We were there Dec 24-31 a family of 4. The best parts were the beaches, beautiful white sand, ocean warm and turquiose i miss it already, the staff were super and always smiling and provided great service. Our room maid in block 16 was great and very sweet. The rooms are a little worn down but were clean. The alacart restaurants were great and food was delicious, but buffet was ok, mornings we sometimes had issues with selection but dinner we always found something good. I rated it a 4 only because too much pork in almost everything. The hotel in general was little worn down but ok for Cuba standard, other hotels we stayed at were cleaner and better buffet selection in general. It was crowded and toward end of our vacation it got really crowded. The evening shows were good just dancing i would recommend adding a little variety to them. We never got sick or stomach issues but we were careful. The cappuccinos were delicious. The weather was good we had 2 out 7 days with a little rain that passed in an hour or so. The weather was warm ~25c not too hot. Overall it was very nice and relaxing and we enjoyed ourselves. This was our 5th time to Cuba, ww found the excursions were overpriced but now wish we had gone on at least one, we stayed on the resorr the whole week.

We have been two years in a row to this resort. We have been to Cuba in the past as well and know what to expect and for those of you who complain about everything, please understand its Cuba and not for everyone. This resort provided everything we wanted to enjoy a great vacation. Beach: Pristine, white powder sand and clear turquoise water. Long walks everyday. Room: Comfortable and convenient with great WiFi. Food: Lunch grill terrific and Specialty Restaurants surprisingly good. Buffet was ok and went for breakfast mostly for eggs, bacon and cheese :) There is Sports Bar for those that need French Fries and Pizza food. Great accessible layout to the resort. Some rowdy guests but its cheap and Cuba so to be expected. Resort is huge so plenty of room to relocate away from "action". Service: Great adult poolbar service as well as lobby coffee and beach grill servers. Definitely will be returning next year.

Our visit was from Jan 14-21. The beach was nice and the pool was big enough that wasn’t too crowded and refreshing from the heat. I will never go back to this resort. COCKROACHES every night in the room and my husband found in his food at lunch one day at the buffet. We had someone try to break in our room at night from the sliding door. Husband told security and nothing was done. Food was always running out or didn’t have what was on the menu. Not every day but some days the food was cold. Entertainment during the day by the pool wasn’t great nor was there a lot of activities for kids. Power went out one night. Some tiles in the pool were broken especially by the volleyball net which is a safety hazard. Met a nice family that was staying at the same time but in a different villa and she had makeup stolen, baby cereal, and pack of diapers.... Unbelievable!! Some staff were nice and pleasant. The boardwalk to the beach near the family side of resort wasn’t very sturdy. Some boards were broken or loose and some of the railing was broken.... Safety Hazard!! Very outdated rooms.. Stains on the shower curtain, sheets and blanket. Musty smell. Towels were never changed everyday for fresh ones. No face cloths. Third time to Cuba and the worst experience ever.

Ten reasons why you should stay away this place, if you want to have your children safe and sound

Ten reasons why you'd better go elsewhere instead of #melialasdunas if you want to have your children safe and sound. High beds First floor without barriers No utensil for children No fences around pools Huge gaps in the wooden bridges and its fence Abrupt edge on the sand beach, about half a meter You cannot rely on the internal taxi ( golf carts), they simply ignore your orders and do what they want Gaps in the fence on the second floor balcony, enough for a child to go through Smoking everywhere Sport facilities are dangerous Trust me, I'm not going crazy about that, both my daughters are already injured because of some aforementioned dangers. Good luck! Not to mention awful service, bad food, cockroaches in the buffet, no straws, no spoons for coffee, no nailclippers in the tiendas, no juice ( I mean juice not chemicals), no shrimps, no calmares, no sports on the beach etc. Better go to fiesta Americana in holguin

Stayed from Jan 14-Jan 22 with my daughter who was 8. We were happy to be upgraded for free to a premium room located steps from the kid/activity pool. Room 0314. The resort is quite large so you will get your steps in daily. :) Staff were always pleasant and welcoming with a smile. -Wifi can be purchased for 1 peso for 1 hour in the main lobby by bank. Connection works throughout the entire resort excluding the beach. - towel service is open daily 10-5. If exchanging it's only available from 2-5 daily. We brought our own towel and rotated as ours dried we used the resort towel. -if you are looking to get braids in your hair. The lady at towel booth by kids pool will do it for 20 pesos and does a fantastic job. - maid service was lovely and room always cleaned before noon. -tips are not expected but very much appreciated. -we found the rooms quite cool even when air was turned off. Thankful we traveled with 2 blankets- came in handy. - Market is close to resort. Traveled one way by double decker bus, 2 pesos per person. On way back took a cab for 5 pesos total. -Gorgeous beach as always. No problem finding a lounge chair by the beach or pool. - Beer Garden has a delicious chicken sandwich. French fries was a nice treat too. Open 24 hours! - we ate at Buffet daily and didn't make any reservations. Overall very satisfied with the resort and services.
