One of our best vacations ever.

gregv128 (Lenexa, Kansas) on Apr 13, 2024

Great hotel experience. The Sushi dinner was our favorite. Top notch service from Alberto, Francisco, and rodozfo . You do not have to tip at this resort but if you do, you will get better service. The gym is good. There are lots classes and entertaining activities. Will come again.

Amazing

Bee M on Apr 12, 2024

Wish that there were more activities, and wish they were more clear about where activities were being held, but over all amazing. I did the buffet for every meal and it was very good with a lot of options. Highly recommend and didn’t disappoint

Awesome service from check in once we arrived we’re welcomed with a drink checked in and luggage’s were held till room was ready, while waiting we walked around the resort, grabbed a bite at the buffets. Pool and bar attendants were awesome and upbeat especially TonyFlow from entertainment welcomed us as family definitely will be back with more time to enjoy everything the resort has to offer

Great Experience!

Lisa F on Apr 08, 2024

We had a great experience at the Grand Riviera Princess. The grounds and beach are beautiful, there are lots of animals, and the staff are fantastic and work hard to keep everything clean and well maintained. The buffets had many options to choose from, and the a la carte restaurants were all very good. We booked a family club swim up room which was close to the pirate buffet and ice cream shop. The kids pool and structured club activities are geared towards kids who are a bit younger, as our 9 and 13 year old did not use the kids pool area and were not interested in the structured kids activities for the most part, but as a family we enjoyed the pool table, fooseball, and air hockey on the teen side which all family members can access from 1-3pm. My kids also used the ice cream shop frequently, and while the pirate buffet wasn’t as good as the bigger ones, it was close and we could pop in for breakfast or a quick snack easily which was a plus for us. We would 100% recommend and re-book a family club swim up room, it was perfect as it is a bit separated from the main pools and we enjoy a quieter resort experience so it was ideal….we had the swim up pool to ourselves most days and the kids could go in and out whenever they wanted while the adults relaxed on the back deck without having to trek to the main pools. Always a lounge chair available there too, no need to get up early and claim one (which is what we were seeing at the main pools). We didn't even go to the main pools, as the pool at our room was so convenient! Totally depends what type of experience you are looking for. There is something for everyone at the resort with all the different room categories, features, and options. We were a bit nervous from reading some of the reviews prior to going, but now that we have experienced it, we would absolutely recommend it and return to this resort.

Amazing time in Paradise

Jennifer B on Apr 07, 2024

Review overall trip including airport - our first time in Mexico. Flight and airport : We booked with air Canada vacations. Flight was great. Customs in Mexico was great. Waiting for bags took about 30ish minutes. After bags they have security who randomly search bags they also had a dog smelling bags too. If you aren’t chosen keep walking no need to stop. You’ll go through a hallway with timeshare people on both sides keep saying no, then you’ll go outside where there’s a large group of shuttle people continue through that as well, unless you booked a private shuttle. Air Canada had a large red bus labelled air Canada vacation just need to make sure the bus is going to your resort. The drive to the resort took about an 45 minutes we stopped at one other resort. Resort: Checkin: Upon arrival we didn’t wait very long. We got offered a swim out room which I loved and I said sure to the upgrade - then the individual checking us in walked away and came back and said that it was “gone” he then tried to upsell us on platinum and we said no thank you. I strongly believe that this was all about upselling us. They make commission when they upsell. I asked for a main floor room I got a 3rd - thankfully close to an elevator. Room: We stayed in room 6219 which was great location for the pools, shuttle and smaller buffet. Our room there are no complaints. Water was great for showers, doors closed, jacuzzi tub was great, private balcony, minimal noise and very spacious. Bed was comfy and so were the pillow’s. We left our key in the key holder and had zero issues so the room was pretty cool the whole day. Pools/Resort Grounds We woke up by 8am every morning to “claim” our spot at the pool. Every day we were able to claim a decent spot. Pools were great. We did experience a smoker who dumped his ash in the water but I think that’s just due to them being drunk. Pool bars had great service. You may end up waiting but that’s normal. They have kiddie pools for infants/toddlers. The pool close to the platinum area has a slow decline when going into the pool so it’s shallow on one end. The resort is stunning. Food: Sports bar : was fantastic for both drinks and food. We had the pulled pork sandwhich , burger, nachos and fries and all were good. My husband raves about how good the fries were. 9/10 Buffets: There were alot of options. Each night is a different theme. Veggies, fruit, meats, cheese etc. We didn’t venture off of what we know and didn’t have seafood from the buffet or sandwhich meats. The pasta station is great, the fajitas or taco’s were good, they had steak which was good , the guacamole was decent. The morning omelettes were my favorite. A la carts: We ended up booking four. I used the app to book them. I recommend checking at 7-7:15 every night. Mama Mia was fantastic La Hacienda was alright - my husband said he thought it was boring Miso Teppanyaki- was phenomenal La Vaqueria - was alright the ribs weren’t the best. Taco cart & Burger cart were fantastic. Overall food was 8/10 I would say that you need to remember your in a different country when eating there. They have different rules regarding ingredients they use , colour dye , syrup usage etc. Be careful on the floors in the hotel room if they are wet. I slipped and fell - I wish alcohol was the main factor but it wasn’t lol. I highly recommend this resort and I am already day dreaming about going back.
