    Phenomenal massage; dissapointing experience

Visited here with a friend using an expired Groupon for two massages. Let's start with the good stuff: My masseur, Brandon, was impossibly good. He listened to my concerns and I received one of the best massages of my life. My friend had Evan and she reported an equally outstanding experience. The staff in the spa area were extremely kind, helpful and willing to do anything to make the experience top notch. Kudos to Isabella the manager, and Sierra the spa attendant who went the extra mile. Here were the disappointments: ~ the wet sauna was out of service, which was one of the things we were most looking forward to ~ the package we purchased was supposed to include use of the salt room. It did not. And if we wanted to use it, we would have to make a reservation and it would cost another $90 per person ~ the main pool was very crowded with people, most of whom were on their cell phones ~ the relaxation room was very bright with windows looking out to the mineral pool and cold plunge, also full of people on their cell phones (it's a relaxation room: we don't want to hear your personal conversations when we're trying to chill out) ~ I tried to order a bloody mary. Was told they didn't have that, but I could order a signature cocktail. I ordered a cranberry cocktail and was served a premixed margarita that tasted like anti-freeze (for $14) ~ our lockers didn't function. Each time we needed to access them we had to hunt down an attendant to open them ~ there was a troop of young women who thought it would be fun to take nude selfies and obscene gestures in front of the glass from the relaxation room (this issue was quickly addressed by Sierra upon expressing my concern) ~ at the end of our spa day, I requested the glass of wine that was supposed to come with the package purchased. I was told that since the Groupon had expired, that was no longer included. I explained the frustrations we had experienced that day but the answer was still no. The manger, Isabella, came to the desk and honored that. She could not have been more gracious or professional. In conclusion, our masssage therapists were fabulous. Isabella was fantastic, as was Sierra. Beyond that, the rest of the experience was frustrating. I'll go back, but just to have a treatment from my amazing therapist. Every venue has its off days. I'm hoping our experience was just one of those.

Nice resort but the pool area needs some cleaning

The rooms are clean and spacious. Staff was helpful and nice. Food and drinks are okay. The only problem is the pool area, the water doesn't seem clean and one of the pools has a sand beach which is cool for kids but you can find sand in every single pool. Definitely need to improve on the cleanliness of the pool area. Otherwise pleasant stay.

Have stayed here every year for the past 4 years for a week in the summer. This is the first time reviewing. As always this hotel, facilities and staff do not disappoint. The kids love the pool area, slide and beach and there is ample seating and lounging for all. The outdoor bar is great and drinks prices are good. We had interconnecting rooms which were very roomy and both had fridges. There were ample towels and soaps and more arrived when we needed one day. The cleaners did a GREAT job everyday it is not easy cleaning a room up after 3 kids have lived in it, I know!!! It was always clean and tidy when we csme back. Self parking is easy and great also. We look forward to coming back again next year!

We had a memorable experience at the Hyatt last weekend. The kids were all very excited and will remember the weekend for a long time. Everything and everyone we came in contact with were fabulous! We will do this again.

    Disappointing Spa Experience

After traveling all morning from Oregon, we were looking forward to our spa day at the Hyatt. My friends and I travel frequently, and usually time spent at the spa is the highlight of our trip! Unfortunately- none of us would ever return to this spa!! Check in went well, until it was time to access a locker. None of the three lockers would open correctly and it took several minutes for someone with a key (lockers are supposed to reset with a code each client enters) to come help us. A minor detail, but frustrating since it happened again to one of us each time we used our lockers. When we walked into the pool area to relax with some lunch and a drink, it was so crowded there was nowhere for us to sit. It was beautiful, but very noisy and overbooked. The atmosphere was like a frat party. The pool side staff were incredibly sweet and apologetic, but I had to sit on the ground while eating my lunch. While waiting for our treatments in the “relaxation” room, the three of us were shocked! It was so loud we could barely hear each other. There were 14 women waiting along with us!!! We talked with the front desk, so staff member came through the relaxation room, but she walked right out again. Our massages were fair at best, and we all felt rushed in and out of our rooms by the staff. Upon checking out, we mentioned our frustration again to the desk staff, and we received an excuse that Fridays are “just so busy”. The day was more stressful than fun and relaxing. What a disappointing experience for three working moms who were ready for a true Hyatt spa day. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this spa when there are so many others in Scottsdale. This property is pretty, but does not live up to the reputation Hyatt is working to achieve. This was definitely not a great way to start our vacation.
