    We stayed here 3 nights in a 2BR villa in building 42. Positives: -Room was large and spacious, has everything you need for an extended stay. The washer/dryer and full kitchen is a nice bonus. -Close to Disney and Disney Springs, a short Uber/Lyft ride to the parks, appx $11. Ends up being the same or less than paying $25 parking at Disney parks. If you have little kids, Uber car seat is about $20-$25 each way. -Price was reasonable -Pools were pretty nice and updated -Beds were comfortable and firm Negatives: -Room smelled horrible. Damp, mildew smell that smacks you right in the face when you walk in. All your belongings will smell and feel damp even with the AC cranked. I had to wash all our stuff when I got home regardless if it was dirty because everything smelled. We had other family members staying in a different room and it smelled the same. -The cleaning was questionable; I found a piece of glass on the floor and the glassware/coasters looked like they hadn’t been replaced in several stays. -The safe was broken and the toilet was loose/separated from the floor. -There is a timeshare sales push. I read the reviews beforehand so I knew what to expect. I politely declined without feeling pressure. -Furniture, decor, carpet, etc. was dated -No elevator Nearby: A large Walgreens with an expanded selection of grocery items to include liquor and beer/wine, Chick-fil-A, Hurricane grill & wings, Starbucks. I would not recommend staying here solely based on the damp mildew basement smell in the room.

    I have been an owner since 1991 in Lakes from 1991 to 1996 and then made the mistake of trading in my 2 bd to a Cascades lock off. I should have stayed with the 1 week. As an owner you should be treated like one. They don’t care about the owners because they have already have our money. They treat renters better because they want their money. it is disheartening every time I go I have a problem with the room I am assigned even after I book in advance and am specific. Luckily this time I was assisted by maintenance supervisor James and Cascades manager Brenda. If not for them my vacation would have been ruined. We need better service in guest services. I checked in at 11 and didn’t get in a room u til after 5. James saw I was upset with all my luggage and ruined groceries and stopped to ask me what was wrong. He brought me and my guest into a a room with AC and said he wasn’t leaving me until everything was straightened out. He then contacted Brenda and she solved my problem with one call and Turned everything around. She then checked up on me during my stay and so did James. No one from main office ever contacted me. It is a great place for anyone renting due to the location but not owning because how owners are treated. I am not the only one who had this problem because I was listening to other owners having same issues. I hate that you can’t easily sell it or that they won’t buy it back as they can sell it very quickly. They wait till you don’t want to pay the high maintenance fees and let it go which ruins your credit. Every time I go there its never a pleasant experience. The only thing that saved this trip was James and Brenda and I am writing this to send them my thanks for all they did. Their help was greatly appreciated.

    This is my home resort when I am in Florida. I have been coming here for 19 years and the place looks as good now as this is my home resort when I am in Florida. I have been coming here for 19 years and the place looks as good now as when I first visited. All the pools, Jacuzzis and on site amenities are good. The the restaurants are adequate but we preferred the local restaurants in the neighborhood. We like to explore and find new bars and hot spots. You won't be disappointed.

    Ok, so, we are still in the resort. Pros: close to Disney Springs AND Walgreens. Cons: bad guest service, they seem kinda angry when you ask for anything. Dirty hottub. Lousy WiFi. I asked for the stove to be fixed and they said that the flickering light was normal (for real?) and in case of a short circuit or fire it will shut off on its own. Great answer. I dont mind paying extra for a package delivery but I want a good customer service.

    Timeshare Scam

    The resort itself is beautiful but it's timeshare affiliates are shady and high pressure. Ended up being sold an "Explorer Package" because i said I enjoyed my stay and I figured it was all legit due to the high end appearances of the resort. Turns out I paid double the booking rate for a trip that wasn't even close to what I initially booked. Now they explain it as I put a deposit down on a timeshare purchase which I already expressly said I wasn't interested in. BEWARE.... the resort offers you "no pressure" deals to popular attractions to get you in with scammers.
