ALMA in the buffet is AMAZING!!! She works harder than anyone else there by far. Super friendly, very polite & professional. I can't wait to see her on our next visit. GLORIA kept the beach bar washrooms & stairs pristine. She had surgery 2 weeks prior & came to work everyday with a big smile. Gloria doesn't speak English. Her excellent skills kept the washrooms spotless & the stairs pristine. I felt guilty walking on them. Sexy GABRIEL gave us a great water aerobic workout everyday. Super fun & energetic. NEF is the perfect beach visual. Not sure where he finds the time to work out to maintain his body. He did our water aerobics one day & OMG I wasn't expecting a HIIT class. Love the Hawk Men with their birds. The young bird gets a little distracted, but it's fun watching the master looking for him. Can't wait to return!

Overall: I would return for the location and the beautiful beach and infinity pools but personally the food/drink likely would deter me from returning and I would be inclined to try somewhere else instead. Celiac: I messaged before hand and can say communication was the fastest, I have received and accurate. They told me they had gluten free soya sauce, pasta and sometimes pizza. They did not mention to get little Celiac cards which the concierges sent after inquiring about pasta. They did have gluten free soya sauce at the Asian which was nice. They seemed to be knowledgeable about the menu items and there was always a selection. We went twice to the Italian and the first time I had them call down and check earlier in the day and while they did have GF pasta, my husband wanted another bowl as his spaghetti was very small they said they ran out. Pretty sure it wasn’t running out but more they just didn’t want to go to the trouble of making another batch. This night we had fantastic service. I (not the celiac) thought the food was just meh. We got bread with oil and vinegar beforehand, quick to take orders and receive etc. The second night I had again talked to concierge to ensure there was pasta and was told yes there would be. When we went to order they said they had none so we persisted a bit and they finally came out and said they did in fact have some and they would make it. This night we didn’t have the same service level. A very loooong wait for everything else. My husband is asymptomatic so we never really know but they were knowledgeable which is nice. Check in: I loved the check in process, no wait, super fast and efficient, son in law left phone on transport and it was back within 15 minutes. Room: We got 2 rooms which we requested close together and we were 2 doors apart which was perfect. Both had jacuzzi tubs and they both worked however ours had to be worked on a couple of the days but it always worked in evenings so no issues for us. We used them every night and we loved this option and were surprised not many others were being used. The only downside is that it takes a long time to fill. Our room overlooked the adults only pool and I feel that perhaps that section of the buildings could also be for rooms without children as the child next door was screaming bloody murder around 12:30. Our daughter heard it and recorded it and it was so loud you could easily hear it from the recording plus guest on the other side had a HUGE fight and they had to call concierge twice to tell them to keep it down. Our room we didn’t hear it but one morning the people on the other side were on the phone before 6am and talked so loud. I never understand why people need to talk so loud….at anytime but especially in the AM. We are early risers but still no one wants to hear that. Shower pressure was top notch and I appreciated the rain shower head and the hand held nozzle but with no door I accidentally sprayed all over the mirror while washing my hair…whoops. Food: As other stated this place was just ok foodwise. We didn’t go hungry but found everything was just a little off hitting the mark. Surprised how little fish there was. The only items I would note is the fried ice cream at Asian, the taco bar at El Patio and the coconut ice cream cones at the café. The egg station in the morning was good too but standard. No fresh tortillas being made but they did have tortillas. Lunch at the grill they had calamari, mahi mahi and mussels. They used garlic butter which I cannot have but the lady working took very special care to make me some mussels without. I just didn’t want to be a bother to others so only had it once. The burgers were not terrible either. We ordered room service one night and were trying to only order fries as everything else had gluten but were told can only order chicken fingers and fries. Might have been language barrier but thought that was odd. Lobby Bar: We liked this in the evenings but like others say not enough seating. Bartenders were quick. Other bars: the one by the adult pool was always busy and its so small. I felt bad for those working there. They had to cover both the adult pools and they busted their butts. They should have a mini mobile station in the middle area that just had a beer keg or something like that to less the load of the others. The bar by grill was always quick and easy to grab a drink, same with by the towel bar. We went to the club one night, mainly just to see it, and it does smell really bad but there were a lot of people in there which we were surprised. We only stayed maybe 10 minutes as it wasn’t our thing. Pools: The infinity pools were amazing. Towel game was a joke which we did not partake in. We were adults only, thankfully, so we were happy with the pool off to the side and when we wanted the main pool we moved. We were up early one morning for a tour and ALL the chairs were taken with people sitting in them by 5:30am….people were setting alarms to get chairs…we were shocked. Been to dozens and dozens resorts and have never seen this before and would never do this. We took floaties and loved that there is a compressor by towel area. I also think there should be another towel table on the adult side but not a huge deal. Beach/Ocean: Bay was UNBELIVEABLE such a pretty little area with the rocks in the water and the Mexican flag. Ocean was warm and fun to play in. Secret beach was lovely. No sand shoes needed as the sand is course but still nice. On the left side of resort fish come right up to shore and one took more than a nibble and drew blood. We went a few times and this didn’t happen to anyone else so not a huge warning just my bad luck. Volleyball was an absolutely joke. We have never seen a game being dominated by the entertainment staff. There was a line of 7 or so guest but instead the staff were playing until people lost interest and left and those that did stay, they just added themselves and then dominated the court making it zero fun for anyone. My husband who almost always plays daily but this trip just the one time as it was no fun. Gym: The gym was sufficient. We ran a few days as it was pretty hot in the gym and then did a little beach workout to mix things up. General: The area was lovely. We went to watch the NCAA games across the street and the Canadian hockey games were on as well. Area felt safe. We got bug bites but more at the end of the week. I had brought lotion but the little buggers you can’t tell until its too late.
