I’m a Marriott rewards member so I try to always stay in a Marriott. Picked this one as it was close to the cruise port and this suited our needs for a one night stay. The room we were given was on an upper floor and was an end unit. The room was spacious with a wrap around balcony. However, the view was of the other hotels and street but since we were just using as a place to sleep it wasn’t that big of a deal. The bathroom was probably the smallest bathroom I’ve ever had in any hotel. I guess they were trying to get me used to the small bathroom on the cruise. The hotel was also in walking distance to all the expensive shopping and nice restaurants. I don’t think I would select this hotel if I was staying in Honolulu for any longer.

Nothing wrong with this hotel - it was alright. Originally, placed in a junior suite in the annex building. Rooms were very small, offered view of parking lot. My other half negotiated that we were moved to the main tower as he has elite status. The room was much more spacious, had a balcony, offered an ocean view - the experience was night and day. It does have an alright pool with hot tub - never went in either. The best thing about this hotel is that it is a five to ten minute walk to Waikiki Beach. Please note both rooms were noisy with the outside noise, though they do provide white noise machines.

Sitting out on the lounge area at the beach last night I ordered a Calamari and a cobb salad. The Calamari arrived within 15 minutes. It was advertised as "Crisp Thai" It was limp soggy and not Thai. also half the order was onion rings?? who does that?? I would normally have sent them back but I was starving. My wife refused to eat any. A half hour later the Cobb salad came. Again disgusting. Limp watery lettuce laying flat on a plate. Could not find any boiled eggs, there was some meant laying on this mess but we did not know what it was so we asked the waitress to take it back. The only thing redeeming about this nights experience was the waitress. She was very kind and apologetic. We of course told her it was no fault of hers. Obviously no one is inspecting the food coming our of the kitchen here. The chef should be sacked, also the food and beverage manager, maybe the hotel manager also. When one pays 4-500$ for a room I would expect incredible food. Not at this place. Do not eat here. We went from the Four Seasons in Ko Olina and had probably the best food experience in our life to the worst experience in a long time.

Stayed 1 night. I was given a room right in front of the elevator, even though my profile is notated away from elevator as preference. I am a Gold member and booked directly. Room had a musty smell that wouldn't go away even when I blasted the AC to get rid of the humidity. OK that's fine, it's Hawaii. Hot water takes at least 5 minutes of running to finally come on. Whatever, I can deal with all of that especially for the relatively cheap rates this property charges. I was lying in bed shirtless at 3 AM on my laptop with the lights off. I felt an itch on my shoulder, went to scratch it, and it was a cockroach! Scared the daylights outta me. I flicked it off out of reaction and it flew somewhere near the corner of the room. Gross. I called the front desk, no answer. I spoke to the manager on duty the next morning. Her response was "This is Hawaii." Cookie cutter apology with a 5,000 point compensation. Is that a joke? That's not compensation. This property is 50k points per night. Manager told me she would "investigate" and email me later. I haven't heard from them since. Lastly, I paid for the room rate with a different credit card from the one I handed over for incidentals at check in. However I was charged twice for the room rate, once on each credit card. Even my final bill shows it as charged twice for one night. I was told that the authorization would fall off, but instead it has posted on both credit cards. I was charged double! I still have to give them a call to deal with this. What a disaster this place was. I was so grossed out, I couldn't sleep that night.

What ever could be wrong is wrong right now when staying at the courtyard Marriott. 18 floors with only one working elevator. Lines long and people crowded to get to their rooms Hot water was hit or miss. When you call the front desk they ask you to turn the water off and try again in 30 minutes. The cost is too high to have a mediocre hotel and fall under the Marriott name. Room was large. Beds were broken in and super soft. TV is a nice size, refrig in the room and decent size bathroom. No view at all unless you like looking at a parking lot or a busy street with homeless people.
