Staff: This was the best part of the trip. Everyone was very friendly. We especially loved Victor in the Adult Only Beach Bar and his five specialty shots, and Rosa at the Adult Only Pool. Room: Not great but we didn't spend a lot of time in it. Didn't find the beds/pillows comfortable at all. Shower and bathroom was nice. Some of our group had issues with A/C but it was fixed quickly. Love the water jug but took a while to get it refilled. Room service is a joke, they don't answer the phones (we could hear it ringing in the lobby). Food: Food is fine, not great. If you want to do teppanyaki, you have to book it IMMEDIATELY upon arrival, which we did not do and didn't have a chance to try (next availability was in 7 days). The Brazilian restaurant for breakfast and lunch is the best, as well as the Mediterranean. Had a bad experience at a restaurant regarding bookings that we already had a booking for but the hostess would not believe us and was very rude. Activities: Water park is super fun even for adults! We didn't take advantage of the activities but it seemed like there was a lot to do, the dance class on the beach looked really fun. Did a massage on the beach that was actually pretty good. Pools: We never used the main pool because it was full of kids. This resort seems great for kids - next time we will probably try an adults only resort. Sports bar: Has two tiny TVs and apparently no remotes so don't expect to watch any of the games in the sports bar, though you can in your room.

Had a great experience with Malena and Isaias from the reception desk. They were extremely helpful and accommodating and got us checked in quickly while offering perfect service. They were able to check our baggage while we enjoyed a great dinner

I had a great experience with Malena Isaias from the reception desk! I would definitely recommend coming here and getting help from her. She was super helpful, informative, and knowledgeable about the resort which made my experience amazing!

Been in this hotel 9 years ago and came back, new management and things changed a bit. Night entertainment areas were moved around pain to get there or try to see anything.. Food used to be better. Excellent hotel to travel with kids very kids friendly but after a certain age screaming kids can be too much . ( I have a child too) There is an adult only area but I find it really close to the family area. There is hardly anything to do for older kids like 12 and up .Kids club takes kids under 12 , basket ball court is not functional, no basket ball, bikes are ready to fall apart. There is no paddle board we were told there is. Table tennis is good and the pool also. So my 12 year old was pretty bored and he decided to forge his date of birth and went into the kids club to play on the wiiu a clever way to get a tan! Wont recommend it for people with special dietary needs or allergies like shellfish or peanut allergy because almost everything is contaminated so bring your own food and epi pen. Not for anybody with MCS or scent allergy every washroom reeks from some air freshener it is very strong also the mosquito repellent offered on the resort has some weird fragrance most likely is full with chemicals. Scent wise the room was good we put the do not disturb sign out and there was no cleaning done at all since before in Jamaica we did not and our room was bleached. So we smartened up. Price was right we paid $775 each staff was nice and helpful. Every morning we got a not requested wake up call from our rep to go for some meeting, still pissed about that( especially when you try to sleep in on vacation) even after telling her that we do not care about any meeting still got the phone call the next morning . Beach is rocky if you looking for nice beach head to Cuba. We did not take any excursions did all before. I would recommend the Chichen Itza tour that is a must see. Spa: We went for a massage for 80 min for like $120 then we did an other on the beach for 60 min for $25 the huge difference was the price and not the massage quality. On the beach a nice guy did the massage unfortunately I do not remember his name we observed them first how they worked , then after we asked for a sample massage and we went for it. So the choice is yours you can almost have a massage every day from $120 but go for the guys, the ladies were chatting over the clients head and imitating the massage. Gym : cardio equipment is good but rest is outdated no 30lbs dumbbells the highest dumbbell is 50lbs but only one set so you have to fight for the weights I guess that is how you make friends. Well I am sure that Arnold did not have fancy machines either and with a bit of creativity and old school body building moves you can do all muscle groups lower weights higher reps. They need to get more weights. Yoga : On the hotels website the yoga is advertised at 8:00 am on the resorts activity board yoga/stretching is advertised at 10:00. So we went for 10:00 it was on the beach, you get this rolled up thick foam it would be a shame to call it a yoga mat and a clown in Homer Simpson socks acting like a yoga instructor, this person had no clue about yoga worst class ever ! But I am not the person who gives it up easily so I went back the next day hoping that Homer Simpson has a day off, there was an other guy and I asked him that what is the deal with yoga because this is crap looks like my honesty paid off because he finally spat it out that there is professional yoga class on the resort and the spa people will tell me. So because of this we lost 2 days of yoga practise and almost hired a private investigator to find out about yoga. THE REAL YOGA: Starts at 8:00 by the Mexican Restaurants platform by Juan Carlos ( not Homer Simpson) and he teaches Ashtanga by the traditional way. Not urban yoga, yoga with weights, yoga boot camp just pure yoga nothing crazy. He is a very good and knowledgeable instructor.( trust me on this I practise Ashtanga and I am also a yoga teacher.) From him you get the full yoga experience we were there every day. HE SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONE TEACHING YOGA AT THE RESORT!! The foam mats are not suitable for yoga at all since they slip on the deck big time and that calls for an injury!!! Decent yoga mats are not to expensive either. I also need to mention the photographers on the beach Julio and Millan. I had no intention to take any pictures at all I was playing with my son on the beach posing for him and he was taking crazy pictures. Then Julio came over and offered to take pictures,no obligation and if I like any we can work on the price. Since I had nothing to lose I went with it and Oh boy those pics turned out to some very sexy pics I was not expecting that at all. No make up, no hair do just natural pictures without any fake look or poses. My husband was very impressed with them too,I can not post those pictures since few people might find it inappropriate but you can send me a question and I can provide their facebook link to check their work. Their prices are fair prices and not like others who charge a fortune and instead of pictures you get a heart attack . You can also prebook a session if it is involves preparation before like make up, hair special occasions. In overall for the price it was good but for a higher price not. I bit about our travels Cuba twice,Bahamas,Panama,,Costa Rica,Mexico twice,Jamaica. Our requirements good gym, yoga every day and sunshine!

This was our 4th trip to Sandos Caracol and we brought my sister and brother in law along. We had not been to the resort since 2017 and a lot has changed and we were disappointed! The snack bar is no longer open and the food at buffet was good,....it was mostly the same every night especially the desserts. The restaurants staff were running around like they were short staff...no time to chat and hardly time to fill your wine glass. No robes or slippers in our room. Not sure if there is less staff as we noticed the resort just wasn't as clean. On a positive note Juana and Roy were great bartenders at the Select Club swim up pool. Very friendly and knowledgeable and always teaching us a bit of spanish as we order our cocktails. Although we did enjoy our vacation , we just noticed a lot has changed since we signed up in 2014
