So glad we upgraded for kitchenette with good sized fridge, microwave, dishes, electric skillet, sink, toaster, K cup coffee maker! After stocking up at Costco (we also booked our entire trio thru Costco & highly recommend) in Lihue, we made snacks & sandwiches for a to go lunch in the cooler that comes with the room, so handy! (Brought ice packs from home) Very clean premises, safe, easy to get in & out of. Front desk staff very friendly & helpful. The hotel grounds are very well kept. Our upgrade gave us breakfast vouchers each morning at Lava Lava restaurant on hotel grounds, such a lovely view for breakfast each morning and was good breakfast food. Really nice beach at this hotel with pine trees for shade! Oddly there are a few random things missing from the hotel rooms that you’d expect at any other hotel. No bath robe, no dirty laundry bag, no privacy curtain veil to let light into ur room (1st floor). Just a full thickness curtain so was a tad on the dark side. Also only 2 drawers for clothes? Parking is an issue across this wonderful island and this hotel shares in that. Two of our 6 nights here we had to valet (complimentary but of course you feel obligated to tip) because there were no parking spaces left after 8:30pm. Also, teeny tiny parking spaces and many other hotel guests seem to hv no concern for their fellow hotel guests and take more than their share of the spot! But overall this hotel was exactly what we needed! Plenty of nearby grocery stores, restaurants & shopping in lovely Kapaa. A great hotel for the price point!

I stayed here for 3 nights 4 days. There were a total of 3 roches in the room I did report to hotel staff but it was the day i was checking out as i have never experienced this before. The check in staff are hit or miss. Some staff shared a lot of info about the hotel but the lady who checked me in didnt share much and I didn't know much about the property. Toilet paper rack repair was done shotty. Carpet is coming up at the bathroom door way. I know others that have stayed here and had a great experience. This might have been an isolated incident but its a visit that I will never forget.

PROS: This place has a beautiful view of the ocean and I liked that it had trees lining the beach so you could sit in the shade and still have the view. The free yoga was awesome in the mornings. I liked that they've updated the building and some stuff int he rooms however not everything in the rooms was updated. The bathtub/shower was old, and there was a faint older smell to the room, but not anything I felt I needed to complain about. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows, and I liked the Hawaiian Tropic brand of shower stuff. There is a restaurant right on the property with a beautiful view of the ocean & their coconut syrup with pancakes was good. All the staff I encountered were very nice. They offer free valet! CONS: The food we had at the restaurant was just OK especially for the price. Our breakfast was $40 dollars for 2 people. Our room was directly across from the communal laundry room and ice machine. There was a door to it with a key entry, but it was left open all day/night long. This was miserable as we woke up at all hours to people getting ice or rudely talking loudly while doing laundry. It would be nice if there was a sign up that said: "Please keep the door closed at all times". Furthermore, I went to go to the concierge desk to inquire about abotu activities. There were 2 desks and the lady on the right was already helping someone else, so the lady on the left asked how she could help me. We went over some activities then she asked how old I was and mentioned she could get me a discount on the helicopter tours. She then went into a speel about coming to a property to attend a seminar about properties. I stopped her immediately and said I was not interested. It dawned on me then she was wearing a different shirt then everyone else at the hotel. It really upset me that they allowed them there and I had been roped into this. She was insistent and wouldn't take no for an answer. As mentioned everyone that actually worked for the hotel was nice and great, but stay away from the second desk next to the concierge.

Arrived here yesterday in Kaua’i for a few days and at first glance you get the impression of a Motel. That’s not altogether that fair. Reception is bright and Angela and the ladies at the desk are very welcoming and helpful. I chose this place on price and it is cheap. Well, in so far as anything in Hawai’i is cheap and it certainly is less expensive than other hostelries around. The rooms are decorated in pastel tones and are functional and of a decent size. The bathrooms are small, but adequate and the amenities are very good - from ‘Hawaiian Sun’. The air conditioning is good and can be controlled on a hand held remote. Outside there is a small-ish pool, but when I was swimming, some children were having a great time...and there are loungers surrounding the pool. The hotel itself is right on the ocean with a ‘killer’ view and the restaurant on site is a picture at sunset. All in all, very good value and with a car, you’ll be close to everything. I hope you enjoy.

    Pros/Cons to this location.

The location of the hotel was right in the middle between Poipu and Princeville, so that was a Pro. The free yoga every morning and bikes to explore were also a plus. The free valet parking was also a definite perk. The resort itself is pretty dated, but the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. We had to call maintenance three times to get our TV to work, but he was always right there when called and willing to do whatever was needed. The sand at this location is different--golden sand--very coarse and not the typical sand beach. There are only about a dozen beach chairs, but two pools, so there are options. The adjacent shopping center was also a plus!
