I was skeptical about going to the DR during COVID, but we had already committed to going for the wedding & as the day approached, I was actually happy to get away. The resort property is beautiful & very clean. I had been on a FB page for this resort so I had heard the best building to be in for the view was building 6 so when we checked in & we received building 2, I was disappointed. However, when we arrived at the room, I loved our view. There was a great view of the property & the ocean. The concierge Leonardo was super helpful all during our stay & even offered to move us to building 6 if we wanted to, but we decided to stay put. Only complaint about building 2 was the elevator would sometimes not work. Our maid service did a great job every day & night. Our room was immaculate & well stocked with water, beer & soda. Leonardo helped us book cabana’s on the beach which I would highly recommend! The service was fantastic all week long. When we were at the beach Roseangela took care of us & she did a fantastic job. I actually felt a little bad because we seriously ran her ragged all day fetching drinks & food but she was always smiling & would say - my pleasure! She actually seemed pleased to see us when we booked the cabana again. During our days at the pool, we had Elizabeth who was also great. Elizabeth suggested some very cool drinks for us to try. Now on to the food. We had great meals at Portofino, Bordeaux & Seaside Grill. We never made it to El Patio as it was closed the day we wanted to go which was a Tuesday & we thought - how is a Mexican restaurant closed on Taco Tuesday? The Hibachi restaurant was fun, but the food & drinks were just so so. The service & food for our wedding was really good & the servers were great. We had dinner on the beach with a movie that was a lot of fun. They had a couple of lunches on the beach that was very good as well. Everything about this resort was fantastic, beach, amenities, pool, service, etc... I would highly recommend this property & plan to return to the DR.

We just returned from Secrets Cap Cana. We wish we were still there! We had the most relaxing week at an amazingly beautiful resort. Our concierge, Eduar, was awesome! He took great care of us! The entertainment team was awesome as well. Such great personalities!! We enjoyed our chats with LaDiva and Big Boy every day! We spent one day on the beach and Angelina kept our drinks full! The other days were spent by the pool where Fidelina made sure we never went hungry or thirsty!!! Our room was beautiful! We were in a non-preferred swim-out. I don't know that I'll ever be able to stay in a place without swimouts again! So awesome to order room service, throw your suit on, and hang out right at the room til it's time to go to the beach or pool!! The musical entertainment at the pool was great! The Bossa Duo was our favorite! Highly recommend!!!

This is a beautiful property. And mostly everyone is very nice. Let me start off with the bad. Do not buy the Mamajuana from the small shop next to the gift shop. They are very aggressive when it comes to sells. They will keep pushing you for a sale and it’s very uncomfortable. You can get some of the same things at the hotel gift shop. The only other bad thing is the drinks are not strong, but they are delicious. Ok, now for the good. Every inch of this property is beautiful and tropical! The pools, the beach, the room, everything. And the staff is so friendly. My favorite people whom I will never forget their awesome hospitality are: Dania, who works at the Coco cafe. She is just lovely and pleasant. Always had a smile on her face each time I went in. Abraham, who works at the BarRacuda bar on the beach. He introduced us to Mimibeers. And no, they are not beers, they are shots and they are delicious! He always went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. Maria, who we affectionately called, “Maria, Maria.” She was so funny and on point with those drinks. Look for her at the pool. The other staff who were great were Henry from the Italian restaurant, Alejandro from the Mexican restaurant, La Diva, who is a social coordinator, Big boy, who will get you 40% off the spa, and Karla at the front desk. You will fall in love with this bite and never want to leave. A definite must stay. If I come back to the DR, I will definitely be staying here.

    Exceeded our expectations

With COVID, our expectations for this trip were not high. We were looking for a nice couple's get-away but figured the luxury and service we were accustom to would be diminished. Secrets Cap Cana exceeded our over-all expectations. The facility is fantastic. Clean, perfect location, well maintained, great pools, bars and restaurants. The swim-up bar was closed (COVID) but service at the main pool was attentive. Food and drinks were easy to get. Of course, tipping helps. Buffet was only open for breakfast. Food was good there. Usual items. Ala Carte breakfast also available at preferred and another restaurant. our room was 9402 (Ocean view Preferred). View was excellent. Quiet and pretty centrally located. Room cleaning and room service was prompt when needed. 6 night stay, mini bar restocked once. We enjoyed both pools but The preferred pool was our favorite. Quiet faster service, easy to find chairs all hours of the day. also, Our favorite bartended, named Wander worked there. Wander was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Everyday he welcomed us to the pool. He always made my wife a special drink (see pictures) and was just as pleasure to hang around. Wander at the rosewater bar will be our first stop the next time we visit. Downside, I'm sure COVID related, No floats...can buy your own or sometimes, if we were early, we'd snag one of the 2 hotel floats hanging around. Not a deal breaker but pack your own if that is important to you. The beach is fantastic. Walkable, very little seaweed, and the water is clear and calm. We walked out 100 yards into the water and could still touch the bottom. Chairs and lounges on the beach and service there was also good. Everyday they cooked on the beach for a lunch option. Always an activity of some sort there, too. Paddle boards, kayaks and small sailboats available. Most (but not all) sit-down restaurants were open each night. They posted which will be available. Again, No buffet dinner. Portafino (Italian) was our favorite, French was also very good. One of our few complains was with the Japanese Restaurant. Were told they did not take reservations. You have to show up early to get a seat at the teppanyaki table. I was first in line and waited an hour to get table...but when they opened I was told all the seats were already full for the time I wanted. It appeared the "butlers" for the preferred area were reserving seats for their guests (our butler said he could not do that). On top of all that, the food was our least favorite and preparation "show" was lackluster. My advice, skip the hassle and enjoy one of the other fantastic places to eat. I suggest seeing Esther and Melvin in the CoCo Cafe. They make excellent coffee and are always smiling and kind. They will hook you up with food of you are going on an excursion, too. There were always an activity to look forward to (horseshoes, baseball, competitions, spans lessons, yoga and the like). The Event Staff was always informative but not pushy about getting involved. The bike ride to the Marina (With BIG BOY) was nice...bikes need new seats FOR SURE! Nightly entertainment was pretty tame. The two shows we saw were pretty good. The Queen show was our favorite. There was a party on the beach one night. Looked fun. We did not attend. Our only other complaint was with the Spa. It was a real disappointment. We bought hydro therapy and massages. The staff at the front desk seemed annoyed we were there. A guy pointed us at lockers with our robes and slippers then disappeared. We wandered out into the hydro therapy area (pools and saunas) with no direction from staff. After about 15 minutes of sitting there, my wife went to the front and took bottles of water for us and another couple who were also at the pools. The sauna and steam room were not working. Most of the jets in the pools and hot tubs were broken or 1/2 working. The massages were actually good, but definitely not the relaxing morning we were promised. Overall - We usually try not to go to the same place twice...but we will return to Cap Cana soon. The resort is absolutely beautiful. But what really made the trip was the Staff. Great people, great fun.

We have travelled many places with UVC to their Secrets resorts visiting places like Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic but this one takes the cake by far! It was the cleanest, most modern, and most fun resort we have visited to date. The wait staff, entertainment staff, bartenders, and concierges were all top notch. We would like to especially thank the following staff members for making this trip extra special and downright fun all day long - Diva & Mr. Coffee (Entertainment), Javier (bartender), and Steves (our Concierge)! These folks were so much fun and took excellent care of us during our stay! Many props to them! We will definitely be back and we would highly recommend the Oceanfront room as the view was fantastic and the room was good-size to house us for 8 days! Love this place!
