Considering just having gone through a hurricane and dealing with COVID-19 this resort has been Great!! The food has been very good, the entertainment crew has been very entertaining! Thank you to Ruben, Richi and Kevin for teaching us how to shaky shaky while we jiggle jiggle. Rooms were very clean and updated. Would definitely recommend.

We traveled here from Pennsylvania USA as a family, 2 adults and 2 children 11 & 12 years old from October 10-17. We totally enjoyed our stay here at Sandos Caracol Resort in Playa Del Carmen. First off, Mexico takes the covid virus much more seriously than the USA, which is fantastic and a relief. They make you fill out waivers and scan your body temps thru both directions of the Cancun Airport. Upon arrival at Sandos via our private transfer, our luggage was removed from the van, sprayed with disinfectant and wiped down. Then we walked through a disinfectant for our shoes and asked to sanitize our hands and kindly greeted in the lobby. We waited at check in for about 5-10 mins and it took about 10 mins to get checked in. We got the run down of the resort from guest services who pushed their Royal club meeting which we kindly declined, but we're asked about it again each time we contacted guest services which was kind of annoying but I know it's their job. The resort was surprisingly in great shape considering hurricane Delta just went thru the week prior. The staff was constantly cleaning up everywhere and all the bathrooms were super clean. The resort is huge and you should probably already know this if you are considering the property. We finally saw the last bit of the resort on out last evening there, which was the area around the Brazilian restaurant. There were some bars either not open or had limited hours probably because of the reduced capacity from Covid. We enjoyed most of the meals. The Italian restaurant was our least favorite. The hibachi and Brazilian were our favorite. The steak at the Mediterranean restaurant was really good. It is best to make reservations for all your meals in the first day or so. The buffet had a good variety and we enjoyed their lunch the most. Service and the staff throughout the resort was fantastic, we really enjoyed it all. We snorkeled in the Cenote which was fun and the water was refreshing and there was a lot of fish and turtles to see. We did the segway tour which was really fun and the guide was super great with the kids. We paid to go snorkeling thru the outfit in the resort which was an enjoyable 2 hour trip. We did jetskis just north of the hotel which was a good time ($50 for 30 mins), had a fantastic massage with the people on the beach dressed all in white just before the jetskis and it was probably the best one I have had and it was only $20. We also did pictures on the beach with "Easy" from Millian Photography (red shirts) and he was so much fun and the pictures were amazing. There was a decent amount of peddling goods and services on the beach which did get a little annoying at times. Security would occasionally push them away and there was usually a life guard on staff. Our Eco Family Superior room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. We wished we had did the next bigger sized room though. We were in room 3512, which had the jungle in the back. We were visited 2x by some monkeys which was so entertaining and a few of those mexican badgers. The water park was a lot of fun, we all did the slides, but the kids seemed to enjoy the splash park play area more. This was one of the reasons we booked this hotel was for the water park. We were in the main pool with the bar most of the time. No real service at the swim up bar, but behind it there was service on the back side of the swim up bar and plenty of wait staff walking around taking drink orders. The beach was actually pretty good considering some of the negative reviews. Yes there are rocky areas but there is also clear areas to get in the water. We snorkeled and swam from the beach and saw fish and enjoyed snorkeling over the rocky areas. Water was warm and very clear towards the end of our stay. We really did enjoy the beach, it was beautiful. We would certainly consider returning to this resort, we had a fantastic vacation, thank you to everyone at Sandos Caracol for all the wonderful service!

This was my first trip to Mexico and I was so impressed with how organised this hotel is. We had Adrian walk us through our first evening and he was just great. Just north of Playa Del Carmen means you are very close to many fabulous excursions but the hotel itself has many fantastic things to do from a pool near the beach, to fantastic views towards Cozumel at the beach, to the cool little shops, the fantastic choice of restaurants, the water slides and water park, the cenotes you can swim in, the monkeys, the games room, the Segway and bike rentals but most importantly to the happy and friendly people who work there. I am so impressed with this resort. I highly recommend it.

All the staff here was super nice. We enjoyed the daycare ladies Cynthia, Caro, Leydi and Karen. Great water slides! For the price, an amazing resort. Nice how they had bikes to use and my favorite part was no single use plastics!
