Really Enjoyable Stay

KRJ07 (New York City, New York) on Apr 08, 2024

We had a really nice time and enjoyed our stay at Cabana Bay. We had a family suite and the room was very comfortable. The resort overall was terrific, and every person we encountered was friendly and helpful. We arrived early (about noon) and our check in was smooth and the person who checked us in Kayla could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. Before our trip we saw some confusion in other messages about checking in on line. We booked our trip directly through universal and we never received an email (even checked the spam folder for it) giving us the option to check in online so for those wondering; I don’t know if online checkin is still an option. Regardless in our experience we checked in with Kayla in person and she got us situated , answered our questions and started us off on a really enjoyable stay. The vacation desk folks from where we picked up our pre purchased park tickets were also very professional helpful and friendly. There really was something for everyone at this resort and no matter what time we wanted to go over to the parks or return there was always a shuttle there for us. It was continuous one leaves another is there behind it and it’s just a 5 minute ride but all the drivers were also very friendly and welcoming. Although this resort has a lot of rooms it’s big enough so that we never felt crowded at any time. Overall we really enjoyed staying at Cabana Bay.

Family suite - November 2023

Aesharpe86 (Plymouth, United Kingdom) on Apr 08, 2024

We visited from 31st October to 5th November 2023 as a family of 5 (3 adults and 2 children). We had an exterior entry family suite - in the Castaway block - which suited us well for our short stay. There were two decent sized beds in the bedroom (along with clothes/luggage storage and the toilet & Bathroom). The living area had a small kitchenette and a sofa bed. The room was plenty big enough for the 5 of us and it was nice to turn the sofa bed back into sofa during the day to use as seating. The kitchenette was simple but the fridge was big enough for our needs. Our only grip was that the sofa bed was a little uncomfortable (your ankles were higher than your head when you laid on it). However, we do appreciate that a sofa bed is never going to be a comfortable as a regular bed. The staff were amazing. The check in was smooth and the lady who served us was very informative. We collected our Universal tickets from the Ticket desk in a matter of minutes. The reception is very large with generous seating, along with the bar. Left off of reception is where you get to the Universal Store, Starbucks and food hall. There were various food options, meeting the needs of many a fussy eater. The prices were higher than I’d like but to be expected for a theme park resort. We got a resort mug, which did us well, especially when the kids realised you could put Icees in them. There’s plenty of seating available in the food hall. The two pool areas were fab, especially for little ones. Having a lazy river at the resort was mind blowing for our kids. However, we preferred the other pool just because the water slide and splash area was more entertaining for our little ones. A big highlight was the early access to the theme parks along with the dedicated entrance to Volcano Bay (which you could walk to easily from the resort). The buses to the parks were very regular and I don’t recall ever really having to wait long at either end for a bus. We did walk one day to Lowes Royal Pacific and take the water taxi to City walk. The walk between Cabana Bay and Royal Pacific was very pleasant and didn’t take more than 15 minutes (and that was with two people with very little legs). We loved our stay at Cabana Bay and will definitely be back.
