Great hotel but bad music at sport bar

The majestic mirage is a good hotel everything was good, but there’s something i did not like and it was the manager of the sport bar, her name is Sabrina. I think she is kind of racist... i ask her for dominican music and she ignored me which was pretty rude. The staff was amazing but she was not

As travellers from Canada we were mindful of COVID protocols and could not have felt more safe at this property. All employees were required to wear masks, face shields and safety eyewear. Food service employees were always sanitizing and we were required to use hand sanitizer upon entry into any restaurant or building for that matter. Be aware that not all guests will respect mask requirements, we did experience some folks who were quite transparent with the fact they had already had COVID and were kinda footloose and fancy free - we chose to respect their space and not associate with them. While this resort is beautiful what makes it extraordinary is the experience and service by the employees. Carlos, our pool server; Octavio, the food and beverage manager at the Mar House; Joel, our butler; Raul, at the piano bar (makes great gin drinks); Jose and Tony, our pool butlers; Carolina, the concierge, who on arrival night helped get us a meal moments before the restaurant closed; Cassandra, at concierge, who helped us book a COVID test after our government imposed new regulations AFTER we were there; Enrique, the Bellman, who made us smile at every interaction. And so many more. We were fortunate to have met many of the managers including Eduardo, and Sebastian. Beach is really important to us and this one leads my top beach list (we have travelled through most of the Caribbean). First of all, it goes on for miles. If you want to walk or run on the beach this one couldn’t be more perfect. The Mayan is now covered in seaweed and we were concerned this one might be similar, nope. It isn’t calm like Cuba beaches but it is easy to get into and there wasn’t any undertow. The beach at Majestic was huge, from what we saw all the hotels in Costa Majueres have huge beach areas. Sand is powder like and clean. Food could not have been better. We did not wait to get into a restaurant once. Caveat here, after January 3 the resort was at about 30% occupancy. Our New Years Eve meal at the buffet consisted of king crab, lobster, shrimp, lamb chops, etc. Simply amazing. The food continued to impress us at every meal, I don’t think either one of us ever had a meal we would classify as okay, it was always superb. We were there 11 days and never ran out of choices. We had a room in the adult section, a junior suite with outdoor jacuzzi. If you want more room choose the one bedroom. We don’t spend anytime in our room, so this room was ideal. The only thing I would change would be to be in an even numbered room in order to get the sunshine during the day, particularly in the morning as I like to have coffee on my deck. If you want a room that you never leave choose a swim out, same message about the even room number. The odd numbered rooms are shade all day. This hotel is about 40-50 minutes from the airport as you travel through Cancun. It took longer to get our shuttle than it did to get to our resort. Costa Majueres is a new resort area that is incredible. We hope to get there one more time before everyone else discovers it!
Great hotel, nice sports activities and best General Manager

José Gutierrez, the General Manager of Majestic made my stay unforgettable. I contacted him with special wishes about Golf and Padeltennis. He brought me to a Padeltennis game with his friends... What an incredible service. Thank you so much! Furthermore he provided me with helpful information about Golf and activities in the area. I will definitely come back to Majestic, thank‘s to the General Manager José Gutierrez. Hasta luego amigos
Good resort but poor execution (even in times of COVID)

The good: -Poolside drinks service was top notch -COVID related policies (mask wearing, spacing, ect) were well followed by staff and guests -Restaurant managers & wait staff were accommodating when needed. Especially when we were trying to get into the Japanese Hibachi last minute and the manager somehow accommodated a group of 4 out of nowhere despite everything being "Full" -Food was good. Not great but not bad either. Presentation was very well done. Buffets were pretty good even with the tough logitics The Bad: -Check-in was horrendous. When we arrived and were not really well greated, our bags were taken, and after a couple people handoffs we were brought to a holding banquet room where every 5-10 minutes someone would come and ask for some information. After about 45 minutes of waiting and not really sure what was going on, we were greeted by a "butler" I think and escorted out of the lobby area with 2 other groups. We were given a very brief tour and the guide eventually just handed us our envelope with our keys in it and said our butler would meet us at our room. We were a little confused but just went to our room and found no one there nor did anyone show up. We waited another 20 minutes for bags (now 1.5hrs since we arrived). All we wanted to do was get in suits and hit the pool before it closed. Eventually got our bags, never did see our butler that night or get any information about the resort (not a map, or food info, ect).
Unmatched service in a truly elegant setting

If you’re looking to be pampered with service unmatched to any other resort in this area, this is the place for you. I’ve stayed at quite a few all inclusives in Mexico from 3-5 stars and I’m not a terribly picky person so a few cracked tiles or uneven paint (if you scrutinized every inch) doesn’t phase me. The overall cleanliness and well kept grounds, as well as the elegant lobby and wonderful staff make this a 5 star in my book. If you want true relaxation come to this place! Yes there was some maintenance upkeep that needed to be done but by no means is this run down or was it such an obvious issue that it would keep you from having a truly luxury vacation. Great food, awesome drinks and gorgeous rooms...but what made this resort stand out was the staff: so friendly, always smiling and helpful to any question, as well as go out of their way to make your experience wonderful. As soon as we stepped foot on the beach someone was off and running with our towels to find us a bed or chairs to sit in. Drinks were always replenished with smiles and the service (even at the buffet) was top notch. The spa and hydrotherapy area was just what I needed for the goal of this trip: relaxation getaway. The water was too rough to go in when we were there but there are so many pools that finding somewhere to lounge around was no issue at all. Can’t speak to whether there is a ton of fun things as I just went to relax and didn’t go to main pool area or join activities etc, but there was always lively music at main pool. We did see two night shows but wasn’t really into listening to some men sing oldies (although they were good). I would have preferred a more lively nightly entertainment but that’s my personal choice. Pros: service, spa, elegance of grounds/lobby. Cons: dull nighttime entertainment and a bit longer to get there from the airport than I thought (35-40 min). Overall top notch absolutely gorgeous place.
