Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach

Room was better than expected with some bad reviews out there. Upgraded to King size ocean view. Asked for maid service half way thru our 4 1/2 day stay and never rec’d it. One tiny garbage can. Had to ask for more coffee and creamer day 2. Lines too long to ask for more on subsequent days. No one ever answered the desk phone when we called from the room. Maybe staff shortage? Location was great. We did not rent a car and were able to walk to many restaurants and bars. Watch for service fees on the Main Street eateries. Many had them. Overall the room was nice.

Not only was the beach attendant amazing, his recommendations for the area restaurants and bars was on point. Ask for Jacksene. He is the guy that will get you all the information and services you need!

Good location due its close proximity to the beach but that’s it. The hotel charges a $37 per night resort fee yet the pool wasn’t open during our three night stay. Our room was never cleaned. The market challenged me daily on the free breakfast. Advice: do not stay in the motel across the court yard. If at all possible do not let them put you there. It should be free. Our bed linens had stains. Our curtains had what looked like droppings on them. Rugs were dirty. The brightest and best service are the beach chair/towel service personnel. They are friendly, attentive and genuinely hustle.

We booked a king room for my husband, son, and I as the hotel website stated it slept 3, only to find upon arriving that our room had been changed to two double beds to accommodate us. The king room only had a king bed - no sleeper sofa. So we were forced to deal with the subpar bed situation (my husband is very tall), with no reimbursement for the switch. Probably my biggest complaint however, is the terrible service we received from housekeeping. TWICE we requested at the front desk and by calling for a room clean, and never received one. My third complaint is the exorbitant prices of the food. The restaurants were open sporadically - often we couldn't find anywhere to eat at the hotel and looked elsewhere. I understand that some restaurants may be closed due to Covid, but the closures were not communicated anywhere and seemed very random. Also, the staff working at the restaurants (particularly the Market) were extremely rude. The bright spots of this hotel were the beautiful beach, an employee who greeted us at the front desk, and an employee working on the beach to distribute towels and beach chairs.

We LOVED our stay at Bahia Mar. Great bar staff at the pool, and incredible beach service. A minimal resort fee that includes TWO free drinks per day, comfy beach chairs, the works! Jacksene at Bahia Mar's private beach was amazing. Deserves a raise! Highly suggest seeing if he's working when you're there!
