The Grand Hyatt was an excellent location for us! As we revisited some places and tried new ones, we were at ease walking to our destinations or hopping on a subway at Grand Central Station. The hotel was spacious, staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

Mini vacay for some me time. Relaxed in the middle of the hustle of mid-town Manhattan. Market to go had many choices of food. Room was comfortable. Bathroom a little small but, manageable. Large screen TV, bonus!

Very large room with separate area to eat at Table for kids. “Cooler” in room vs a refrigerator. My water bottles that I brought frozen actually kept the cooler cold as they slowly melted and kept other drinks I brought cold. I was very impressed with the hotel and will go back for sure.

Second year in a row at this convention. The hotel fell short. No in room coffee makers. Odd drink and market voucher to drive traffic to those spots but then they couldn't handle the flow of people. Everyone I spoke with had a completely different room rate.

Unfortunately this is the first "Poor" rating I've given this hotel. I have stayed here several times over the past couple of years, and my experience has always been positive. This adventure started the moment we got to the top of the escalator at 7:30 pm. As we approached the lobby, we noticed it was very loud. Once we could see the check-in queue, our mouths dropped as the line for check-in extended well outside the roped area, all the way to the escalators. It took us almost 45 minutes to check-in at 7:30 at night! They only had THREE people working the front desk, as the fourth was working the "VIP" line exclusively. Unfortunately, this hotel needs a major update. The rooms are really starting to show their age. Our room (#2368) had a floor lamp that was sagging and ready to topple over, credenza doors that were misaligned and hard to open/close, a HVAC vent that was dented in like someone had kicked it in, and a loud clunking noise that occurred every 5 minutes or so, and continued 24 hours a day. There is ZERO soundproofing in these rooms as we clearly heard our neighbors (thankfully they were just talking), and every single person that walked by in the hall could be heard clear as day...even if it was at a normal decibel. The hotel market store was a disaster. Trying to spend our $15 per night "Credit" proved to be an adventure. First night it took us over 30 minutes to navigate the line at 10:30 at night. The second day it again took us nearly 30 minutes to get through the line even though it was a much shorter line than the night before. BOTH days, there was only one cashier on duty, and they were having system issues. First night, credit card machines were down. Second day, the register itself went down just as we were about to pay. After waiting 20 minutes for it to reboot, the cashier told us we couldn't use our $15 Credit because that part of the system wasn't working...would have been nice to know that BEFORE waiting 20 minutes for the register. As we were walking away in disgust, the cashier decided to "give it another try", and it worked. As far as the culinary offerings go, I don't think I would be rushing back to try them anytime soon. Most, if not all, looked like they had been there for quite some time. This hotel has one thing you can't argue with...CONVENIENCE!!!! We traveled from New Haven, CT to the hotel, and then from the hotel to Madison Square Garden without ever having to brave the pouring rain!!
