The Barcelo was a terrific place to spend my first ever week in Aruba. The hotel and the island felt extremely safe and clean during covid times. Social distancing signs everywhere and masks on inside. The location is stunning, right on a white sandy beach. A handful of restaurants right on the property was so convenient. We loved sitting in the lounge at night listening to the pianist or hanging out in the casino. The high rise area is also fun to explore outside of the hotel, especially at night with the pop up shops. Our room was cleaned daily by the sweetest woman, Belinda. My cousin & I kept forgetting that the room key could not be near your phone as it de-magnitizes it. Needless to say we asked Belinda for help more times the not letting us in, and she did so with a smile and such a happy attitude. We were sure to leave her a nice tip. All of the island locals were very helpful and kind. I highly recommend the Barcelo for a fantastic all inclusive stay and can't wait to return!

My partner and I stayed at Barcelo for about a week. It's a small resort, but there's a lot to explore around the hotel area. The hotel room were okay; kinda small too. We paid for an ocean view, but it was partial ocean view. As a result, we were facing the pool. The bathtubs were also too small for two people. Very disappointing! The beach and pool area were always clean and neat; the people were following COVID regulations very well. The staff were phenomenal. They were always very kind and friendly! I would definitely go back for the customer service. More specifically, Jenny from the front desk was always a great help and Natasha as well when she made our reservations. Also, Michael from the bar was great, so fun! Lastly, the food was AMAZING. This all inclusive has so many options: Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Seafood, etc... and I was never disappointed. I enjoyed my stay so much and I would recommend this hotel for the food and service!

Just got back yesterday. Never review hotels online so you know this was overall not a good stay. I'll begin with what is good about this hotel. The location, pool and beach are great. You can walk to the restaurants as they are right outside the hotel. The beach is beautiful and the pool is very nice. Jimmy at the beach was great. There were a lot of things that were not good about this hotel and therefore we would nice stay there again. This was my family's first time in Aruba. We have twin 7 year olds. Room and service: First, the room we originally reserved wasn't available. Now the night before the trip I went online and looked at other rooms that were about 1K dollars cheaper at this hotel for the week, but we wanted the lenai pool view as we know that when our kids go to sleep we will stay up and have a drink outside. Having the bigger outside area was a huge advantage. So when we checked in the woman at reception said we don't have the lenai room. She wanted to give us a balcony room that she called an "upgrade." Well I knew the prices from the day before and although they might call it an upgrade it was 1K cheaper for the week and it wasn't the room we reserved months in advance. How could this be? Ok we take the "upgraded" room for the night with the promise of putting us in a "beach front" lenai room the next day. When I went back to reception to confirm the move the next morning they said the beach front room only has one king size bed. Well that won't work as we are 4. They said they could move another bed into the room. No. So they gave me the room I had originally reserved with two beds for my family. So that gets taken care of. The rooms are small and not in good shape. I was in room 2107 and there was a crack in the door so big that I could see light from the hallway into our room. The shower didn't drain even after calling to the front desk to get maintenance to take care of the issue. We stood in a large puddle as we showered. One day we needed extra toilet paper in the room. Saw the hotel staff cleaning rooms and asked. Was told that they would be back in 10 minutes. Never returned. The next day the room was cleaned and there wasn't any toilet paper replenished. I had to ask again. No one ever told us where to get beach towels as the towel hut is closed for Covid. I'm not sure why this is the case as they serve food and drinks so I'm not sure why they can't give you four towels per day. After day 5 of going to the front desk to ask for new towels 2 towels showed up on our desk for the beach. Not sure why or what I'm supposed to do with two. Finally, our keys were deactivated 3 times. The third time my wife was taking our daughter back to the room to go to the bathroom. She was obviously upset and in a rush and went to the front desk in her bathing suit to get a new key. She was yelled at by staff that she couldn't be in the lobby in a bathing suit. She wouldn't have had to be if they keys just worked. She was not happy. So overall rooms and service around the rooms are bad. Food: The buffet breakfast is passable but not good. We've traveled a lot and have seen much better food. Lunch at the Beach Club is ok but there is no variation in the menu. We only ate twice for dinner on site which was a bit disappointing. The first night we had the Italian and my wife got sick from an undisclosed tree nut in the food. Obviously this could have been very dangerous. She was ill that evening. We also ate at the sea food restaurant on another night. It was Ok. We wound up making reservations and going out to dinner on all the other nights. We even ate breakfast out one morning. At the end of our stay I went to check out. When I was asked how our stay was I matter of factly said "ok." The woman at the front desk said "just ok?" I said yes. That was it. No follow up questions, no further concern. Not like I wanted to get into it, as we had a flight and had to leave but they might want to think about better customer service. Needless to say we loved Aruba but will not be going back to this hotel. In fact we won't stay at another Barcelo anywhere because I can't spend that kind of money and have a mediocre vacation.

I absolutely loved staying at the barcelo. The location was great and the hotel was well taken care of. Staff were very friendly-loved our concierge Sandra! We upgraded to the royal level and it was well worth it. Food in Aruba is expensive, so I do recommend going all inclusive.

This resort is great for families. It’s in a great location where a lot of exploring and fun can be had! The beach is beautiful. However the pool and resort isn’t the cleanest. I also had a horrible time with food. My mom has a gluten allergy and there was not many options at the restaurants, and their understanding of a gluten allergy is quite lacking. Also, room service is AWFUL. We were in forced quarantine the first night even though we had our covid tests and vaccines. My mom’s portal wasn’t working so we couldn’t prove hers until morning. So we had to stay in our room and order room service for lunch and dinner. The food was very poor quality. I recommend eating at the beach club and Aruban seafood restaurant as much as possible as the rest of the options were severely lacking. Overall, I had a great time, but I don’t plan to be back.
