Very good hotel, rooms clean and big, a bit old too. Not much to see around the hotel area (besides Malecon, but what a view, wow), but taxi's are right outside the hotel, so you can go to Havana old town in about 10 minutes drive ;) Internet only in the Lobby, thought it was possible on the rooms, but no - otherwise a fine hotel ;)

Other than the location and views there is really nothing positive that I can say about this hotel. The negative list is quite long however. This hotel is barely good enough for 1 star rating let alone any more than that. Staff certainly seem to be unhappy and embarrassed to work there. Maybe once in its heyday this was a fantastic hotel but clearly has not seen any updates or had a good clean in many, many years which is a shame as it could be great

This hotel needs to renovated but its okay if its old as long as its clean! The people needs to trained on basic customer service and all. 1. Basic thank you, welcome, have a nice day, enjoy your day etc they don’t say it. Doorman or people in front doesn’t greet and just look at you don’t greet you or offer help. With or without tip they should greet you basic god morning or offer help. 2. Rooms are very dirty. We asked 3x for our room to be cleaned. And waited for an hour that night just to be cleaned but still wasn’t cleaned ??. In the end since we are very tired and waited for an hr, we just requested for the the sheets to be changed and new towels. 3. And the Fridge inside the room, my God, please kindly check it before opening one because the cans are dirty. What if its a rat pee or God knows what!?? 5. Scariest elevator ever! Lol Wont close properly so it wont move after trying it every like 4-5 time pressing and keep open and close all the time and make loud noises. Promise every time we use it we pray and my husband sweat a lot just bec of that. They advertise as 4-5 star hotel but its not. Rooms has very nice views. Lots of potential but poor service. Especially the reception desk. I have videos but wont load.

Average dated rooms, towels and carpets were worn

We stayed from the end of November 2019 for three days. Our twin room was adequate but hot water took some time to come through and the were a series of power cuts on our last day. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful and efficient. The location of this hotel means you will need to take taxis into old Havana.

4 day trip to Cuba at the Riviera

Me and my wife were on a 4 day trip to Cuba and we decided to stay in Iberostar Riviera. The hotel looks much better on the outside than it is in the inside. The view overlooking the malecon and the seawall was nice. The door of our room was always stuck and required significant effort to open each time. Elevators feel like they are really old and there was a stench in the hallways which we had to get used to. The staff is friendly and they have a good breakfast buffet. The currency exchange feels like a ripoff though. Overall experience was meh.
