Highs: Best eggs benedict ive ever eaten (Toscaninis Italian Resturant), Alcohol, Sailing (free), Kayaking (free), reception staff. Lows: Staff generally rude, locals & starving children on the beach, three of the resturants on the beach all with different names have exactly the same menu's with poor choices, Breakfast & lunch buffets were seriously below adequate, all deserts were like little gelatine tasters which actually tasted awful. Ive tasted better in a 3*, No real evening entertainment, rooms big but dated, paint peeling off balcony roof. Overall extremeley disappointed as this was our 1st time back to Sandels since we got married in the Royal Caribbean in Jamaica 13 years ago. Needless to say we will not be going back as we felt the brand has since gone down hill. I am a firm beliver of you get what you pay for and this instance we certainly didnt get that.

I have just left this resort and wanted to write my review straight away. I have had the most wonderful holiday here and can not find fault with anything. All staff were amazingly friendly and kept me smiling and busy the whole holiday. My butlers Immer, Michelle and Kenwin were especially brilliant and I loved their company throughout my trip. I had been apprehensive about last minute going the holiday alone and they immediately put all my stress and anxieties at ease. Dexter also kept me entertained at the beach during the day which was great. So much to choose from when it came to dining out and all food I had was lovely. The place as a whole was simply stunning and did not feel the need to leave the resort all trip. Felt so sad having to leave and already can’t wait to come back next year! Thank you for a holiday I will never forget.

Both Pamela and Lance were very attentive to every detail of our candlelit dinner. We were not rushed in any way. The food was excellent from appetizers all the way through dessert. We are here at Sandals Grande St. Lucia but we will visit Toscaninis one additional time because of the excellent staff.

Where to begin? The ride from airport to the hotel is not that bad, the bus has big windows and it is air-conditioned. I was worried we'd have to take the helicopter because I very car-sick but this was not the case. You will fine, take a non-drowsy gravol if you are worried (it is a long ride). The check-in experience was unnecessarily long, they had you basically make a profile on an ipad and sign about 5 times. The room we got the lover's lagoon which was one of the cheaper options (still cost over $7000 CAD) and our room was unimpressive with a view of a parking lot, we did not care much because we don't spend much time in the room on vacation. It was clean and nice, a bit small but good location (close to lobby etc.). Apparently, we were supposed to get a honeymoon package which they asked us about on our last night and we said we hadn't gotten it yet. I think Sandals is really good at correcting things when you complain so they expect people to constantly complain to them during their vacation in order to make it better. They are good at making things better but not good at making things good in the first place. The service was not great. Most the staff seemed bored and apathetic, not smiling or rude, not making eye-contact or saying hello when passing you by. The only people that get the smiles and eye-contact are those with butlers and let me tell you they really pay for it. They would constantly forget our drinks when ordering at the restaurants. - The best food was sushi at Soy by far, service was not great there either, we wanted to order some more rolls once we knew which ones we liked and the server did not come back to us for a long time. - Kimonos (hibachi-style) was not great. We had a reservation at 7, when we got there there were already 8 people there and they had already started. The meal felt rushed and our chef was boring and did not do anything special. Other tables had chefs that would make them laugh or would fling food at them which is what we expected. We went to Soy after that meal and were judged by the server who said this is your second dinner. - Gordon's was nothing to write home about, good food, good service, nothing special. No sunset seatings so you can't take advantage of their beautiful location to eat during sunset. - Bombay was awesome, good food, fantastic service! Very worth it, wish we had done it twice. - The lunch buffet at Bayside was rather small and very unimpressive for breakfast and lunch so we preferred to go to Toscannini's for breakfast. They take long but the food is really good. *** side note on Toscanini's the only restaurant that requires men to wear pants, apparently this is not the case for breakfast I saw guests in T-shirts, tank tops and shorts. However, one day we requested to be seated inside for breakfast and were told we couldn't because my husband was wearing shorts (so inconsistent with their messages). The pool bartenders were great, especially Peter! Peter specials are delicious, just trust him, he is always smiling and nice and people love to have him there. He's the most note-worthy staff member in that entire resort. The Beach is beautiful, the rafts in the water are awesome, it's fantastic that the water activities are included. We took advantage of those. There were good options for chairs in the shade. There is a lot of seating room across this entire resort. The entertainment? Question mark because there didn't seem to be much. Nothing during the day except 1 day a wekk for the foam party, then I think I saw them bring out a corn hole game once for about a half hour and then put it away. You don't see much of the entertainers, they don't go around and socialize with guests. They don't have good shows or a good stage setup for shows. I think the only time a stage was setup was for the fashion show (which ended up being the most entertaining nights funnily enough, mostly because of the fire-breathers and steel drums). Overall, this was our honeymoon. We can't redo it, so we paid a lot of money to get spoiled and we did not. We are not the type of people to complain, I never write reviews. But consdering what a big life event this was for us we were very disapointed. We just wanted friendly smiling servers, good food, some entertainment and a beautiful beach. I don't believe the sandals hype, I would not return to a sandals hotel, I don't want others to experience this disspointment on their honeymoon or anniversary. If you want to go spend the extra money on a butler, or complain a lot to get better service.

If you’re looking for sun, sea, fun and being indulged, with great food and wine, come here - you will be delighted. This is simply a paradise and Sandal’s staff couldn’t be any more helpful & attentive. The quality & variety of food on offer is better than anything we’ve experienced in our regularly far flung travels. As well as the food/wine, Included in the price is access to its Water Sports. Only a few years away from retrial, we tend to leave such things to youngsters. However, Junior and Ken took us sailing, encouraged us to canoe and take high speed boat rides to the islands attractions. Loved it! Went to Kimonos, Japanese Restaurant - fantastic; Gordon’s on the Pier, double fantastic and our favourite overall was Toscanini’s, Italian where we ate breakfast “fluffy blueberry pancakes” and some lovely dinners in romantic setting. If you’re thinking of booking; go ahead - you won’t be disappointed!
