I spent two days here to compare it to my all time favorite spot on Sand Key. Here is what I experienced. Great service, in every aspect. Housekeeping, front desk, breakfast and bellmen. Bar tender and servers. Everyone was happy and helpful. Room was very nice and I loved being able to watch the dolphins play while I was working from my in room desk. I was disappointed in the sunset or lack there of. So if your looking for the beach experience stay on the beach or walk over! I will stay again and thank the staff and crew at the Marriott for a great stay!

Went for a 4 day get away with a group of friends and this hotel is beautiful! Staff is very helpful and welcoming, especially Dan at the front desk. He went out of his way to help my friends and I. Will definitely be returning.

This is probably one of my top ten favorite hotels. Spacious, clean rooms. There is plenty to do around the area. A free trolley takes you back and fourth to the pier. Uber is super cheap here. Dinner and drinks are a little pricier in this area so do your homework. Stop at Walgreens on your way in and stock your little fridge of basics. On the staffing end.....The grounds keeping and house keeping staff are super sweet and nice. Brannon at Starbucks is a breath of fresh air and will give you advice on what to do in the area. The only down side was the front desk. Extremely rude and asking a question about something was like talking to a brick wall. However, The night auditor gentlemen was super helpful and friendly.

Average service and noisy air con

Booked a suite and effectively ended up with a family room with a kitchenette. We booked through a travel agent for a suite suitable for our 2 children and us, so that could put the kids to bed and then stay up ourselves rather than all being in the same room. After a long trip from the UK we arrived at 9pm at the hotel with tired children wanting to get to bed. The "suite" had 2 double beds. There was technically a sofa bed in the living area - this had the thinnest nastiest mattress I have encountered. I can normally sleep anywhere but you could feel every bar of the bed structure, and every remaining spring left in the "mattress". This wasn't suitable for sleeping on really, but what was worse was that there was no bedding for this other than a sheet. We asked at reception for bedding (who were indifferent to our request) and after 30 minutes of no action went down again and were told they would get on it - no bedding materialised that night and we were forced to put our 10 and 12 year old son and daughter together into one of the double beds. Not ideal from anyones perspective. After the management "reached out to us" the next day we were supplied with bedding for the torture sofa bed, but the whole situation could have been avoided by some basic attention to customer service - wanting bedding for the correct number in your party isn't an unreasonable request, and shouldn't take 12 hours to sort. Otherwise the rooms were very small (surprisingly so for North American standards) with very little in the way of storage. Maybe fine for a couple but too small for a suite and a family. The balcony is really a Juliet balcony and very narrow, but with nice views. Maid service was very good (thank you Maria) and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The stay was dominated by the noise of air-con - either from the unit in our room which wouldn't stay off even when switched to off, randomly blasting air out at all hours of the day, or if the balcony windows were open from a huge air con plant at ground level that generated enough noise to sound like a taxiing 747. We were on the 10th floor and it dominated the peace and quiet. This noise continued day and night which was a pity as the sound of the birdlife from the room in the mornings was otherwise amazing and really special. Given all the hotel rooms face the water, who (other than a deaf person) would have designed a hotel with the industrial air con unit on that side?? The public areas of the hotel were pleasant, and we found breakfast was OK (although a little pricey for what it was). Nice pool area and a decent gym. What was a bit deceptive was the distance from the beach - Clearwater beach is beautiful but it was a 10 min walk to the beach. The trolley bus service runs regularly into Clearwater - this is free for Marriot guests but rather unhelpfully no one at reception bothered to point this out (until we had spent $ going to and fro). A simple "free" label on the trolley bus sign at reception would easily solve this! All in all would not return - for reception to ignore 2 requests of bedding at 9pm so that we could put the kids to bed, was enough to lose me as a customer in future,

My husband and I just recently spent 3 nights at The Sand Key Marriott celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. This property is so welcoming the minute you pull up in the drive way. The Bellmen and Valet greet you warmly. Front desk staff was wonderful. A special shout out to Christopher Rose for making our reservation . Our room was terrific, the view was spectacular. The renovations and most importantly the new elevators made the ride from the lobby to the 9th floor very quick. The GM Michael and AGM Savannah has compiled a really terrific staff which makes all guests want to return. Thanks for the great weekend at Sand Key! We hope to see you all again in the very near future.
