The only thing to pay attention: few rooms face to the service building of the next hotel. They are not as quiet as the experience is supposed do be. But they accepted to change our room the day after our arrival. That was awesome then.
Experience at Meila

My experience was less than pleasant. I wasn’t treated nicely and information wasn’t provided in an adequate manner, especially the benefits associated with the Level. There were issues with our room and other services provided.
Just what we needed, a relaxing week

We are a couple without children and chose the Adults only Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort. We took ‘The Level’ option which provided private check in and access to Quimera restaurant as well a private beach area…but best of all, we had the privilege of a personal concierge EDDIE who looked after us throughout our stay. Eddie made the difference for us, anytime we needed to reserve a table in one of the restaurants we would WhatsApp Eddie who would take care of it even at last minute. At check in and check out Eddie met us and took care of our luggage and arrangements. Essentially all we had to do was relax and enjoy the wonderful environment and services the Melia Punta Cana beach resort had to offer. The room was enormous on beachside and was regularly looked after by housekeeping. We upgraded the free massage service to a full body massage. The YHI wellness is well equipped with relaxing water treatment, sauna and steam room in a relaxing and Beautiful environment. The massage was one of the best we had. Ample options for restaurants and a great pool bar in their Tropical pool (enormous). Every staff member was extremely polite and happy. We did not participate directly to any of the daily activities such as yoga on the beach or Pilates or dance classes etc but we did enjoy watching them and there are activities every day throughout the day. We used the gym most days which is well equipped with ‘Life Fitness’ treadmills, cycling & rowing machines and weight stations. The gym staff were on hand and present. We highly recommend Melia Punta Cana Beach for adult couples and the Level option for that extra attention. Big shout out to Eddie who was really our best buddy and go to person for anything we needed during our stay.

What makes this resort worth the visit is the staff we were The Level guests which was worth the extra this is a large resort so getting around can be challenging at times There is a shuttle but wait times can vary so being level our suite was in the 1500 block with was perfect we were steps away from the pool private Member area pool and beach .The food in the restaurants was good sometimes very good .We found the buffets to be a little lack luster and finding food a certain time was a challenge but definitely no lack of beverages after 10 am Now for the staff We had Eddie Solutions as our personal concierge he was absolutely amazing if you can request him do so you won't be disappointed The pool bar has great staff as well and work hard to keep everyone happy Moses is the man !!! Gustavo and Marbel were awesome as well Marbel was so sweet always smiling and singing we are going to miss her ! The biggest downside was no music around the pool I mean ya we didn't want the boom boom boom constantly but some nice classic music or something would have been nice and was voiced by alot of the guests !
Paradise!

We stayed a Melia Punta Cana Wellness Resort at the end of February/beginning of March and had an amazing stay! We had a rocky start thanks of course to Air Canada flight delays from Toronto (big surprise there) but once we finally walked into the lobby of the resort we were overwhelmed by the calm beauty of the space. As it is quite a long resort from front to back (the beach) they have shuttles running every 12 minutes so we didn’t have to make the walk on our first night. We did have an issue on that first night with the people in the room next to us partying way too loud well into the night. Several calls were made to the front desk and an attempt was finally made by a staff member to get the guests to quieten down but it didn’t work. It was nearing 2:30am by the time the offenders finally called it quits. We were not in the best mood. In the morning, we approached the people at the front desk and briefly explained our situation and how we weren’t happy with the response of the overnight staff. We were immediately taken to speak with the on-duty Guest Services person – Katty Mendez. She listened, she genuinely sympathized and within minutes she had spoken to the manager and they agreed to change our room. We did have to pack up our stuff and store it for a few hours but we were going to be on the beach anyway so we didn’t mind. We made our way back to the lobby around 3:30, our bags were found and we were taken by one of the resort staff to our new room. We started out in building 6 but were moved to building 2 which is right in front of the pool, a seconds walk to beach and the breakfast/lunch restaurant. The rest of our vacation was absolutely perfect thanks to Katty! Now for general comments: Grounds were GORGEOUS, well maintained and clean. There was zero excuse for anyone to drop garbage as there were small garbage bins scattered throughout the entire resort (even on the beach). Loved all the little benches, swings and hammocks scattered around. Plenty of spots to take your pictures for Insta! And lots of fountains and ponds and birds of all kinds to enjoy. Even a couple of cats roam the grounds! Peaceful – if you’re looking for a party this is not the resort for you. There isn’t music blasting by the pool or on the beach (unless there is a dance or exercise class being run). And there are lots of organized activities throughout the day to take part in if that’s your thing. They did have I believe nighttime entertainment at the Family Resort next door as well as a casino. We chose to crash on one of the couches in the lobby bar after supper, get an amazing cocktail and just people watch. They did have some music (live and recorded) playing in the background for atmosphere. Staff at all levels are all willing to help you with anything you need. If you don’t see what you want or need, just ask as they are more than willing to take care of you. Food – we never go to the a la carte restaurants and always take advantage of the buffet restaurants. We love the more relaxed atmosphere plus getting whatever food you want and the amount you want. At Melia Punta Cana breakfast and lunch are served at the restaurant by the beach - Serendipity and dinner is served in the restaurant by the lobby - Mosaic. We have zero complaints about the food – tasty, plentiful and varied every meal. Pool – as we weren’t willing to get up at 7am to set up our towels by the pool we stuck to the beach (I can look at a pool anytime but the beach is where I want to be) and there were always chairs available. We did go in the pool a couple of times and it was very nice and refreshing. One note – unlike other resorts we’ve been too there aren’t pool side or beach front waiters running about to take drink or snack orders (unless perhaps in the Level area) but we had no issue walking to the bar to get what we wanted. Beach – well it’s Bavaro Beach of course it’s gorgeous! Sadly, the DR is also having to deal with the sargasso washing up on the beach like in Mexico but not to the same degree. Many resorts, including Melia Punta Cana have put a boom out in the water to help prevent a lot of it from hitting the beach and it makes a huge difference. Walking – unless you take the shuttles back and forth from the front to the back yes you need to be prepared walk the ‘yellow brick road’. It took us about 10 minutes to get from our room to the lobby but we are walkers so had no issue whatsoever with it. I will issue one warning – we were told we were supposed to get a Welcome Package, that included one free 30-minute massage OR a meal in the Seafood or Japanese restaurant, a couple of days in. We were taken to the sister resort (family resort) and only then found out that it was a sales pitch for their Melia Rewards program. The young lady we had was lovely and it took about 45 minutes to go through it all and in the end agreed it wasn’t a program for us – don’t think her supervisor was happy with that but oh well. We left without getting the promised massage coupon. However, we were approached a couple of times over the next few days asking why we hadn’t booked the massage (the first time we explained we had not been given a coupon). Finally, I did book it and the spa is like the rest of the resort – calming and beautiful and the massage was quite nice. They do offer a very wide range of services at the spa if you want to take advantage. We did wish they had a second coffee/tea/sandwich bar near the beach like they had in the lobby but it gave us a reason to walk up to the front each afternoon for a break from the beach. You have to remember you’re on vacation and not everything is going to be on your schedule. Be prepared to slow down and accept somethings take a little bit longer keeping in mind there are a lot of people besides yourself waiting for your drink! 10 stars from us and it is on our list of places we would definitely return to. Gracias Melia Punta Cana!
