Room was fantastic, amazing view of the outer harbour, staff was very friendly and welcoming and catered to all our needs. Hotel was undergoing some renovation work, but did everything to make the stay as pleasant as possible regardless.

I stayed at the Inn at Laurel Point five years ago and remembered it fondly, so I recommended it when my parents were visiting (I accompanied them on this trip). However, the hotel is currently being remodeled and much of the charm of the hotel is missing (the patios and waterfront access are closed — breakfast is in a conference room). I would be willing to forgive this if the hotel was a “deal”, but we paid about $250 US/night which wasn’t particularly cheap. Additionally, one night I ordered room service (cookies and some liquor, so no preparation time) and the staff seemed incompetent. I called once, gave my order, had to repeat it multiple times. Called back thirty minutes later, was told my order had never been entered and that the person who took it had gone home. It took another 30 minutes to get my stuff delivered, had to call again. I’d consider staying here again after the remodel is complete, but not before.

We've been going to Victoria since the 1994 Commonwealth games and this was the first hotel we used. It wasn't the last time either. The Erickson Wing is the best place to stay with the best views, beautiful bathroom, balcony, etc. The hotel which is undergoing renovations has one the best restaurants the Aura with its open patio - but that was not available and the restaurant was given a temporary home in one of the banquet rooms. We had the executive suite for 2 nights having spent 5 nights previous in the executive suite of Victoria Regent which was the result of a delightful 'bump up' from the management from what we had booked, the 2 bedroom regular suite. And herein lies the basis of this review. Comparatively, if you have more than 2 people, particulary adults, and you want an 'executive' suite the Regent has two bedrooms, a modern kitchen, 2 bathrooms, separate washer and dryer room. LP has one bedroom, one bath, no kitchen, no washer and dryer, period. And while the small fridge at Victoria Regent was fuly stocked the small fridge at Laurel Point was empty. Leaving aside the fact you get a full modern fridge at VR of course which we used when we picked up various items, cold meats, cheeses, etc. for those evenings we wanted to stay indoors and admire those great inner harbour views at the Victoria Regent that you get with all the rooms where it is offered. Since the VR executive has great inner harbour views we could view the fireworks last long weekend from our balcony close-up. But alas this review is about Laurel Point's executive. While it does not measure up in numerous points to the VR's executive, it does have those great inner and outer harbour views and a 'wrap around deck'. Even has great views from the bathroom! The last couple of years we have used the Victoria Regent Hotel for a number of reasons not the least is we have taken our adult daughter on the trips and that second bedroom and second bath is invaluable - and that's just their regular 2 bedroom suites with the harbour views not the executive. If you have a third party who is a grown adult nothing beats having that second bedroom and second bath. Not the Mayrs suite, not the executive suite and even if you get the Erickson Wing Terrace bedroom suite you have one bedroom with the latter suite separated by pocket doors in the living area and one bathroom and no kitchen because the regular 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suites at VR have full kitchens (including the one room suites by the way). Don't get me wrong, their regular Erickson Wing suites are great for two adults and even a child or two but teens or another adult along then the preference by far is to any of the Victoria Regent's regular two bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms. Apart from the rooms you have a swimming pool as well which is a great feature of any hotel. A criticism I had in the past with the Erickson Wing suites was the glass partitions between the rooms on the balconies. The lack of privacy I think makes this separation incomprehensible and I don't know if they even addressed this as I stopped posting on TA the last few years and recently re-registered. Fortunately if you are in the executive suite that is not a problem as the full balcony affords you that privacy not being buttressed against another suite with a balcony.

We stayed here for 2 nights in August. renovation work is ongoing but had very little impact on guests..The Inn at Laurel Point is in a great location and is approx 5-10mins walk from the inner harbour. Our room was clean and spacious had a small balcony with views of the water, you can see the ferries arriving/departing. In room facilities included tea and coffee, kettle and coffee maker, small fridge, iron, safe, hairdryer. WiFi was excellent. Our package included breakfast and parking ,which we considered good value for money. Secure underground parking is available, either self park or valet. We definetly recommend this hotel now and most certainly in the future when renovations are complete. A warm welcome awaits you here from all members of staff

Friendly, helpful staff and great location made for good stay here. Rooms slightly dated but being upgraded. Once renovations finished I’m sure it will be 5! V close to Fisherman’s wharf and water taxis and short walk down town. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
