Great vacation

Ignore the bad reviews. We had two rooms. We had really good time. Beach is amazing. They maintain well. Overall resort is clean. Rooms could use upgrade but it wasn’t bad. We had oceanview room and view was amazing. Staff friendly, some don’t speak english but we didn’t have hard time to communicate. Food could be better but it wasn’t bad. . A la cartes better than buffet.Highly recommend Japanese restaurant. Pizza station is good. Sometimes might have to wait 15 min line. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

Just finished our 1 week at the all inclusive Caribe in Punta Cana. As said many times the weather, beach and ocean are excellent!! If this is all you need then this the place. Rooms, food, and drinks are average… drink’s probably below average. The building grounds are very well taken care of which is due to the hard working staff at this resort. There is always someone around to help with any questions. Probably would not return unless it was an awesome deal as there are other selections down the beach.

A beautiful relaxing and fun atmosphere

What a beautiful relaxing vacation. I love the size and layout of Occidental Caribe in Punta cana. The view is breathtaking as well. Plenty of comfortable lounges at the pools and beach area and they look new. I can't complain about anything really. It is not a new hotel but is very clean and all my wants and needs were easily obtained. I like to walk after dinner and this resort is big enough to get a good walk in but not so big that everything is a pain to get to. Upgrading to premium has some nice perks but if your not concerned about the little extras just book and go. I will definitely go back and would recommend it to all. A special thank you to Jennifer Castillo for everything special you do and also the wonderful Yanin Rijo who always had my coffee waiting with a smile.

Dirty and poor customer service!

I attached photos of the resort. The outside, lobby, pool and private restaurants were good. However, the AC didn't work, all rooms were filthy(traveled with friends and compared for reference-mold, blood stains- bodily fluid and who knows whatelse) and we had NO hot water the entire stay. I was told it would be fixed the first day which was a lie. Front desk and guest services never answered the phone again or offered to change our room. They messed up our dinner reservation to not include everyone in the group and they did not allow our party despite the restaurant being half empty. They just said reservation service were closed and they wouldn't do anything to assist. Most staff looked miserable and were not friendly and talked bad about other guests to eachother in Spanish assuming you don't know the language. First time at a Barcelo location and it will be my last.

Good resort

Was soo scared when I saw the reviews, but overall had a great vacation. Check in is hectic and long and we had to change room because of AC not working, but after that everything was great. The resort is very clean. The pools and beach are amazing. Beach waves are big for small kids but amazing sand and no seeweeds. Kids pool with slide is great. Lots of chairs and towels at the beach and the pool. Food is good. Great restaurants and easy to have reservations.
