Awesome stay

Lived on Oahu all my life never experienced the Hyatt at Maui before so needless to say we had an amazing experience and want to come back with the entire family. There was so much for kids to do as well as adults. We did have a car but honestly everything that was needed was right there. Although COVID restrictions are a bummer we still had a blast.

Excellent customer service and safety measures in place. Professional and friendly staff. Loved the updated and clean room and comfortable bed. Will stay at this resort again in the future and definitely recommend. We had dinner at Japengo Restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Making Reservations few days prior for the restaurants is a must at this COVID time.
Beautiful place to stay!

We love the Hyatt and stay here each time we go to Maui, they always seem to exceed our expectations, I would highly recommend staying here whether you are traveling as couples or families, it will accommodate both.

My wife and I stayed at this resort for our honeymoon and were very satisfied with this stay. Very friendly staff. Clean environment and up to date with all Covid-19 regulations. We look forward to visiting this resort again in the future. Thank you!
Loved this resort! There were very few things that couldve been better.

Loved this resort! The property was gorgeous and sprawling without making it feel like you had to walk forever to get anywhere. The pool area was absolutely lovely with my favorite feature being how warm (perfect temperature) and deep it was and of course the cave. The slide was also exceptionally well done. Fun and thrill for all ages without being too scary for those who are more timid. On some days around mid day it did get very near impossible to find a beach chair that was unoccupied so keep this in mind depending on your vacationing preferences. I’ve heard from other reviews that on peak days the limited seating has people camping out/reserving them early. The beach here was great although there are some underwater rocks a bit of the ways out to get over if you want to swim deeper. Just a bit of a walk south is a beach with rock-free swimming to enjoy. Waves and currents stayed fairly low during the trip. Fitness center was missing basics like bands and kettlebells but it’s location with a door going right out to the beach was a thrill. Location wise this resort is a part of a string of resorts connected by a gorgeous walk that seems safe at all hours although certain hotels (like the Hyatt residency club) watering grass creates some swampy sections. Along this path is a shopping center about 20-30 mins walk away with a grocery store. My only issues with this resort are the following: Security was not really there. To be clear I felt physically safe however one night there was a large group gathering and smoking large cigars inside of one of the almost open air hallways which was smelly. I also smelled marijuana on multiple occasions even away from the smoking area even while near the pool area. The convenience store on resort has awful hours (closes at 5pm) so it really isn’t that useful. Everything shuts down in this area really early due to covid restrictions. If you haven’t found food by 8pm you better rush. Everything in Kaanapali seems closed by 9. There isn’t any economical food on resort past when Umalu stops serving food which I believe was 7 or 8pm. I tried the food at Umalu, Swan Court, and Japengo. Umalu had some great drinks at the usual high resort prices. The happy hour menu left something to be desired really only having 2 alcoholic drinks. The daily cocktail special was neat too. Didn’t try too much too the food but what I did have here was good. Nothing special or too inspired. Swan Court had some fantastic breakfast entrees that I would wholeheartedly recommend exploring. The views from the restaurant are phenomenal and the waiters seemed to get to know us over the trip. The buffet was good. Could get boring to do repeatedly. Japengo had some high priced food. I am not one to dine at this price point so I really shouldn’t comment but the dishes sounded clever and the ones we ordered seemed thoughtful. Sushi/sashimi isn’t very filling so I would’ve wished there were some cheaper items that would make it a full meal without dipping into a 100+$ meal. Every high end sushi place has this problem. I loved the ambience and scene of this restaurant. Well done on the part of the resort. Reservations were really difficult to score here with it only being open on weekends. Plan ahead .
