By far the best thing are the animals on the Savannah. Waking up to giraffes, zebra and ostrich’s outside of your bedroom window is truly wonderful. Having said that this isn’t my favorite Disney property. Firstly the villas are in need of refurbishment. As always they have a great floor plan and really comfortable beds. Everything seems to involve a walk along an exceptionally long corridor, which is a little depressing with worn and stained carpet. If you enjoy a morning walk there really isn’t anywhere to walk to. There is only one main pool, which depending on the location of your villa, can be a very long walk. Because of its location it is a very peaceful hotel but is the most remote of all the Disney accommodation.

Love this resort....but, hopefully you have a car and can drive to McDonalds?

We love this resort and are DVC vacation owners at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was not an easy decision to travel from Chicago right now but our hearts were with Disney and we made the decision to travel and be as safe as possible. The pandemic is terribly hard on Disney, its employees and those visiting that love it. Because of the current situation and knowing our DVC points needed to be used we had our pick of many resorts to stay at which would normally not be the case. Once Disney announced that Sanna (their restaurant that is open during this time) would be doing mobile order, this was great news and we decided we were sold. We had sit down reservations booked 60 days out at Sanna but cancelled because knowing to go ordering would be an option sold us on coming to this resort. We could get the beloved bread service and dishes for our kids would enjoy while eating in the comfort of our room. We placed our dinner order at 7:32 and were given an arrival time of 10pm. We couldn't believe this was the case so walked down to see what we should do (kids 4/8). The manager GC told us that they are busy and we could try back around 9:50 we said we understand the situation they are in but isn't the timeframe a bit crazy? He asked us if we had a car (we did not rent one) and advised we travel to McDonalds or Wendy's to find a cheeseburger for our kids. Totally understand the struggles of everyone involved right now but wow, what a puzzling way to speak to a guest, especially at the cost of being a DVC owner or paying cash to stay at this type of a resort, baffling to suggest traveling offsite to a McDonalds, by a manager? Strange times but wow what a strange way to treat a guest. For anyone traveling, this resort is amazing. We love it. Just plan ahead and store enough food in your room so you can enjoy the most out of your stay.

My wife, family and I spent a week at the Kidani village at Animal Kingdom lodge. Our room was texted to us prior to 4pm check in time. Got right in with Magic band. The room was large. Had 1 bedroom then 2 bedroom savanna view. Plenty of room. Super large balcony. Every time you went outside you were able to relax with all kinds of animals. Spend just the little bit extra for the savanna view. It’s totally worth it. The place is kept super clean. Easy parking out of the sun if you drive or rent a car. Full kitchen with everything needed. Walmart and Publix less than 10 minutes away. Will definitely be back. Already missing this place. It was amazing.

We just returned from a stay here to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation. We had a one bedroom savanna view. We just loved sitting on our balcony watching the animals especially in the mornings when they were all waking up. So relaxing. Service was great. My daughter slept on the pull out couch which wasn’t very comfy. We requested a mattress topper and they brought two instead of just one. It made it so comfy. They also brought us plenty of coffee and creamer every day. We loved making coffee in our room and watching the sun rise. We also ate at Sanaa and had a great chocolate martini at the lounge. Loved every minute of our stay here and did not want to leave!

Disney Kidani succeeds at all levels, even during this pandemic. The staff keeps things safe and friendly. The facility is perfect. Pools with shade, the constant entertainment of animals and great food at Sanaa.
