Playacar Palace

My wife and I have visited Playa Car Palace many Times and have always been pleased with the resort and employees. We have also frequented many of the Palace Sister resorts for many years . We are here now and are not impressed with the condition of the room specifically . The room feels small, old , over used and dirty. The service items are lacking and staff doesn’t seem to be helpful as we are used to . It is my hope that the visit will Improve as the week moves forward or we will not be back for another visit .

We came to Playacar with some friends that were celebrating some milestones (birthday and anniversary). From the very beginning, we could tell that Playacar Palace was back and had the same amazing feel, making you feel like you are the most important person there. Thoughts on our trip you might be interested in: 1)Activities - these were somewhat muted as they couldn't get out in the ocean to paddleboard, but we had a blast with Fania and the team. It really did make a difference when Fania organized the event and we enjoyed hanging out with her and appreciated her checking in on us and making sure we were enjoying our time at the resort. For the most part, the pool was busy but not crowded and we never really saw a time that there were an unsafe level of people crowded together. It really was great. 2) Food - it was disappointing for Terraza to not be open, but with a day trip to Moon Palace and Cozumel, we really didn't ever feel like we were having the same restaurant over and over again. Bocelli, the Italian restaurant, is amazing. The food was fantastic and some of the old favorites were back. Sommelier wasn't very good but that was the only downside. Portions seemed larger as well. The Buffet and staff were amazing - loved the cook fresh for egg scrambles and tacos or even my special hamburger and rice dish they cooked for me! We had been to Jamaica Palace and they didn't have buffet, so we were very happy to see it open at Playcar. Food was amazing as always. We visited Momo twice, once for hibachi and once in the restaurant. Both were amazing and the food was great. I recommend the steak and cooking it on the hot stone - really great. We sat outside most of the time and got the best service from Dionisio, Sotero and Fernando! They rocked the entire time we were there. 3) Pool area - the pool bar staff is amazing; from making special drinks concocted by my wife, to Daniella keeping us well hydrated at the pool deck. She was amazing and would always take and clean our Palace Yetis to use for our Lime daiquiri's... don't laugh until you've had one stay cold for an hour. 4) Spa - while the amount of people allowed in was limited, the spa never felt limited and remained as amazing as always. If you can, ask for Sara - she is amazing massuese. 5) Guest Services - from our welcome, to setting up our week with friends and organizing all the activities, the staff was friendly and on point. Even the presentation people were not pushy when we chose not to go. Big props to Abigail who has been a great part of every stay at Playacar over the last 6 years and to Isabella and Natalaya who helped us out. If there was anything to note, it is that the beach was more crowded over the holidays and with the prior erosion from the hurricanes, the space was limited. But that is a minor issue and after the weekend, it got less crowded. Also, the hotel was in continual repair after the hurricanes but you never felt it impacted the stay, just something you noticed as to how hard everyone was working. You won't be disappointed if you go!

We were guests at this resort in early December. Although we had stayed at this resort a number of years ago, we had forgotten what a wonderful gem this place is. We've stayed at other Palaces in-between and enjoy them all, Playacar's service is what makes this place a step above all the others. We enjoyed being greeted with a smile and after a day or two, greeted by name. We thought the food was excellent and never tired of eating our evening meals at the two open restaurants. We did the buffet for breakfast and lunch. We were especially grateful for Isabel's assistance when my husband left his sandals at Cozumel Palace and for helping me with the Palace app. Edar (pool concierage) and Ignacio (lifeguard) were very helpful, Juan and Pedro (servers) learned what our favorite drinks were, and we had a great time with the lobby bar servers, Roger and Herlin and their co-hort. Thank you, everyone, for a wonderful vacation!

Room was beautiful and the service was top notch. Edar, the pool concierge was always there with a towel. Ignacio, (sp?) the lifeguard, was always there to help move a chair or umbrella. Our pool servers, Ana, Pearla, Gabby and Sylvia were the best! Service with a smile and always around to bring a drink or food. Speaking of food...it was delicious. The poolside snack menu was just right and Bocelli and Momo were delicious. Be sure to get the sushi! Will definitely be back!

Took two weeks break from US during pandemic. We were kind of worried about the safety at first but surprised to see how hotels taken caution and how wonderful the staffs provided warmers and greatness service to make our everyday happy. It’s the home from home and we will be definitely back again once pandemic is done! All the stuff from Playacar Palace you ROCKS!!! Thank you Thank you!!!!??????????
