This is a tough review as I did have a good time, but left angry at some things. To be clear I understand the pandemic has effected a lot of things, but the changes to the hotel should be easily seen so you can make a educated decision when staying at the resort. Also, full disclosure I stayed here 4 years ago and base the review as well on the eyes if what they were. We booked the kantenah romance suites. We asked for the backside facing the ocean and was told it shouldn't be a problem. If you have never stayed in those rooms, your hammock and back patio jas a clear view through the trees to the ocean and you can lay out and listen to the waves. When we arrived we were told that the Kantenah was closed due to covid and had been closed over a year. They allow you to book and try to put you in a comparable room. They moved us from the ocean view to a similar room that was a direct view of trees... we asked for rooms viewing an ocean as that is what would be comparable. They said they didnt have any rooms like that. They then offered to upgrade us at $50 a night to there exclusive TRS hotel. That gave u a private pool and restaurant. We were there 7 nights. With another couple. That would be 700$ in total and still not have an ocean view. We stewed on it, went to our room and said f- it. Let's see if they have an ocean view. Came back. Yes, they do!!! But, that is an extra $135 a night or $1890. So now I have to walk away as that is just irritating and I don't feel it is the employees fault, but they said they were at 20% capacity and you leave feeling it us a classic bait and switch. The room was still nice, but you gi from the ocean view and sound of the ocean to a forest view or $1890 more to see the ocean. 2ndly they state they have all these a la carte restaurants and all the bars are open as well as buffet. That is simply untrue. Only 2 a la carte restaurants are open a night. They say to use the app to book them, I tried that.. the app was wrong on which restaurant was open that day. They only had 2 breakfast buffets 2 lunch and 1 dinner. So your choices are extremely limited. The food was good, La Adelita is not as advertised, it is traditional mexican... but you get more traditional mexican and better mexican at the buffets. The resort is nice. The pools were clean and beach clean and maintained. Some seaweed, but they did a good job keeping it clean. The pools have less water than normal, I think to save on costs, but unsure. They have a ocean filled saltwater pool, that last time we went was deeper, but this time it appears a lot of sand and rocks from ocean have filled it in and it isn't as maintained right now. All I all my friends left happy, annoyed at the rooms as we did walk them to the beach and showed the rooms we wanted. But, their first time here and were happy. I left happy, but still really aggravated about the rooms and the lack of adequate response to them. It was not a comparable move. It may have been the same room, but not the same experience by any stretch. Just be aware when booking as a lot has changed. A customer told me about a paladium fanclub Facebook group, so check that before coming as it has a bunch of the resort changes. But I probably won't be back. I have come to Riviera maya for 6 years now and the room change just really gets me. I can deal with the food and buffet change as staffing is low due to COVID. But, the room... that is a tough one.

The staff at the Grand Palladium were outstanding! The property is beautiful and well maintained. There was a problem with seaweed at the beach, but the staff did their best to stay ahead of it. Everyone was readily available and knowledgeable about the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!

We spent a week in a romantic villa in this AMAZING resort. Because of covid, a large part of the hotel rooms were closed, but all the amenities were open. Not so many ppl - quite appreciated. Very SAFE. We must highlight the GREAT SERVICE from all the employees (Veronica, Maria, Abigail, Valeria, Gerardo, Jacinto, Hector, Josue, Noe, Filomena, Griselda... all managed by the amazing Viridiana, even the photographer Gaby was excellent). The FOOD was great, specially at the mexican restaurant. They always took special care of the gluten intolerance of one of us. We could relax there, enjoy the sun, the POOL, the BEACH, margaritas, piña coladas, dance at night, the gym... everything amazing. Will 100% recommend it.

Nothing was as advertised. We had to eat the same Buffett for every meal because we could not get into any of the real restaurants. Spent a ton of time waiting to be picked up by golf carts because nothing is easy to find on foot. There is only one beer on the property. Dos xx which isn’t that bad. We needed help desperately because our rental car battery needed a jump start and the staff didn’t care at all.

Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely visit again!! Our family (15 altogether) stayed for 6 nights. The service was really good as were the restaurants that made accommodations for our large group. We didn't get to experience all of the restaurants, because they weren't all open and those that were open were not open everyday. The beach is absolutely beautiful!! It is well maintained with lots of beach chairs. We loved the activities in and out of the ocean. The pool is HUGE!! Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The grounds with its wonderful foliage and wildlife was stunning. We did however experience some small problems that absent the issues would have made the visit nearly perfect (1) working APP where restaurant reservations could be made (2) more transportation to get around the resort (3) free and better options for the room service menu (4) no power outages (they were very brief, but occurred almost nightly), and (5) more knowledgeable front desk staff. Although, we had these concerns, without hesitation our family would return.
