    But for toilets, pretty nice

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath DVC room. The rooms were large, beds comfy. Kitchen had what we needed. Baths were large (though vanities were pretty cheap), grounds woodsy. I especially liked the DVC pool and fitness center (which is in the DVC building, so you don’t have to go out in the elements). Boat is convenient to the Magic Kingdom. Restaurant was very good, and all cast members excellent. So what’s the problem? Somewhat delicate, and an experience unique to these rooms. Either the toilet seat is wrong, or the toilet is wrong, or the water level is wrong. For a guy to sit down your intimate bits go for a swim in the toilet water. And yes, I tried both toilets. Finally had to prop up the seat with hand towels. Public restrooms didn’t have this problem. The 4 other DVC hotels this trip (Saratoga Springs, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom, and Boardwalk), didn’t have this problem. But for this, I would give 4 stars. But for the pluses above, I’d rate it 1 star for this problem. Maybe, given the intimate nature of the problem, no one complains. Maybe cast members never use the toilets. And, frankly, I didn’t call the front desk about it, I just improvised with towels. But, I will never stay there again. Guys, be forewarned.

    Wonderful hotel at Christmastime!

Such a classic festive feel to this hotel at Christmastime! Definitely recommend staying here over the holidays. It has that Christmas feel all over it. We did not love the general feel of the room, because it was a little old feeling. However, Disney rooms are always clean and well kept, let alone we rarely spend time in our room. We love roaming around the hotel grounds and if you feel the same way then you will love this resort. It was beautiful, and had great food options! Every restaurant in this hotel is a hit in our opinion. From quick serve to sit-down! Would just recommend a few healthier options on the Roaring Fork menu, otherwise it was wonderful! We did feel that the bus service was a little on the slow side, and would not love being stuck taking the bus everywhere (with exception of Magic Kingdom, taking the boat) but there are several locations you can visit easily from here which make it a good location anyways. Make sure you enquire about transportation options to get a good feel of the resort.

We’ve just stayed at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and it was absolutely perfect. The brand new accommodations are cozy and very comfortable and the resort transports you to a calm and secluded location event though you’re just a quick boat trip away from the Magic Kingdom. I love the convenient boat connection to the Contemporary Resort (and the monorail) and to Fort Wilderness Campground. You can enjoy all the convenience of the Magic Kingdom resorts and the rustic fun of the campground without even noticing you’re leaving your resort. These areas are a destination on themselves and it’s really worth spending sometime to enjoy the activities on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon resort areas. Service at Boulder Ridge is as impeccable as in the main lodge as the resorts share pretty much the same facilities. I only shortcoming of the resort is the rather less efficient bus transportation to other areas of Walt Disney World outside of the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. If you plan to do a lot of traveling between your resort and places other then the Magic Kingdom, then maybe you should choose a resort more the the southern part of the property.

My husband and I booked this resort suite for our anniversary and we were very disappointed. First off we checked in and got our room 3 hours later, even though it was ready and we were not notified as they said they would. The room was clean and nice but the bed is not comfortable in our opinion. We had to pay for regular guest parking each night which honestly should be free like other hotels. Just a money grab in our opinion. Might as well ask for valet parking. Housekeeping does a mandatory inspection of your room each day, I don't know why though. They knock on your door persistently. This feels as if they don't trust us. They woke us up from our nap by calling us on our room phone to do this check after they knocked on our door several times already. Very disturbing. No free complimentary breakfast, cheaper hotels do this. Honestly, our Holiday Inn Express suite for our wedding and honeymoon was nicer than this, cheaper, and the room was bigger. Disney is really becoming a money hungry leech. Would give this hotel 0 stars if I could.

My friends and I came down from NJ to celebrate another friend’s bday at Magic Kingdom and we stayed at Boulder Ridge. Everything was wonderful!! The main lobby was beautiful and we loved Roaring Fork and all the places you can sit and eat, enjoy coffee or just people watch. The tracker is a nice touch so you can have a seat and wait for your meal. I enjoyed getting up early and exploring the property and appreciated all the nice touches like the railroad room in Boulder Ridge and the cool bison topiary. Suggestions for travelers: They will not bring your luggage to your room unless it has already been assigned. We thought they would bring it once the room number was chosen but we got to the room at 11:30 and it was not there. Also, you don’t need to bring anything. We bought shampoo, body wash, etc and it was supplied already. Lastly, when you go to the Roaring Fork, you have to order EVERYTHING at the counter and this includes coffee. We had such a wonderful time and I will definitely be back.
