We just returned from our first time at a DVC property after staying several times at other Disney properties. We were in a 1 BR villa, building 29 with access to Peninsular Rd bus stop. Very happy with this location as it is easy walk to the main pool and food/beverage spots. If you are using disney busses, try to request Peninsular Rd area when doing online check in as they are the first bus pick up and drop off. OKW has a very relaxing vibe, wonderful staff. We felt very safe with their COVID precautions. The villa was so beautiful and spacious. They also provide boat access to Disney springs but it is currently not running due to COVID. Even though there is only one bathroom, there are two good sized dressing areas with vanities/sinks, as well as a washer/dryer too

We are DVC members and stayed at Old Key West during a recent visit to WDW during the time of COVID-19 restrictions. Overall the resort was a nice place to stay and offered enough amenities to make their guests comfortable given all the restrictions in place. The studio suite is one of the larger studio's of all the DVC resorts and if you're staying close to the hospitality house everything you'll need is within walking distance. Old Key West is a large property, so if you're not staying near the hospitality house then you may need to use the bus to get a round the resort. While we stayed at Old Key West, we ate at Olivia's for breakfast and dinner, bought drinks from the bar, and used the resort's main pool which was all nice to have on property given the limited options available in the theme parks. The only reason I did not rate Old Key West with 5 stars is the bus transportation was very poor. Boat transportation to Disney Springs was closed due to COVID-19, so unless you brought a vehicle the only way to get around WDW was the bus or through a ride share service. As with a lot of large WDW resorts busses traveling to theme parks are not very well coordinated and often times they are full before you can even ride them. This was especially true with COVID-19 restrictions limiting the number of riders. The worst was while waiting for bus to Hollywood Studios, we had to watch 6 busses to Magic Kingdom, 2 busses to Animal Kingdom, 2 busses to EPCOT and 1 bus to Disney Springs drive past the bus stop until a bus to Hollywood Studios finally showed up.

We love Disney resorts, and this one didn't disappoint. Rented a 2-bedroom villa thru David's DVC Rentals (very easy process, highly recommend). Villa sleeps 9 - a king bed, 2 queen beds, fold out sofa, and fold out chair. 2 full baths and a jetted tub in the master (more on that later). And because this is a DVC property - small dining area - table and four chairs; a full size kitchen, stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave. Several glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and dishes (all glass). Also a full size washer and dryer. The "big" pool is near Hospitality House & features a sandcastle water slide. We used the quiet pool and hot tub near our villa. Saw a quick service window and bar near the pool. Okay - the "jetted tub"... disappointment....not typical Disney service... We filled the tub up and turned on the jets and a black, slimy looking "gunk" shot out of the jets. I'm sure it was because it hadn't been used in a while, but still..... Not good.... Since we were checking out the next day, we wrote a note to "Mousekeeping" about what happened. Hopefully they fixed the issue before the next guests arrived. Also, I'm not sure if face masks are required at the hotel, but we wore ours and most other guests did too. Hand sanitizing stations are set up (literally) everywhere and we felt completely safe. Buses are not loading to capacity, and the drivers made sure to physically distance during seating. We would definitely recommend this resort and will definitely be returning.

We became DVC members 2018 and have been trying to visit all the resorts to see what each has to offer. We recently stayed at a 1BR villa in the 32 Turtle Rd area. The resort is subtle Disney..nice landscaping..room was very clean (except the jets in the tub..which is something that often gets over-looked in resort cleaning). It is very spacious. We were lucky enough to be near a bus stop. As far as the pros- space/landscape/clean/quiet/can park in front of room..cons- sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on..and, as with most large DVC villa resorts, everything is quite a walk (pool/main check-in/bus stop). I hate most of the sofa beds on Disney property...and prefer the trundle type beds they are remodeling to..with more supportive mattresses. We were one family...but it would be awkward if we were two families sharing the 1BR because all the clothing storage space is in the BR and there is only one toilet though the tub and shower are separate. It seems more for older guest..and not as appealing to people with younger kids. Of course, you always get GREAT Disney service from cast members.

We ended up at the Old Key West Resort as a result of our original resort having its opening delayed. Let me start with the positives, the overall property is very nice and peaceful, the room was nicely appointed and beds were comfortable. We requested a water view and got just that, a serene little pond visible off our balcony. Negatives - the room was on the smaller side with only two chairs to sit in, one of our bath towels had mildew on it, and our neighbors, separated by a standard door, carried on loudly until about 3 AM. Not sure I would stay here again if I had to pay full price for the room, but overall it is a pleasant resort.
