We just got back from last weekend to celebrate my son’s 2nd bday. I particularly book this hotel bec he likes the big connect 4, soccer and the putt putt. Unfortunately, these were close bec of the renovations.. wish they would have given notice that these area would also be close or they could have move the portable ones somewhere since the property is big. Also, when we asked somebody we keep getting different answers. But a guy named Mark at least made an effort to check. Pros: rooms are big, bike rentals are included in the resort fee. There are water refill in the pool. Most of the staff at the pool area are very attentive asking if you need food or drinks... though there were some who seems to be really lazy in helping especially the guy in the bike rental. Adult pool is nice. Cons: I suggest that the lifeguard in the pool area wont be allowed to use cellphone while on duty so they could watch the kids.. my husband who has my son on his lap in the slide got kicked bec the person behind him didn’t have the patience to wait. The pool water is cold too. The property itself doesn’t feel luxurious if that is what you are looking for but the rooms are decent. Parking is not included in the resort fee. Thank you to those staff who tried to make your our stay comfortable and I hope the lazy ones learn from them.

Quiet, serene, private and comfortable hotel

I loved my recent stay at the Hyatt in Indian Wells. This is a semi-quiet time of the year in the Coachella Valley, so the hotel was not crowded. The service personnel were wonderful--friendly and helpful but low key as well. My room was on the 4th floor with a gorgeous view of several fairways at the Indian Wells Golf Resort, which is part of this complex of two hotels and two golf courses (Renaissance Esmeralda hotel is on the opposite end of the property). I know these hotels are trying to appeal to families with children who want waterpark-like entertainment. But that's not my objective so it was especially nice to not have all of that commotion going on during my stay.

    Great Stay - Despite Renovations

We stay at this resort once or twice a year - usually once for my birthday, as well as for one additional long weekend getaway - so we obviously enjoy it. And although I've reviewed the property before, I wanted to update my review to reflect the really great experience we had this time. First, the resort was clean. No dirty dishes left in the hallways for days (something we have noticed on prior trips). The maid service was also far more thorough and thoughtful in the maintenance of our room. And the updated rooms are all very nice and comfortable. Second, our stay was not impacted by the outdoor renovations/additions of the family pool area, Our room was quiet and peaceful, and our days by the adult pool were equally tranquil. The adult pool is one of the main attractions for us at this resort. I like children well enough but don't enjoy pool time with them (and their often oblivious parents. There is a time and place for temper tantrums and dirty diapers, but NOT during my time at the pool!). As a side note: The expanded pool area for families will surely be great for families once it's finished later this winter (three story water slides, etc...). I just hope the property maintains the serenity of the adult pool (I still won't want to hear screaming children next door). Third, the resort staff was helpful and pleasant. I want to highlight one staff member by name because he provided us such excellent customer service: Ish, who works the front desk could not have been more professional, courteous, pleasant or extremely helpful. I remember him from a prior visit to the property, and I was really happy to see him again. Hyatt is lucky to have him. As an aside, The Agave Sunset cafe waitstaff was attentive (something sorely lacking on prior visits to the cafe - probably because they were understaffed). Part of our food order was delayed on this visit, but this time, the manager came by to personally apologize to us fo the delay. She was very hands on and assisted the waitstaff, while visiting with patrons to ensure they were enjoying their dining experiences. I don't need anyone (manager or waitstaff) to fawn over me, but it sucks to be be ignored and to wait thirty minutes to order a second margarita or for food to arrive - both things have happened to us on prior visits to the cafe (we kept going back because the food and drinks were actually good, the live music is usually good, and because of proximity (some nights you just don't feel like driving)). I can happily report that despite the short delay in the arrival of our food on this visit to the cafe, the waitstaff made regular appearances, and the manager worked hard to look after patrons and to make sure guest experiences were good. As usual, the food was great, and the live music was also great. I'm so glad the resort got a good manager in place in the cafe to make the overall experience so much better for patrons than it had been. All this good stuff being said, there were two sour notes for us on this visit. The first was really sour, so I feel compelled to mention it; I was told the resort does NOT recycle. Not even plastic water bottles. I'm not sure if the city or county don't offer recycling (something I'd find very hard to believe in this day and age) or if the resort doesn't recycle, but it was extremely disappointing to learn that there was no recycling at the resort, particularly as so much disposable stuff was generated by hotel practices (plastic food containers and drink cups, etc...). We have to start taking care of our environment and making responsible choices for our disposable items. Hyatt, if you don't want to recycle, then at least use compostable plastics. The second sour note was that we feel that the resort does not reward loyalty, and I'd like to encourage them to do so. As already mentioned, we visit the hotel regularly, and while one staff member welcomed us back after we mentioned that we'd stayed there before, there was no additional note of appreciation for our continued patronage. I don't need a free room, but some small token of appreciation (particularly as we visit very regularly for my birthday - a card?) would go a long way to make us feel even more valued as customers, given that we choose to visit this resort over and over and could certainly go elsewhere. All of this being said, we will be visiting the resort again, probably in February, and we look forward to it (and will probably take our own refillable water bottles)! Thanks, Hyatt, for addressing cleanliness issues, keeping valued employees like Ish, and and for hiring a good cafe manager.

Not very pleased compared to other Hyatt around the world.

I would say that since its a very big property and very vast, the staff are not able to coupe with the customers and some staff need proper training. I may be a bit fussy but since I travel the world over and stay at various Hyatt always, I would rate this as just average and nothing to be proud of.
