It's my 20th wedding anniversary. I should be getting ready for a wonderful dinner with my wife and instead I'm taking time to write this review/comment. Number 1, I don't write reviews. And B, I'm taking time to do this because I absolutely have to share how incredible the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and staff are! Upon arrival Jake (Fairmont Jake, not me) welcomed us at the door and congratulated us on 20 yrs. From there the Gold Team of Tom, Taylor and Blatchley set us up in one of the most incredible rooms, brought us champagne and have gone above and beyond at every step of the way. Pile on Tristan at the pool who was probably one of the coolest servers we've ever had. This is truly an incredible place and an incredible staff. Thanks for making our 20th such a special event Fairmont!!!

    Less than perfect

Avoid the F building especially on the lower numbered rooms - noisy at night and noisy first thing in the morning. Shocked that both days our guest room had not been serviced by 4pm when we were back in the room showering for a business dinner - therefore the room wasn’t serviced because we were in it. Huge property, almost too huge. Highlight for me was the raptors who were on property to keep the nuisance birds away. I would not choose this property again.

Many thanks to everyone at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess for making our family staycation so memorable. A few extra shout outs to Jose Alberdi who made sure we had a beautiful room by the Sunset Beach pool, Karma Tsepal, the manager of Ironwood American Kitchen, who managed to wow all of us as well as the 11 yr old in our group with creative iced tea potions and exotic fruit trays served with a huge side of kindness, Alex and Jamie, the spa pool bartenders and dispensers of all things relaxing, and lastly to Stacy Mattingly our FloatFit instructor who made us forget how hot it was and gave us a terrific yoga session. We will be returning!!

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a great place for business and family. I recently spent eight days there and my stay was quite enjoyable. The rooms are well above average in size, quiet, and exceptional in quality. The televisions are "smart" and the media thereon is exceptional. Management was attentive to my calls when I requested assistance and I liked the fact that the swimming pools are open late. The only challenge that I had my entire stay was elevated noise in the Spa. I repeatedly asked the attendant to ask other patrons to hold down their voices in the spa and I was told it was against their policy to do so. What? I have travelled the world and every five star spa that I ever visited demanded tranquility in the spa. If you are visiting the Fairmont for the rooms, food, pool, and other activites, i would say, visit. But, if you are going to experience the spa, I would ask you to think again and again.

Stayed on a business trip where i took a couple of extra days to golf. Loved the golf courses and the restaurants were decent (La Hacienda was great; and the breakfast at ironwood was really good; service at both places was excellent). My room was a handicap room; they did not inform me of this or ask me if that was ok (it wasnt). In the morning, when i left to play golf, the hallway was littered with food trays from the night before. And the towels in my room were frayed, including one with a hole in it. I I mentioned it to the front desk and the assistant director of hospitality checked it out, didnt see the towel, and left. I guess he didnt consider that the room had been turned by then. In any event, it took a long time to get someone to talk to me about the issues (I had checked out by then). And the discussion was disappointing to say the least. There were a few other service-related issues. They offered me a free night next time, but there wont be one. it generally seems like an ok hotel (though its very spread out). Just not up to the standards i was led to believe it would have. i'll spend a little more and go back to the Four Seasons next time.
