Boeing 737-800 Next Generation

These narrow-body aircraft are part of the Boeing 737 Next Generation family and contribute heavily to WestJet’s low-cost structure and environmental goals by operating with maximized fuel efficiency, quiet engines, and cabin configurations to suit a variety of guest needs.

Split scimitar winglets

The Boeing 737-800 Next-Generations are equipped with Split Scimitar Winglet technology, an improvement on the existing Blended Winglet technology of the Boeing 737 NG family. The combined aerodynamic elements of the retrofit — ventral strakes, scimitar tips, and trailing edge wedges — provide a drag reduction, and corresponding range increase, of 2 percent or more for long-range missions.

Fuel efficient

With a modernized engine and improved aerodynamics, the Boeing 737-800 Next-Generation maximizes efficiency by reducing fuel consumption per seat by an average of 9-14 per cent compared with earlier models.

Improved passenger comfort

The Boeing 737-800 is equipped with modern engines that reduce noise and improve guest comfort, allowing for a more peaceful and relaxing journey.
