    A fantastic seventeen days

    We arrived at Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda on February 17 for a 17 day-16 night holiday.. The office staff (Genny, Nancy and Andrea) had everything ready for us at check in. Our room was fantastic in building 5. They are updating many of the rooms in Building 5 and they are beautiful. Their response to COVID-19 was above our expectations. They took it very seriously and made sure we were all safe. They took our temperature before we entered any restaurant, had hand sanitizer available throughout the resort, required us to walk over a sanitizer pad when entering the restaurants, masks required in all buildings and provided a COVID test before we left. The resort was at 14% occupancy during our 17 day stay. We truly missed all our Canadian travelers we usually see during our stay. The staff at Blue Bay could not be more friendly or helpful. Andres and Claudia took care of all our requests at the beach bar. The waiters, Willey, Eddie, Ruperta, Candito and Fresco made our dining experience extra special. We were concerned with the low occupancy we would not have much variety in our evening dining but they rotated the cuisine between two restaurants. Every night we had two different choices. Breakfast and lunch was buffet-style but they did the serving. You had to be creative and look for the "treat of the day" to find something different at every meal. This was our 13th visit to Blue Bay and looking forward to next year already.

    Low cost experience with 5 Star Service

    My wife and I visited the property with friends who are members. We were unfortunately stranded at the airport for over an hour due to a lack of communication with the resort and the transport company. Once we arrived at the resort, we realized we were not staying at a 5 star resort. We were greeted with a smile and a cocktail, which helped ease the beginning frustration. We met Ginny with Circle One, she was very friendly and advised all of us that our transportation fee will be comped due to the clerical error. We did not even ask for it . Check-in was very easy and friendly. While we were being driven to our room, we met Antonio "El Tigre" who was very informative about the property and took care of us during our two week stay. The property was hit by two hurricanes back to back in October 2020, there is still some maintenance issues they are working through but with COVID, I'm sure they are having a hard time getting materials and certain crews to work due to the demand. The property is still beautiful The room was cozy and very clean and was kept clean at all times by the cleaning staff. Kudos to them for a job well done. We had an old 1990's television in the room, so, no Netflix for us late at night. The refrigerator in the room was stocked good and kept stocked throughout the day. I've read some of the reviews about how the staff was rude to others, at no time did we ever experience rudeness from any staff member. What made my wife and I feel even more welcomed was that the employees would call you by name when they saw us and the bartenders always had our drinks ready when they saw us. (awesome bartenders were Carlos, Baltazar, Joel, Mateo, Ivan) The restaurant staff were also amazing and friendly, (Fancisco,Jesus,Agustin, Ruperta, Willie and Jorge) Unexpected Arctic Blast went through Texas and left us stranded at the resort for an additional 6 days. The Circle One staff Andrea, Erin and the concierge without hesitation worked with us and we were able to stay without having to change rooms. All the bell boys, Jesus, Moshe Margarito and the security Officers who had to help us back to the room several nights (LOL) were awesome. It's not a 5 star resort but the service from the staff is as good as a 5 star resort.

    Horrible Experience with staff at front desk/ Management

    My family of 5 decided to stay at this hotel for our vacation and it was the WORSE experience. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this resort. WE were greeted at the front desk upon arriving and was immediately hounded with a sales pitch for a time share. We told them we were not interested however everyday they were calling and in the hallways early still trying to sell the time shares, after three days on the resort my mom finally had enough of them hounding us and told them we are not interested, they immediately became rude and ignored any request we made afterwards such as calling the front desk for a shuttle to and from the restaurants. We called once and was rudely told its 10 minutes and you have the wait ( that was the manager whom we spoke to) My daughter is a vegetarian, her only option was fries and salad to eat for 6 days. Its a shame and waste of money, there's absolutely zero options for vegetarians and if you decide to not buy there timeshare be prepared to have the worse customer service. There's lots of options in Mexico that will be happy to service and earn your business, DO yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this resort.

    First off realizing this resort was about 17% Occupied. This resort bent over backwards to make our trip fantastic. The place was immaculate. The landscaping was maintained. The staff was wonderful attentive and always a smile and A Hola by the second day they knew my mane. the nightly shows were LOUD some we good some not so much. One thing we found out that the staff works one day a week without pay. So as to keep the place running. Still always a smile. we were all inclusive so tips were supposed to be included however seeing how hard the staff works to keep the place spotless we tipped generously. If you go please take care of the staff they helped make our experience amazing the food was wonderful even thought the buffets were limited and the selections also limited. The dinners in the different theme night was wonderful. If you go please keep in mind that they are doing all they can to make your visit wonderful With the reduced staff and the low occupancy due to Covid 19 the three of us would go back today even though we got back last night.

    Great Value, Amazing Staff

    Our time at BlueBay was fantastic. All of the staff there were incredible. They were so helpful and on top of making sure we treated well. They definitely kept the drinks flowing. Dinners were delicious. I enjoyed the different options each night. Buffet breakfast was good and lunch was repetitive. I would've enjoyed more authentic Mexican food. Most of it was very American. Drinks were usually pretty good. I loved our location at the resort. The room was spacious and the patio backed into a private pool which we enjoyed. The beach bar was pretty close so it was an easy trip down to grab drinks and return to our room if we desired. Huge added plus for me, there is a dive center on site! Dive-X. They will teach you in the pool then take you out for a dive. You can book two dives as well and schedule them for different days. It was my first time diving and their entire team was helpful. I felt safe and had a blast.
