Overpriced!!!

I honestly wouldn;t have picked this resort if it wasn't for a destination wedding. Unfortuantely, the staff needs a ton of training to actually be welcoming and helpful. The summary of the trip is that the input overpriced and the output is mediocore. I might consider bringing my kid back for a couple of days just for the dolphin cay and adventure park but that's it!
Memorable, Luxurious and Scenic

We stayed at the reef for 4 nights. While we did go to downtown the first day just around check in, we remained in the resort for the rest of the time. The resort has everything - beautiful beaches, pools, places to eat and relax etc. Staff is super helpful, smiling and down to earth willing to go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms were exquisite - we loved every aspect of it. Ample beach and pool chairs. The pools and beaches were clean as well as the water temperature was lovely - once you get into the water, you just don't want to come out of it. Restaurants are marvelous - reservations are recommended. Overall, the resort is massive and 4 nights is just enough to experience a bit of everything. But I feel more the merrier. They have a piece of gem which they have decorated and kept so beautifully that you would feel that you are part of something so majestic and gorgeous. Highly recommended for couples, groups, families - there is everything for everyone. Just pack your bags and go - you must experience this!
Expect to wait and not be treated fairly if you have an issue, otherwise great trip

This vacation got off to a very rocky start. I appreciated the transient area; this was convenient when we arrived earlier than check in time and were able to change and get out to explore. However, when we were given a room we were not told there was not any hot water. When we called to report it with only a few hours to shower and get ready for dinner, we were told someone would be by to check within an hour. An hour went by, no one. So we called again. At that time we were told it was wide spread and engineers were working on the issue. We communicated the needs of our family (this included a 4 year old) and honestly hot water should not be considered above and beyond. After many calls to the front desk, Craig, the manager called back and gave me an attitude as if we were the problem. It was uncomfortable and did not meet the expectations of an expensive resort. We were given another room after 10:00pm, again, unacceptable. As paying guests of the resort we should have been proactively notified of the issue, not lied to several times when we called to report the problem and lack of resolution.

Beautiful beaches, pools, very nice food especially the marina village. very relaxing and everything was very clean. i just didn't find the hotel staff friendly and helpful. i almost felt like i was bothering many of them if i had a question.
We loved The Reef

We loved the 1 bdrm ,2 bath 974 sqft room. We liked the private pool and beach and the Cascades food shop. Aqua venture was good, but the lazy rapid river was the best(not lazy). The resort shuttles were timely and allowed movement around the resort. Do as much or as little that you want at The Reef. We saved $ by a quick visit for groceries to prepare in the full kitchen.
