Great time!

Carrie C on Apr 19, 2024

My friend and I booked Caribe Deluxe Princess last minute unsure what we would discover during our 7 day stay. All I can say is if you’re considering booking, wait no longer! When we arrived we were greeting by Gregory from the trolly service and his warm smile made us feel right at home with his high energy and positivity. We opted for the platinum package, which we both agreed was the right choice for us. The next morning at breakfast we were greeted by Garbel and Ivelisse who every day after that started our day off with smiles and Spanish lessons (which I asked for), they catered to our every need and by the end of the week I felt like I had two very dear friends. We eventually made it to the Platinum Club where not only did we have the best views of the sea but also had mouth watering a la carte lunches every single day. A very special shot out to Luis Cepin who served us with the most kindness and detail, and any odd request we made Cepin made sure we were well taken care of. Everyone from Jose the manager at the beach bar, to Onesimo in security and Hector the bell hop- AMAZING! I have never been to a resort where when you leave you actually feel like you’re saying goodbye to friends. Here are some of our top reasons why we loved Caribe Deluxe Princess: The food!! The a la cart restaurants were delicious and portions were huge- seafood was out of this world. The lunches at platinum club made extra special by having Cepin serve us with such care. The lounge chairs on the beach, the view and privacy of the platinum club- if you are looking for a quieter experience, platinum is something you should consider. Our room was clean and the decor was lovely throughout the resort. The lush tropical landscape is stunning and the animals, especially the iguanas- they are something! Grounds are so well kept! One last thing, I am a bed snob and the beds are decent, better than I’ve had in the past at other resorts. Overall an amazing experience. Special thanks to those resort staff who always went over and above and truly made our stay memorable! Until next time…..

Fabulous family holiday ??

Lindsey W (United Kingdom) on Apr 17, 2024

Wonderful 11 nt family holiday. Beautiful resort, the vast tropical grounds are kept immaculate. Wow, stunning beach! We enjoyed switching up pools to lounge by. Towels go down early but it didn’t matter as we are used to this in Europe. We had a modern, spacious & clean room with nice views. We enjoyed the daily nature walk saying hi to iguanas, turtles, peacocks, flamingos and more. Each day we would enjoy treats in the coffee and ice cream shop, a nice way to cool down! We managed to book via the app into the Italian, Mexican, Brazilian and Japanese restaurants, the teppanyaki was fun. The main buffet does offer a variety too. Whilst we watched some ev entertainment, we also enjoyed just relaxing with cocktails in the many bars. The staff are friendly and work hard. You can do as much or as little as you want! Lovely time, I’m sure we’ll be back one day soon.

Beautiful beach, great time, a few minor items we wanted to mention (in our opinion)

Nicole W on Apr 17, 2024

Couple in our 40’s went for a family wedding. Room 1377 was great. Wonderful view. Quiet. Clean. Only complaint is the bedding. Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows but bedding is one flat sheet and a hard thin cover. Had to request extra blankets. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful. Pools were amazing. Only complaint is that there are no servers to bring food/drink. You have to get your own. Staff at the swim up bar were not friendly at all. We thought if we tipped more they would be, but they were not. Sports bar is great and Joel is the best server! The lobby bar in the evenings is a lot of fun and great entertainment. The service is also very good, especially Candida. It was impossible for us to book the al la Cartes, they were always fully booked. But when we actually went to the restaurants they were half empty. The front desk staff was very put off when we asked them to help with al la carte reservations. We did get into the Italian and Japanese restaurants and they were very good! The buffet is so so in our opinion. Good for breakfast and lunch. We did not have dinner there. The Beach House is so so. Extremely limited buffet and the same every day. The beach and water are stunning! People save the chairs around the pool every morning, so that is really annoying when they aren’t actually using them and just put a towel on them. The staff was really good about helping us get chairs when we couldn’t find any available. The wifi is not good. We paid for the $18 US per week upgrade and it still wasn’t good unless you were in certain areas, like the lobby. I would recommend this resort but just wanted to point out a few minor issues we encountered.

Thanks!!

My wife and I chose this spot for our long overdue Honeymoon trip and were so pleased we did. The resort and its grounds were beautiful. The pools were clean, the room was clean, the beach was cleaned of seaweed every morning. The ocean colors along with the warm temperatures was something I've never experienced in Canada, just awesome!! The wildlife was entertaining. The staff was friendly and hard working. We enjoyed the buffet, especially the fresh eggs any style for breakfast. We tried every restaurant and was pleased. The Mexican was our favorite. The Animation Team was great and would always encourage visitors to get involved. Every resort team member we met was great with special mention to Ramon from check in. We would revisit without hesitation and hope to do so in the future. Thanks Caribe Deluxe Princess!!

Good hotel but poor buffet

Amber P on Apr 15, 2024

Spent a fantastic week here with my 7 year old. Before booking I spent time trying to work out whether to book the Caribe or the Tropical - it makes no difference whatsoever other than one has blocks of rooms on the left and one on the right! There are 3 pool areas - the 'party" one with the swim up bar that hosts a foam party on a Thursday and has the loudest music, one that is geared to kids and has a section with mini waterslides, and a quieter pool with a beach bar. All were lovely. There was a lot of sun lounger reserving, meaning any beds with shade by the party pool were taken before 9am. The beach is fantastic and a lot of effort is clearly made to get rid of the seaweed. We loved the sports bar up by reception. It was never too busy, and the American style food was great. This is where the bowling alley is - but be warned it's $10 per person and it's not proper bowling (the balls are smaller and have no finger holes). There are also a few arcade machines that cost $1-1.50 a go. Our room was spacious, and we were given one with a sea view which was breathtaking. There was a fair bit to do for kids - mini golf, baccia, table tennis, and then shows in the evening. The app let you book a la carte 3 days in advance, which meant we couldn't get a reservation until our third day as the first two were full. I never quite worked out what time they became available, but was usually ok first thing in the morning. We ate at the Mexican twice, the Brazilian and the Italian. The food was pretty decent, although one night at the Mexican it took half an hour for our order to be taken, and then another half an hour for the food to arrive, and when it did arrive they brought my main before my starter. The kids menu is the same in every restaurant and was poor quality (eg the Mac and cheese was just some penne with queso poured on it) so we stopped ordering from it. The buffet was the big let down for me. There is only one, and so at breakfast in particular it is rammed and the food area is actually really small considering the size of the hotel. There wasn't much choice, and often things weren't labelled properly. The live cooked food was better but be prepared to queue. Staff were all really friendly. Most speak some English but attempting to speak Spanish is always welcomed! Overall, it's a good hotel for families with kids, but it could do with a second buffet or expanding the current one to offer more variety
