So many things to say about how disappointing our stay here was. We had previously been in a different hotel on Bermuda and needed to get one additional night because our flight had been moved. The star rating at Grotto Bay looked fine, so we figured we’d be fine here for just the one night before our morning flights. All I can say is, DON’T STAY HERE! As soon as we entered our room we noticed a nasty moldy smell and weren’t sure where it was coming from. We chocked it up to the humidity and the room being a bit older, and went to dinner at the restaurant. The menu there was pathetically small — our options were basically wings, chicken fingers, a burger, or a salad, or a wildly overpriced prix fixe. The servers were completely uncoordinated, with several of them coming over to the table separately and asking us the same questions about if we wanted bread or a drink. And then we had to flag someone down when our plates were dropped off with several items missing. Meanwhile, there were several rugby teams staying on the property who pretty much turned the dining area into their own personal beer hall — loud, poorly behaved, and obnoxious. Not once did any of the staff go over and ask them to tone it down. Was a total free-for-all, and there were several other tables in the restaurant who had to put up with the nonsense. We got back to our room to relax and go to sleep early for our flight in the morning, and took off our shoes for the first time in the room. To our horror, our socks got wet immediately with a brown, putrid-smelling liquid because the ENTIRE FLOOR WAS WET WITH SOMETHING. And our socks and feet then smelled horrid. As if someone had vomited in the room and the staff tried to clean it up, but it never got fully clean and never dried. We had to wash our feet in the (moldy) tub and put on shoes to walk back through the room. It was too late for us to try to get another room because we needed to sleep. So we just went to bed with shoes on the side of the bed so we didn’t have to step on the floor again. Needed to put all of our bags (which had been on the floor for hours) on the furniture so that they could dry out. When we told the front desk about the room this morning when checking out, the only response we received was “Ok. Here’s your bill.” Not even one apology or “I’m sorry to hear that” or feigned attempt to give a damn. Just handed over a bill for an overpriced marginally passable dinner in the restaurant. And the room was still $400+ !!! What an absurd ripoff! Didn’t even offer to comp our dinner for the fact that the room should have been condemned. Would NEVER recommend this place and NEVER stay here again. Stay at the Rosewood instead — it’s worth the extra money to actually be able to stay in a place that isn’t squalid like “Grosso” Bay

What impressed me the most about our stay, was that even though we are locals, we were treated with the same care and attention as the tourist! Everyone from the front desk agent to the waiter was very friendly and professional! Even though there was a wedding going on during our stay, we still had peaceful days resting and relaxing! I will definitely recommend this Resort to anyone looking for a weekend getaway!

Unfortunately for me this was a business trip which involved working every day, not your average trip to Bermuda.!! Luckily got to stay at this lovely hotel with stunning views over the bay. Didn't get to enjoy anything they offered in the way of holidaying but will definitely book for a holiday return at the earliest opportunity.

We were at Grotto Bay from September 28-October 3. It was just as great as our trip there last year, in spite of all the Covid restrictions... in some ways even better! The staff did a fantastic job of handling everything in a very kind way. We had trouble getting our email to work the first morning there(Problems with our iPad, the resort wifi was excellent) and the young man at the front desk was so helpful and patient with me. In fact, the whole staff couldn't have been nicer. Everyone was very efficient and pleasant. We had scheduled a trip for last April which we had to cancel due to the virus, so I need to especially thank Debra Burrows in reservations for all of her help. She really worked hard on getting us back on track to be able to go in September, always reassuring me that everything would work out and she made sure that it did. She really saved the day! The location is great. Just a quick cab ride from the airport and close to many places that we've always enjoyed in Bermuda. We love Clearwater Beach and Coopers Island Nature Reserve, as well as Tobacco Bay, and they're very close to Grotto Bay. On our last visit we got the all inclusive plan and regretted not getting it this year. The food at Grotto Bay is fantastic, and the plan is well worth the money. This is probably the best resort on the island for children. The rooms are spacious and kids would have a great time at the beach and at the beautiful pool. On our last night there, we did have a problem briefly with noise from a party going on next door. My husband spoke to the night manager who solved the problem in about 5 minutes. Small things can go wrong at any resort, and I'm quite sure that this kind of thing very seldom happens at Grotto Bay, but how these things are handled is what matters. The manager at Grotto Bay gets an A++++!! (Sorry, but I'm a teacher so I have to give grades!) I do have to mention our taxi driver, now our friend, Calvin Bridgewater, 441-504-0749. He is wonderful. He was always there on time, actually early, keeps his cab extremely clean, and is very knowledgeable about Bermuda. He can answer any question you have and provide excellent advice. In addition to cab rides, he does tours. We certainly hope to return to Grotto Bay again soon.

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at Grotto Bay. We booked it through Michael McHugh at Dream Makers Vacation Services, who was great to work with especially during COVID. Our stay was absolutely amazing. We paid for the all-inclusive package and it was 100% worth the money. The food was delicious at the resort, the beach was beautiful, and the non-motorized water sports were an added bonus! We rented a bike from Oleanders (right down the street) and we were able to explore many parts of the island in just one day. We will definitely stay here again if we come back!
