Overall experience.

I went with my family to the Bahia Principe Grand Coba and we had a great experience overall. The accommodation was clean all the time, and most of the staff are very friendly. We stay for 9 nights and we had a very pleasant experience. I want to highlight the kind and personal customer service of Aure, Manuel and Karina who works at Kulkucan restaurant and made our breakfasts and lunches an incredible experience. If you are looking for a friendly and wonderful people these are the people who you should look for. They were always trying to find ways to serve us fast and were always making nice toys for my children such as a "paper duck" with my kids name which makes the whole experience even better. The only part for improvement in my opinion is the air conditioning at the restaurants. The hot weather and lack of AC, makes the food experience a little bit unpleasant. The Indian restaurant was worse than a sauna and there was no way to open the Windows which made me end my dinner faster than expected due to the higher temperature. Overall it was a great experience and we would return to the hotel.

Great Experience

It was our first time visiting Mexico and we are glad we booked this hotel. We enjoyed our stay in this resort! it is a huge hotel and its connected to other hotels. Beach was amazing and over all the experience was great! I do recommend staying here if you haven't already!

Strong Mold smell in the rooms.

Sandra Patricia E on Apr 19, 2024

The rooms smell musty, high level of humidity amd poor air quality; all furniture, beds and walls smell mold. Buildings are not well maintained. No good especially if you have allergies or respiratory conditions like asthma, or rhinitis.

Great experience!!

Great resort! We had a great time. Food was really good and lots of options. The entertainment was great and always something to do.lots of drink options and made with top quality ingredients. The resort is huge but there are always trolleys zipping around to take you wherever you want to go. Our only complaint was the beds were a bit too hard, other then that the rooms were excellent.

Won't go back to Coba

Companion27907078457 on Apr 18, 2024

We've now been home for 24hrs. I took my two teenage daughters on a fun trip as we had been saving for it for quite some time. Our trip had positives and negatives. Unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives. Positives: The entertainment team at Coba is amazing!! They are energetic and excited to get to know the guests. Everyone at the pool was fantastic, a specific shout out to Damien who took extra time with the guests to get to know them! The shuttle and the shuttle drivers were friendly, on time and happy. They went out of their way to stop us closer to our destinations ie. The Dolphins. Food- Although the buffet us repetitive day after day it was hot and flavorful. Pool- Pools are clean Beach- Small area assigned to Coba but the area is the most sandy. The bar was never busy but there was no area to get food. Negatives: Room- Our room smelled damp all the time, limited sockets to charge your phone and/or electronics, the TV worked 50% of the time, the toilet consistently plugged regardless of what we did. House keeping was okay but never replenished our mini fridge unless we specifically asked them too. The power also went out repeatedly around dinner, which was scary as one child was in the shower and therefore left in the pitch dark! Check-in- Speedy but limited information was given. Upcharges for late check out or to have your bad upgraded to use food/bars at Tulum and Akumal. 30usd to check out at 3pm. $20usd pp per day to upgrade your band. I also told the front desk that this trip would be in lieu of a birthday present for my daughter, suggesting they could hang a happy birthday sign. There was no attempt to have this happen. Pool- get there early to get a spot under an umbrella! Not enough chairs to accommodate how many guests they have. Buffet- Ran out of plates, plates were sometimes dirty, waiters came around once. A la carte- only able to get a reservation one night! All other days booked up. App- Doesn't work. Teen club/gaming room- arcade games, pool, bowling- upcharge. We also saw two rodents run across the grass near the a la carte restaurants. I would stay at Bahia Principe again but not at Coba. It is definitely showing its age. If you are looking for a real all inclusive I would suggest the Barcelo complex.
