Not the worst but not the best

We just got back from our vacation at this resort. I will start with the positives. The resort is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. If you enjoy wild life you’ll love this resort. There were literal flamingos walking through the lobby on our last day. The food at the resort was what you’d expect from an all inclusive. The breakfast buffet was really great with a lot of options. The hibachi specialty restaurant was great. The hidden gem when it came to food was the burger bar in the “shopping center”. It was absolutely delicious, 10/10. Also the resort does a great job of accommodating vegan options. Now for the negatives- The lunch buffets weren’t great but again to be expected from an all inclusive. You only had so many reservations you were allowed to make depending on the amount of days you were staying. My biggest frustration was the service. While not bad it also wasn’t great. Every all inclusive I’ve been to and this would make #5 the staff has also been so nice and helpful. This resort maybe because it was so big just didn’t give that same feeling of being waited on. It literally felt like I was being an inconvenience when I asked for a drink. There was not one staff member that stood out as being super helpful and pleasant. There were also a lot of time restrictions on restaurants or bars and nothing opened on time. While overall I enjoyed my stay I don’t think I would come back again. I’ve spent less on better quality service at other resorts in Cancun.
Beautiful eco friendly hotel

Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff, beach, and food. Christian made sure that all the food I had was safe for me as I have severe food allergies. The gym was well equipped and the room clean. If you are looking for eco friendly hotel this is the place to be. The only negative point I have is that I would have like to have more coffee in the room but that didn’t spoil my stay.
Heed the reviews that note this resort as average

The subject title was used to grab your attention. We are only a few days into our trip, and have 4 more days here. First I’ll note the staff are very nice, the beach (and bar) is nice, the buffet food and drinks are nice, and the lobby bar is nice. BUT I think at this price point ‘nice’ is the least it should be. The grounds are very pretty which is, so far the only plus. BUT we knew this when purchasing. We booked with requests of room (we did not pick our room), such as no ground floor and double beds as I was travelling alone with my daughter. The front desk put us in the DelMar side of the resort not the Beach side stating it’s all the same. Pretty sure the DelMar is a little a less price point than the Beach. There was no room at the Beach so we had to take the DelMar room. The room is very dated and old. The wall scone lamp shades had stains running down them, the bedframes were worn and stained as well. The curtains partly handling off the track and torn along the bottom. There were no plugs near the beds, and the rooms were overall dark (even though the walls are painted cream). The bathroom was worse, yes dated and old with single sink, terrible lighting, not a proper shower head but a hand held on a rod (so if you’re tall it would not work for you), the shower was in the tub which was very curved on inside making getting out wet an accident waiting to happen as you have to take a large step over and out to get to the floor. And no shower curtain. So 2 people can’t use the washroom at the same time to get ready or use the toilet as it is located behind the door. You have to open the door and close it to use the toilet. Sure many people close the door to use the bathroom, but if someone was in the bathroom they would have to move out of the washroom for you to use the toilet. You would have to also close the door to use the hairdryer as the open door is close to the dryer. There appears to be mold under the vanity on the tile floor and walls. Mildew around the caulking around the tub, and the stains on the tub as well. Balcony had mismated furniture, which seems cheap. We switched the next day to the Beach room, and the room was more updated which was better (and again the least it should have been), BUT that was about all the was different. And to be honest I haven’t taken a closer look because I’m very frustrated at the condition of the rooms for the price we paid. I think rooms like this would be at a far less price point, maybe $1500-1800/person CDN. We visited the Majestic in Punta Cana 5 years ago and paid about $1875/person CDN and the resort rooms were WAY better than these. We haven’t seen any shows at the resort itself, so not sure if there are any. We saw the entertainment team teaching dancing to the crowd on the beach in the evening, but that’s not entertaining. We will investigate the entertainment more BUT the shows at the Lindo theatre were very expensive. I had also read that when purchasing the trip. We will not recommend this resort nor will we return. I know there are a lot of excellent reviews for this and there are lots of nice things BUT in my opinion these are expectations for an average resort. We did quite a lot of research but the photos don’t show these things and maybe my expectations are higher than they should be. We research more extensively next time.
AMAZING RESORT IN EVERY WAY!!

This resort is outstanding in so many ways!! Our room was in building 41, right by the buffet and lobby. It was very comfortable!!! I slept like a baby every night, so did my husband. We loved the balcony and our friendly peacock who came to visit every day!! It was quite a walk to the beach/pool area, but I loved that as I would get up early and pick where our group of 4 would sit for the day! My average step count each day was 15,000 steps, which was great since the food and drinks were wonderful and I definitely took advantage of this haha!! The buffet was excellent!!!! So so so many choices of food. I loved how it changed each day, yet maintained some familiar sections. Breakfast was fantastic as well!! All the chocolate croissants I could eat….ahhhhh!!! :) The pool was so much fun!! The staff does some fun things to watch or join, and I loved the music that played at the pool bar area!! If you like it quieter, you could go to the other side of the pool bar, as each side has one. And if you like it really quiet, there is plenty of space a little further down. The pool is massive!!! The beach is gorgeous! You definitely want to get there early for a chair. I would be down there by 7:30, for front row seats, you’d want to be earlier than that. The water color is spectacular!!! I loved the beach bar and food that’s always accessible….along with bathrooms. There are bathrooms by the pool as well!! If you like animals, this is the place for you!! Flamingos, peacocks, coatis, all kinds everywhere!! I loved it!! As far as the people who work here….I cannot even begin to tell you how absolutely amazing they all were!! They were incredibly hard working, I’ve never seen people work so hard at a resort. And they always had smiles on their faces. Such kind people. They were just the BEST!!! I would definitely come back. I was there 14 years ago and it’s only gotten better!! We had the best time. Thank you to all the wonderful people there who made our stay the best!!
