Celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary a month later and it was sooooooo worth it! We stayed in Crystal Lagoon Luxury Honeymoon Room with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub - LX. It was luxurious! The shower was HUGE!!!! Loved the bathtub outside with a curtain for privacy. It rained almost everyday for a short period of time but thankful for it because the 1 day it didn't it was sooooooooo hot! Loved going on the Hobby Cat, paddle board and just spending all our time at the beach and in the ocean. The variety of restaurants were great with so many options on each menu. We felt super safe traveling from Vancouver to Toronto to Barbados and our time at Sandals. We were asked to have our temperature taken twice a day and sent to health officials through Whatsap. and a picture taken 3 times during our 7 night stay. We had a Covid test done 72 hours prior and less than 24 hours after landing we had our next Covid test. Just had to pay the taxi $50 U.S. to take us there. Within 24 hours we got our results and were free to leave the resort to check out the Island which we did. Beautiful Island.... Beautiful people. The people who worked at Sandals and our tour guide and drivers were wonderful, friendly God loving people. So thankful to be surrounded by such amazing people. A shout out of thanks and appreciation for making our stay so great: * Chrystal and Kirisha for entertaining us and making tie dye t-shirts with us. * Jalisa taking our photo order * The photographers always around and avail. to take our pics * Markita and all the ladies who's names slip me now but I remember your faces for greeting and caring for us with love * Carlos for taking us out on the Hobby Cat * Chef Melissa's food and conversation during our Beach Dining experience * Larry on the Beach!

Outstanding service and will 100% be back again with the butler service. Well worth the money for the personalized services. Thank you girls for an unbelievable experience!!!!!

I guess a late review is better than no review at all! Last year my fiancé and I had the pleasure of enjoying Christmas at the Royal Barbados resort. We arrived on Christmas Eve for a 5 day stay to make it home for NYE. We booked a club level swim up room at the South Seas Village. I am so relieved we were on this side of the resort. While the Royal Seaside Village is more central, we prefer to go to the party than live in the party. The foam party at the main infinity pool was a ton of fun! We also enjoyed the rooftop pool, it wasn’t as busy normally. South Seas was much quieter & we literally spent hours in our lazy river swim up pool. Room was super modern & well lit. I appreciated that after staying at the Royal Bahamian the year before where everything was older & needed a refresh badly. After a very long wait for our baggage at airport and for a shuttle to the resort, we managed to get to dinner by 7:30ish at American Tavern. Since it was late we didn’t get a chance to check out the resort and we’re starving. American Tavern was NOT good. Unfortunately everything lacked flavour and the spinach dip we received was rock hard. The crab cakes had a weird taste. It was not a busy restaurant and we understood why after attempting to eat there. We never came back! Next day was Christmas we made it a point to explore and book all of our restaurants. Because of the time of year, we did not get much selection. They were barely able to squeeze us into Chi & Butch’s steak and seafood the last two nights of our stay at 9 pm seatings. This caused us to change our meal plans for lunch to make sure we would be hungry. Lunch we always had a mix of Jerk Shack, Mariner’s Grill & Dinos pizza. We are the type of people who would only eat on the beach or by the pool. I refuse to sit inside during the day, soak up every minute of that sunshine! I had Jerk chicken daily with the amazing coleslaw. I would always ask for extra! My fiancé enjoyed the pizza & the classic burger with curly fries. Lunch sustained us & never disappointed. Christmas night they had a special menu at the restaurants. We ended up on Neptune’s which is right on the beach by the ocean. Sounds ideal right? Well locals had decided to make a huge bonfire to have their own cookout & since beaches are public in Barbados there is nothing the resort can do about it. They put down this shade to try to stop the smoke blowing right into the restaurant for the whole dinner but it didn’t help. I had the grilled keftedes which were dry and he had steak with shrimps which he did not enjoy. Ended up ordering room service when we got back to the room. The room service was never delivered hot, usually lukewarm. Bombay Club is when our dinner luck changed! We throughly enjoyed all the tandoori dishes, butter chicken and shrimp curry with naan. Chi was fantastic! Enjoyed the Thai soup, chicken satay, fried rice, pepper steak, lo mein, general tso chicken & Kung Pao chicken. It was our personal favourite. We sat on the patio by the koi fish & loved the vibe. Butch’s Steak & Seafood was our last dinner & delicious! Beet & Arugula salad was the best salad I had my trip. Also got the garlic shrimp, diver scallops & the braised beef short rib. My fiancé’s steak was not as tender as he would’ve liked. We enjoyed the service here the most & connected with the waitress who had lived in Canada for a few years. It was a great way to end the trip! I forgot to mention desserts because we made a nightly trip to sweet n salty’s gourmet donuts & pretzels! Oh boy these were all yummy & we tried different ones daily. The cinnamon one and s’mores were the best. I got a salty pretzel daily for a snack as well. Evenings we enjoyed at the bowling alley & spent time watching sports games as well as having the international beers. I was pleased with the selection and had Peroni’s which I love! It was a good change from the mojitos we spent drinking on the beach during the day. Sometimes hostesses would come by with Jell-O shots! As we were club level, we had a unlimited bar in our room available. The sparkling wine was used daily to make mimosas & enjoy before dinner. My fiancé called to ask for two bottles delivered instead of the one. This was not usually allowed as the staff said people steal bottles to bring home with them?? We had to provide the empty bottle to them whenever we asked for a replenishment. This was weird & inconvenient. The beach was well groomed with someone cleaning the seaweed constantly. There were some local vendors who were approaching guests with deals. We weren’t interested as we only had a limited time & wanted to really enjoy every moment at the resort. While this resort was much better & newer than Royal Bahamian, I do believe they need to work on the food standard & service for club level & higher, throughout the resort. After this year of 2020, I would love to go back & see if any improvements have been made!

We have loved every second at Sandals Resort in Barbados. We have also loved our three butlers- Latonya, Arlene, and Shonika. Each one has gone out of their way to make sure we are taken care of- from making dinner reservations, a couple massage, bringing us drinks and snacks at the beach, and leaving us sweet surprises in our room. We have felt all the love and are already planning our next trip back.

We had an amazing experience! Best guest service ever!!! From Patrick picking us up and dropping us off in a RR Ghost... to Jerome, Bryan, and Rasheed taking care of everything and always staying one step ahead of us with one surprise after another... to Tracy and team at the Spa for couples massage... to the chefs and servers at the restaurants the food was excellent and the service impeccable. Most of all hats of to Sandals and Barbados in general for having their collective acts together on COVID. We felt very safe and comfortable at all times. Perfect balance of still living life while exercising strict adherence to very logical, clear cut protocols from before we ever took-off and throughout the trip. We will definitely go back! Thanks again Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados
