Aruba Ariba!

Erin S on Apr 20, 2024

This is our 3rd family gathering at the Divi All-Inclusive (24-40 people). The location, gorgeous beach, friendly & attentive staff, & variety of food & fun things to do keeps us coming back! Definitely our favorite beach on Aruba, great gym to work out in, yoga, lots of offerings for kids. The spa services are top notch. One of the included activities is an e-bike & snorkel trip to Boca Catalina- do it! Zef & Donni, the tour guides, were SO much fun & totally added to the experience. Fun e-bike ride through town (Zef & Donni made us feel very confident for our first time riding these) to a gorgeous beach. They kept safety first the entire bike ride and throughout the snorkel adventure, which is important to me as a mom. We swam with sooo many sea turtles (surreal and beautiful), pufferfish, butterfly fish, and schools of thousands of small fish. When we wrapped up the snorkeling, the provided wraps, drinks, baked goods, and fruit (which was needed after all the time in the ocean). Z & D were informative about the island and its conservation efforts. That’s just one of the many magical moments we’ve had while staying with Divi! Divi feels like a home away from home.

Rooms are going downhill

Melissa S on Apr 20, 2024

The room was clean - stayed in Divi Village. However, all of the rooms would really benefit from a coat of paint to cover the dirt and scuff marks on the doors and walls. But unfortunately that is not my biggest disappointment… our bathtub in the main bath was absolutely horrible. I can’t believe they rented the unit out with the tub looking like the pic I am sharing. It seems their standards are lowering every year. I’ve been coming here for 12 years and my husband 30. Also, the woman at the check in desk the first day was absolutely horrible. We know the system for check in so we are extremely low maintenance and laid back during check in. However she seemed incredibly inconvenienced by having to help us get checked in and she actually gave my husband attitude any time he asked a question. She was very condescending. The next day however there was a gentleman working the desk and he was wonderful so it was not an across the board experience. Per usual the beach was great, Enrique at the pool bar was fantastic and the breakfast crew at Mulligans was top notch and friendly. But Divi you have to start doing better with your rooms please.

Not Really an all inclusive

117Paul (Entebbe, Uganda) on Apr 17, 2024

We arrived yesterday. While the beach is beautiful, it is not really an all inclusive like we are used to. We were not able to eat at any restaurant for dinner (except for the cafeteria) because they were ALL “booked” for 2 days. And you can only book dinner 2 days in advance!! So we went to the cafeteria, but they were out of desserts. They offer a bike and snorkel trip on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tried to get that… yes, both days booked. So … beautiful beaches but don’t expect an all inclusive like we have liked in the Dominican Republic or Jamaica or Mexico

Time for an update...

richygirl (Melbourne, Florida) on Apr 16, 2024

We have visited this resort for nearly 20 years. A lot has changed, and not all for the better. We love the proximity to the beach, literally steps from your door. The Vistas rooms are finally being updated. I saw a peek of the new designs and they look good. A much-needed upgrade. The restaurants have all been updated and menus updated. I think all were for the better, except for Ginger. The old menu was better and the service, too. The buffets are pretty good and offer many options for meals. The Tamarijn is updating its pool and pool bar area and adding a new tapas restaurant. Another option is needed because it is very difficult to get desirable times because some guests "game the system" by making multiple reservations in case they change their minds, essentially blocking others from dining then. I wish the resort would find a way to block this. The people of the Divi/Tam are mostly very kind and helpful. The front desk is very stringent and often unhelpful. It is very difficult to get a room that you request...I should know because I have tried everything and still can't seem to get my selected room even though I communicate numerous times in advance. I'm not sure how many times you have to stay there before they want to help you out! Maybe 21? My real gripe was the Americans who seem to have swarmed to this once quiet and lovely oasis by the sea. They get drunk and blare their bluetooth speakers on the beach and by the pool, caring little for those of us trying to relax, read, enjoy a peaceful time, or for sleeping babies, napping others. Drunk and rude. I felt like I was in Myrtle Beach, not Aruba. At dinnertime, I had to sit by a young man who used foul language the entire dinner, shouting, cursing, rude behavior. Small children were nearby and it was the old "I'm on vacation," mentality. And forget getting a beach palapa if you don't rise before the sun. People stake their claim and then rarely even sit there. This is a nice resort, not the Ritz, but you go there for the promity to beautiful beaches, feeling of safety, and relaxing (sometimes relaxing) atmosphere. The food is good, lots of options, but the beach is the draw. Few places in the Carribbean offer rooms so close to beautiful white sand beaches. It's worth a visit, but leave the Bluetooth speaker at home.

No peace or tranquility here

JulieinSechelt (Sechelt, Canada) on Apr 16, 2024

Divi AI is a lovely property- great beach, spacious rooms, lots of daytime dining options. Its problems are operational not physical. It shares its facilities with at least two other Divi resorts- Tamarijin and Golf- so guests from those hotels pile in every day to enjoy the beach, pools etc. While we were there they came in groups of 12+ with many children in tow. So the beach is overcrowded, so are the pools and the restaurants. Kids are screaming from 8am til 11pm when the bar closes. There is no peace or tranquility here. Their restaurant booking system is terrible- I tried booking at 2am and 6am for 2 days out (the earliest you can book) and the only seating offerings I ever got were 5pm or 9pm- not sure who’s getting those prime 6:30pm to 8pm times or how. So you end up in the cafeteria-style restaurant where the food is good but by the time you’ve collected all the parts of your meal it’s stone cold. This could be a great resort if they managed the volume - but the crowding and noise are a constant here. Would not return.
