Another great time at RDC

We come twice a year and always have a great time. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Angel the bartender is amazing and always remembers us. Rooms are outdated but we don’t spend a lot of time in it anyway. Best shower I have ever had, lots of hot water. Our room was always cleaned in a timely matter. We love the beach and the close proximity to downtown Bucerias. Would love to see them get rid of the outdated key system as it is not very secure. The new safety deposit box is a huge improvement and very easy to use. We don’t use the reservation system for the restaurants as we prefer to go into town and check out restaurants a couple of times while we are there. All in all we don’t really have any significant complaints. You are on holiday just enjoy yourself. Fridge and coffee maker in my room? No thank you, I have to deal with that when I am at home. Wonderful vacation. I will be back!
Excellent all inclusive hotel

Guest service at Frontdesk is amazing!! Especially Dainella and Abigail. These 2 ladies answered all our questions and was very polite and respectful. This would be the reason why I would consider coming back to this hotel. But overall, the staff was fantastic is all aspects. Daniella even got us a private taxi to take us to the airport on our way home and saved us so much money. Only cost 200 peso where as when we arrive, taxi drivers ripped us off and charged us 500 peso to go to the hotel. The rooms were very clean and the activities were non stop. The food could use some help but overall good. The staff was tentative when needed and they seem to go out of their way to help you. Lots of restaurants, all buffet style and a mix of Italian to Mexican to North American cuisine. Very family oriented with adults pool only in a certain area of the hotel. Spa was fantastic. We had a professional massage on the beach pool area and that was amazing. Overall. I would say 4 stars. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. A little far from Puerto Vallarta but take the Uber, it’s much cheaper than taxi. And the taxis tried to rip us off.
Don’t expect much

You get what you pay for minus some, rooms are extremely outdated, key locks, have to wear uncomfortable wrist band entire stay, hardly any wifi available, rooms are falling apart, extremely uncomfortable pillows and beds. Not all areas of resort have an elevator. Pool and beach lounge chairs are VERY uncomfortable, no cushions, more comfortable to sit in sand. On a positive, the grounds are beautiful, beach is very steep/slanted but gorgeous and entertainment supplied was enjoyable, staff reasonably nice aside from the man running the paddleboard/kayak service. He was a power tripping maniac and very displeasing to be around, attitude wasn’t even directed at me but witnessing him treat others so poorly was very unpleasant/unprofessional. Food was edible but not much more than that. Overall it had a demographic of people 60+ from Canada/US and families. Almost laughable how old the population was.
Only good for budget minded travellers

The hotel is quite old and could use some work. The room was small and outdated. It was clean, however. Like most Mexican resorts we've been to, the bed was very hard. There are no in room amenities such as a coffee pot or an iron. The food at the buffets was mediocre, and getting a reservation at the a'lacarte restaurants nearly impossible. The staff is friendly, and the bartenders quick and efficient. Al in all, it was not the best resort we've been to, but the price was reasonable for a quick one week getaway from a Canadian winter.
Beautiful location but lacks finesse

I don’t like to be negative but I thinks it’s important to be honest so others can make informed choices. This was my first time at this resort. Upon arrival I found the front desk staff unfriendly and bland. No welcoming excitement for the guests. We were kinda left to figure things out on our own. We stayed in Block 5. No elevators. So people with mobility issues take note. Our room was very old and dated. Our dresser was broken and the floor lamp fell apart when I went to use it. The room safe was broken. The bathroom was like a public restroom. Room had no fridge. The wifi unavailable. The bed was fine and very clean. The food was mediocre at best. No traditional Mexican cuisine, and the quality of the food varied from day to day. To book times at the a la carte restaurants, you had to be down in lobby at 8 am where there was wifi in order to try to make an online reservation. All the times booked up quickly. We missed out. The beach chairs were impossible to get unless you were there at 6 am. But I suspect this happens at all resorts. Chairs around pools were more readily available but hard plastic, so like most people we had to go buy an air mattress in order to pad the chairs. I did love the number of pool areas there were and corresponding bars. Extensive choice of drink choices. Great lounges. The bar staff were amazing! Also the servers and buffet staff were wonderful. The grounds were beautiful and well groomed. Beautiful pool areas. The beach is spectacular!! Lots of beautiful sand and you could walk for miles. Amazing sun sets. Not a party resort. Older clientele . To sum up …this resort is in a beautiful location. It’s too bad the accommodations need serious upgrading. It’s old and dated. A very budget resort with no perks or pampering.
