?????Stayed Nov. 8-13, 2019. Keep in mind that weather may be unpredictable this time of year. Below is my list of pros and cons (based on my personal preferences and requirements). PROS + When inadequate room was provided for the first night (details below), management reacted quickly to our complaint and provided a much better room (way beyond our expectations) the following day; I hate complaining and even more so I hate it when people complain for minor reasons, just to pressure management into giving them a better room than what they paid for; in our case I would have been OK with a room just a couple of floors above the terrible L1 room and with good air conditioning; but we got much more than we asked for -- THANK YOU! (special thanks to Fernando who took care of our request) + Generally friendly, attentive, smiling front desk staff; adequate command of English + Very organized dispatch lady at the entrance to the breakfast buffet -- very helpful when there is a crowd + Generally hard working staff + Very attentive evening bartender at the main bar (after a nominal tip) + Property kept clean overall; quick and thorough cleanup after sandstorm when all outside areas (pool, restaurant, etc) were covered in sand + Reasonable late checkout fee; we paid $100 MXN x 5 = $500 MXN to check out at 5 pm + All-inclusive includes a la carte restaurants without limit -- you may have an a la carte dinner every night (reservation may be required) + Roxi restaurant is outstanding even by Canadian standards: impeccable service, timely serving of each dish, perfectly cooked and presented dishes CONS and suggestions - Staff should read comments in the "special requests" area of bookings (e.g. made through Expedia) and try their best to address them upon check-in; even though I understand that those requests are not guaranteed; I asked for a higher floor room 2.5 months in advance (when booking), but I don't think that anyone has ever read that request - Check-in process somewhat disorganized (no visible queue, people just seemed to come from any direction with various requests); I understand that such high check-in volume was not typical; in such high-volume times, it would help to have a person greeting and directing confused/tired newly arrived guests (similar to the dispatch lady they have at the buffet entrance at breakfast) - Room L1 (where we spent our first night) is absolutely terrible due to DJ proximity (literally within 1 metre of the balcony), loud and weak AC, almost no ocean view; it should not be called a guest room at all; I would prefer to stay in a street view room instead of this "ocean view" room on the ground floor - Noise level and temperature are very important for me personally, as I am a light sleeper and can barely sleep when it's hot; the AC in room L1 was always on the "high" setting with loud fan noise and set to 20 degrees but never cooling the room below 26 degrees; so I barely slept 3 hours that night - I understand that the hotel was near capacity that night (it indeed looked quite busy), but in a situation where a guest has to be put in such a bad room, it would be nice for management to reassure that this is DEFINITELY for ONE night only, and that the guest WILL get another room the next day (not "maybe") - No air conditioning in any of the common areas near the lobby -- it often gets very hot and humid and becomes a problem if you have to wait - Getting bottled water might be a bit of a challenge; it would be nice if room cleaners re-stocked each room with bottled water daily - Beach is clean, but beach chairs might be sandy from the previous day; this is a small thing, but easily fixable: whoever cleans the beach can also turn each chair 90 degrees, give it a couple of slaps and put back in place -- quick and easy, but makes things look cleaner very quickly - Sushimarket (a la carte restaurant at Star Palace) is subpar: limited menu, and even then a few items on that menu are not available; all sushi is vegetarian (no fish) except one roll with bacon; we waited 10-12 minutes for our desserts after finishing our main dish; overall -- much worse than Roxi, so I didn't leave any tip - Non-flushing urinal in the men's bathroom next to main bar; putting in an automatic water flush would help a lot - No ventilation in men's bathrooms in common areas; would be nice to have an exhaust fan, especially in those bathrooms where there's no breeze from windows NEUTRAL (items that are not important to me personally) +/- Mainly locals in the hotel, only a few gringos, but this makes no difference to me +/- Limited food variety in buffet, but I don't expect a lot of variety when I'm there for 7 days max +/- Daily & nightly entertainment not important to me, but their Saturday show at the theatre was nice +/- Don't expect all staff to speak good English; learn some Spanish instead Non-hotel-specific CONS - Beach towel system is bad; someone always takes a towel from us when we are not looking, and then we have to either find one or pay; not sure how to fix this though -- it happened to us at a few Mexican hotels, so we decided to use our own beach towels - Taxi to the airport is cash only; but you may get an Uber, which for us was much cheaper and better than taxi; tip well though to recognize their good service

I joined the gym for my first month and immediately met Danial .He is a very nice gentleman keeps it very clean and always willing to help you out. The equipment is in very good order lots of fans and air conditioning and nice exercise music. I live approximately 3 miles away and the drive is very much worth it. Like I said Daniel is a great guy always upbeat and happy. Thanks for the opportunity to let me train in your gym.

My overall experience at the Pacific palace was very good. Minor issues here and there but everyone was very attentive. The gym also had a personal trainer! To help out with using any machines and simply help out with correcting any exercises. Best service I’ve ever experienced at a gym, ever!

My family and I went to the Oceano Palace Hotel on December and stay there for a week. The hotel is well located, the beach is right in front of it! it´s on a main street were you can find all types of restaurants and it´s easy to find transportation to move around Mazatlán. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. What I loved about the hotel was been able to eat breakfast while enjoying the beautiful ocean view. The hotel also offer some activities for guests such as shows, dance classes , live music, massages, etc. One aspect you need to consider if you are going to stay in one of their rooms with view to the city is the fact that the restaurants and cars makes a lot of noise and they won´t shut up until very late so it´s not going to be easy for you to sleep early, that is something they need to improve maybe putting some sound insulators in the rooms or giving the guests some earplugs.
