Just returned from this resort. Very enjoyable. Staff a very nice. Check in was easy. Daniel at the desk was very accomiding. Rain every day was not very nice. Food was good. Say 7 out of 10 . Confused why $5 us dollars for 1 oz.. of Canadian club at the lobby bar. Stuck to local brands so we did not go broke. We had 2 messages at the spa. Great price and great staff. Entertainment guys and girls where fantastic. Shout out to Flo. Did the Safari tour to the beach. Great time. Jackie our guide was very nice. Over all a good time

Visited this resort last March and enjoyed it so much we returned in January. Although the weather didn’t cooperate - lots of rain - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival we had several significant issues with our sea view room, but this was quickly resolved as we were moved to a new room without hesitation. Thank you Danny! The resort is absolutely beautiful; the food was good (we ate in all the restaurants); the rooms are spacious and very clean; and the entertainment was decent. This was a last minute getaway for us, so mostly relaxed at the pool and on the beach. As with our first visit, the staff at Cayacoa are efficient and friendly.

    High standard and incredible surroundings.

Of a much higher standard than your average all inclusive as the quality of service is really exemplary and the attitude of the staff is absolutely exceptional. I would highly recommend this resort to couples or groups that enjoy a holiday lying by the beach or the pool as the surroundings are wonderful and there are a lot of pools to choose from (4 I believe, including the ones close to the villas) Other positives include: Very good gym facilities for weight training considering the usual standard in resorts is below average. The staff make this resort what it is, I really can’t stress enough how happy they appear to be. With special thanks to Anthony who was a diligent waiter and so pleasant. I appreciated the small touches such as hand sanitizer before every meal and fairly ok wifi coverage throughout the premises including some places on the beach. Absolutely incredible views from the room (420) The villas looked adorable too but didn’t see inside, the appearance from the outside looked very sweet. The hairdryer in the room was much better than standard hotels provide, it was full sized and strong. The safe did not work and this was quickly fixed. The transfer from the airport is very short, about 40 mins. The cons: If you are a group that like to go on lots of excursions and can’t lie on the beach day after day then be prepared to spend upwards of 40 or 50 USD for each individual excursion which can be organized from the beach as people walk past selling various things. I did the waterfall, which was beautiful (but the horse ride up in torrential rain was petrifying) my group did the fishing excursion (was very successful) and a beach one too. There is not a lot to see in the town, we took the hotel provided golf cart down into the town and aside from some trinket touristy shops there isn’t much to hang around for and I wouldn’t recommend loitering too much either. The room itself was beautiful but the daily cleaning not especially thorough. Beds made daily and water replenished daily though. Toiletries replenished sporadically, bath and shower seemingly not cleaned at all (in 12 days) as I would come back from the beach to wash away the sand and day after day the sand would remain in the bottom of the bath or shower. We left tips to see if that would make a difference to the quality but it did not. Our room had issues with the key card. Once a day one of the two key cards would stop working. At the beginning, I went to the reception desk each day to ask them to fix it, which they did, but the next day the same thing would happen again. I got tired and embarrassed to keep asking at the desk after the 4th time so we were down to one card for the rest of the 12 day stay. It’s not a big issue, just an FYI that it was glitchy. The iron provided looked good but did not work The sink leaked profusely and after the safe, the key card, the iron etc I couldn’t face going down to reception to ask one more time about this. Oddly, the cleaner would have known it was leaking, as they had to mop up the flood each morning coming from the back of the sink, seems strange that maintenance was not informed by housekeeping. Queuing to enter the dining hall to eat lunch two or three times seemed odd. Even with the cons, rest assured this hotels service is superior to many, many all-inclusive resorts. The hotel is small enough that you don’t’ feel you are part of a conveyor belt service.

    The best ever

I have been to dozens of Caribbean All-Inclusives. This is by far the most picturesque. On a peninsula just outside of Samana town. All rooms (3 sides) view the water from way above. Hourly shuttle (20 min walk) to downtown. Amazing pool(s) on cliff. Elevator 4 stories to the beach. Amenities similar to other 5 Stars. Decent Buffet, night entertainment, etc. I can't imagine how anyone could give it less than 4 Stars. Humpback whale watching Jan 15 - March 15. Thousands arrive to mate.
