A quiet, secluded resort on Disney property. Several pools which allow for quiet reading, napping or lap swimming or a music filled pool with a walk up food and drink bar, with slides and fountains for kids. Lush vegetation makes the whole area feel cool and tropical. Downside, dated, small rooms which supposedly sleep 5, it was very crowded with little space to handle the things 5 ppl would bring to a vacation of more than 1 day. Can be quite a long hike to room if you are there without a car. With your own car, there is plenty of parking close to the rooms. I would stay again but book only 2 ppl per room.

I have never been to the Louisiana Bayou but I assume this is exactly what it looks like. Beautiful grounds to take a stroll on. The restaurant on the grounds is amazing. We loved everything about this resort and have plans to stay again in the future.

We did have a few challenges on this trip where we were celebrating some big birthdays. The reception were not responsive to these issues as they usually are, until we went to the management team via online media outlining how we were not having a magical day on some occasions. The management team reacted really well and put out gifts on our beds and balloons for our Birthday girl and offered us a free room for a week to return with park tickets. They were determinded that they would make it magical and we really appreciated it. We like it here, as the resort is relatively relaxing and spaced out, which is great when you come back from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. You can also get a quaint river boat to Disney Springs from the Riverside and French Quarter resort, which makes a nice change to getting the buses, The renovated rooms are clean and set in Southern colonial style - however like most Orlando trips - you don't spend much time in it! The staff were friendly around the resort and allowed for baggage storage before our flight.

Let me just say Disney really knows how to make a person feel like they've stepped out of reality into a world with no worries and relaxation. This is our families 9th or 10th time at Disney. 1st time staying at Port Orleans- Riverside. Completely worth the extra with the pull down 5th sleeper option. We have 3 kiddos that don't do well with lack of sleep. Check in was a breeze, opened the door with my Disney app. So cool! We spent the first day walking around and enjoying the resort, completely worth it since we knew the next couple of days meant early mornings, late evenings. We took a boat ride to Disney Springs. Mike made the boat ride absolutely one of the highlights of the day. Everytime we walked by the dock my kiddos would look for Mike. He made them feel so special, hes a keeper!! We were planning our next trip as soon as well were headed to the airport. Thank you Disney!

    Not what we expected!

I never write reviews, but felt I should on our entire non-magical experience. To start it off, the property is very pretty and that's about it! We've planned our trip for years to celebrate our daughter's 5th birthday. We booked the themed room and paid extra for the river view. After unloading ALL of our luggage with 2 extremely tired toddlers from 15 hours of driving and get to our room, it was NOT what we paid for. We had to call and was promised a call back as we sat, waiting in the wrong room. They were not sorry, not apologetic, acted like it was our fault, and finally put us in the correct room. No one told us ANYTHING about the room, how to utilize the bus system to the parks, etc... We didn't even know that our headboard lit up in our themed room until the last two days of the trip! The rooms remind me of a fancy Best Western. They put a few princess pictures on the wall and call it a themed room. I forgot to also state that after we went to the front desk over the room issue, we were PROMISED yet again to have ANOTHER manager call us back....nope! WE never received a phone call from anyone at all! I hate to be so negative, but I was just NOT impressed, especially with the amount of $ spent! My husband and I have traveled all over the world and I can honestly say that I just expected a lot more from a Disney resort. We still made the best of it and my daughter had a wonderful time, which was the most important thing to us.
