While we did not stay at the Blue Chairs Resort we came to have lunch and margaritas for 3 days of our trip at their beach club. I highly recommend it. It’s in a great part of the beach, the staff is awesome, food and margaritas are good, and you are obviously able to use the chairs and restroom on the property! Eduardo, the manager, is someone you don’t want to miss! He is so funny and helpful and will get you anything you need. The staff works together and they are all great. We mostly had Miguel and Omar who are also super sweet and helpful. If you’re in Viejo Vallarta or heading to the beach, def stop by Blue Chairs!

Do NOT use the banking machine in the lobby

Withdrew $5k pesos and got $4.6k. Filled a complaint with my bank and came back as rejected by the bank. Usually I do not use such "free standing" machines, but now I know better. There are many banks with banking machines not far.

Don't even bother booking this hotel for 30 minutes!!!!!!!!!!! It is a disgusting hell hole. I have stayed in hostels nicer then this dump!!!!!!!! Hotel is unsecured, rooms don't lock, and staff let people wonder in off the street without questioning if they have a legit reason to be there. Very unsafe!!!!!!!!! This place is falling apart and someone needs to do all of Mexico a favor and just knock this place down and rebuild something nice. The only news I have is I was able to prove to my credit card company that they misrepresented the hotel in pictures and I got all my money refunded. If you want a good LGBT hotel look no further then next door at The Almar!!!!

I stayed at this hotel from June 14-17, 2019. Originally I had booked 9 nights at this hotel, but I just had to get out. I had booked a room with ocean view, and asked for a single king size bed - that was my only special requests. When I arrived they did put me in a room with ocean view, however, the door lock was broken, so every time I was entering the room, the front desk representative had to go lock it up for me - seriously!!! They moved me to a second room, with the same issue...then to a third room where there was no water in the shower, or at least so little that it was not possible to clean yourself. Finally, I ended up in a room all the way in the back of the hotel...dark and of course with no ocean view. Dirty, and a standard I have never seen in any hotel before. I booked a new room at a neighbour hotel, and moved out on the 17th. The front desk asked why I wanted to leave, REALLY...after all this terrible experiences...I even had to give them my answer in writing!!! Finally I got out of there...they could of course done the right thing, charged me for 3 nights - but NO, they charged me for all 9 nights - full price, and a price for an upgraded ocean view room, although I ended up in a dark room in the back. I have never experienced such a crappy hotel ever before, and really do not hope to do so in the future either - and just want to give anyone a heads up.

I recently stayed eight days at this hotel, I did have to switch rooms due to an air conditioning unit being out, but both rooms were extremely large, clean, sparsely furnished, and well maintained by the hotel staff. This is by no means a five-star luxury hotel, but it is a nice, clean, well located hotel with very reasonable rates. I ate at the hotel beach restaurant almost every day and the food was fresh and inexpensive. My only two negatives for this hotel would be there were no in room safes (but a lock box is available at front desk) and the elevators seemed to be slow or inoperative.
