Terrible so far

Worst experience in Cuba yet. Resort has only some areas open and therefore there are lineups for everything. You can't complain about the service as we didn't get any. Waited at the snack bar for an hour and still couldn't get a coffee while the staff chatted. The front desk staff including the manager was no help. We didn't get the room we paid for. Balcony door does not roll open without fighting it. Light in room wouldn't shut off, when I tried to unplug it the receptical came out of the wall. No hot water the firs night. You must line up at 9am every morning to try to book an a la Carte and they only book for the same day. So basically a place if you want to stand in line for your vacation. Our experience so far is a not helpful staff. I think most of the good reviews are fake. That is the experience of others we talked to at the resort. We will see what the cost is to move to better run resort.
Worst Cuba resort so far

Rate this tesort a 2 star at most. We paid extra for a superior room, which was very inferior and absolutely not better than a standard room. The only difference was that we had to lug our suitcases up 2 flight of stairs to a room where the balcony door won't open, the lights don't shut off and you have to unplug it from a receptacle that pulls out of the wall. Front desk was way less than helpful when trying to get the room we booked. If you enjoy standing in line for 20 minutes to get anything to eat or drink, this is the place for you. Sat at snack bar for an hour and no service, while the servers stood talking. So far this is the worst resort we have stayed at in Cuba. Also no where to sit when it rains unless you sit in your room. Not enough chairs as only a couple of the places are open. Went for the buffet and the dinner food was left from Lunch cold and gross. We know this is Cuba and we have been many times. But this resort is the worst so far worse than the 2.5 star we stayed at before. Kind of thinking it may be my last trip to Cuba.
Friendly staff

Biggest issue is a lack of communication. We weren’t told about the beach towels (having to get a slip of paper at the front desk, then go somewhere else to get them), nor were we told about any of the events for the week (beach bbqs, entertainment etc). Nor were we told some of the bars/restaurants were closed (only 1/3 capacity when we were there) .. which was all just a bit frustrating. To get beach towels you give them your credit card and they out through a deposit, then they want to write down your credit card info on a separate piece of paper … I didn’t let them do this, but it was a 20 minute conversation. I was not comfortable with a piece of paper with all my credit info floating around!! Maybe just me but … Food was ok…it’s Cuba, so it is what it is. We only saw a couple small bugs in the room so no concern there. If you’re prone to getting bit (as I am) ..there is some sort of biting bug… you don’t realize you’ve been bitten until the welts show up! No biggie. Happens everywhere …just information. People were nice … most were very friendly… just need a little help with communication. Why not have the weeks activities posted in the lobby?? Oh to be fair.. they are on a tv screen in the piano bar but we didn’t discover that till the last night!! So if we were told to look there?? And maybe give out the towels or the slip of paper at check in??
8th time not a charm

Adios, Cuba. After 8 trips to various places in Cuba we recognized that it’s time to say goodbye to Cuba. Bittersweet, really, as we have many fond memories of trips to Cuba with our son when he was younger. But on this trip two major things went wrong- constant sickness due to the food (I actually lost 4 pounds over 2 weeks while staying at this all inclusive) and my husband got so sick he needed medical treatment. Also, the mattress on our bed was abysmal- thin and we felt the coils poking us underneath so sleeping became a problem. Unfortunately these things weren’t made up for by the exceptionally gracious, friendly and hard-working staff and of course the beautiful beach and ocean. I practically ran through the lobby to the bus taking us to the airport yesterday, not wanting to miss it. I’d had enough. I don’t care if it sounds lame- I’d had enough of feeling sick and not being able to eat and not being able to sleep and I just wanted to return home asap.
Victims of circumstances and overall apathy by team members.

Looks like they are running out of food. No baked good for the least 3 days. All the cheese and cold cuts you can eat. Lots of pasta. No sauce. Beverages are few and far between. Black mould on the ceiling. A lot of apathy here. I have had better food at a super 8 hotel in high level Alberta. The beach was good. Not kept up. And the pool was a constant fight for survival for chairs “thankfully the pool cleaner took 3 days to clean the pool so no one could use it. “ and the dinky cups of beers really brought it all together. Sad really why have a resort when you can’t offer any amenities. This is not really an all inclusive. Can’t recommend for the variety of reasons. Go down the road to one of the new resorts hopefully being less then a year old they have not fallen on squalor and hard times providing the level of service one expects from a 5 star resort Photo is of management getting into it with the pool cleaner after 3 days of cleaning 4 meters square.
