic. Overall a lovely stay.

I loved Everything about this hotel except for the double bed instead of a queen in their rooms. It made our stay rather uncomfortable but everything else is great. This hotel is a great value including tennis, pickle ball, trail bikes etc. in the cost of your stay. in addition there were other family activities in areas with games for the kids. I loved the lit area with table tennis and bocce ball. The lazy river was wonderful as was the outdoor bar and grill. The grounds were very clean and safe. We will be back for sure.

What a disappointment. My stay was overshadowed by a swarm of bugs that had apparently nested in the walls of the bedroom. There was a crack in the wall, and in the middle of the night, I could see more and more flying insects of various shapes and sizes crawling and flying out. It seems like something from a tropical third-world country, not a JW Marriott. Once we made the staff aware, we were downgraded to a smaller room on a lower floor and worse view. How does this make sense? It’s as if the staff were never trained in hospitality 101. Some positives. Breakfast options were decent. And the grass range is nice - though if you don’t golf, well congrats, because that’s what your resort fee is paying for. Other negatives - staff is curt and not friendly. I’m used to it coming from a large city but c’mon, this is an expensive “5-star” resort. The resort is spread out. Both our original and replacement rooms were far walks from the more popular amenities. Parking is super far away. 10-15 min walk from guestrooms. And the overall location is unfortunate - very far away from anything interesting in Phoenix or Scottsdale. Given the unusually high ratings of this hotel, who knows how much they solicit for positive reviews and/or pay to remove negative ones. I can’t imagine it being an accurate representation of all guests.

I just came home from a girls trip at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. We were there 4/16/21 - 4/20/21. This is one of the top 5 hotels I’ve ever been to. Not only are the grounds absolutely gorgeous and well taken care of, the but staff wouldn’t have been more friendly and caring. From Kyle at checkin, to Raymond at the doors welcoming us and helping us out/keeping us company during a crazy Uber situation, to Sal helping us organize our spa appointments, to Don getting us our lovely lazy river pool side cocktails, everyone had a smile on their face and wanted to make sure we had a lovely time. We went to the spa and lazy river pools between 8:30am and 9:30 and never once had an issue getting a lounge chair. I had heard that that was difficult over spring break. That was not a problem whatsoever while we were there. The spa was amazing! I had a facial with Del and a massage with Brian F. My appointment was goofed up since there was another person with the same first name. I only waited an extra 10 minutes and they took 30% off my bill without me even asking. The ladies helping in the women’s locker room were always on their toes making sure we had everything er needed! The food and drinks at the spa pool were very good- I highly suggest the Cobb salad and the kale salad! Siham makes the best drinks and was always looking out for us made sure our drinks and snacks were thoroughly enjoyed. Both Roy’s and the Stone Grill have delicious food! I highly recommend the scallops at the stone grill and the sea bass at Roy’s! It was GREAT! This is my second time at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge and I can’t wait to go back!

    This resort did not disappoint!

I only have great things to say about our trip to the JW recently. We had gone for a girls weekend and needed some time away to relax. This resort was one of the best that I’ve ever stayed at! The people were all so helpful and nice, the spa was everything and more that we could have wanted! The food was top notch and I’m very particular. Everyone took care of us from Raymond the doorman, to Don the pool waiter, to Miranda a server at Roy’s. We usually have to go out of the country to get service and the resort at this level but the JW did not disappoint! I highly encourage anyone going to get a spa service and sit at the spa pool. I will definitely go back!
